I live not far from where the F111s were based. Back when I was a kid, we used to have a spring festival called Warana. It was traditional for the opening for 6 F111s to fly over Brisbane city in formation just after it got dark, then when they got over Moreton Bay they’d fan out, pull up vertically and all dump and burn.

Watched that happen on an alert F-4D, out of RAF Woodbridge. Our rescue squadron was at the takeoff end of the runway, the siren went off, and the practice squad left on their simulated nuke mission. One of the pair got airborne and had too much fuel and some splashed on takeoff and the flame came out the fuel vent. Impressive, but not fun to watch when you're not that far away.

I got a big nostalgia kick from the dump'n'burn, been a long time since I last saw a Pig do that.
I was lucky enough to be at the Royal Australian Air Force's 70th anniversay airshow in 1991, the F-111 display concluded with three aircraft approaching the field in vee formation about 500ft off the deck, then all three of them hitting the fuel dump switch as they broke and climbed out. Something I will never forget!
You can see a tiny bit of (very old) footage of the triple dump-and-burn at around 13:43 in this documentary which someone has kindly uploaded to youtube (all four parts are available):

Australia was the last air Force to use the F-111 and this was it's fair well airshow.
What it is ,is the fuel dump pipe is right between the engines and when they dump fuel and go to afterburners it ignites the dumping fuel. Aussies loved it!
