You discovered lake effect snow in Negaunee and ice racing in Gladstone. Negaunee is the snow capitol of the UP, many years they get 250 inches of snow and 300 inches is not unusual. Deer travel on frozen rivers in late January and February because the snow is too deep in the woods. A good friend in Paradise, eastern UP, has a photo of deer on his pole barn roof. Yep, they just walked on up there and found some solid ground. Oh, Escanaba is the Banana belt of the UP. Warmed by southern winds from Lake Michigan, it's like going to Miami Beach if you live in UP in the winter.

My man moved to Wisconsin from Arkansas and this is gonna be his first time driving in Wisconsin snow LOL he has no clue what’s coming
@@Blondelululover I hope he has a 4WD heavy SUV or pickup : LandCruiser / Shogun etc. And a big dash of confidence!
We don't want them send them to Illinois or Portland Oregon they will be more welcome there then michigan
NO!!! Don't we have enough problems to contend with ???
You know what they DON'T have up in the UP? Exactly!
I live in New England, and I don't know how they do it either. Respect.
It's hell. I moved away, and only visit in the summer.
I’ve lived here all my life and we just have to get used to it 😩😂 we always dread winter time unless it’s for snowmobiling and ice fishing 😂
@@AlexandertheGreat99 haha you sound like my cousins from Arizona. They love the UP but never ever would come here in the winter they would freeze to death. 🤣
@@Blondelululover 😄 Yup. I'm in NM. I went up there the end of May a few years ago, and I was complaining about how cold it was! I just can't tolerate cold, and cloudy skies. I have SAD, so sunny NM for me! I had to tolerate da Yoop for 33 miserable years. But I love spending a few months there in the summer.
Michigander my whole life. I don’t like cold anymore, so I’m definitely planning to leave. Can’t knock it, just I don’t feel it’s really for me.
I'm from chicago. I went around the lake Michigan circle tour. It was very beautiful. I would love to do it again. When I cross that bridge I was so scared that I screamed the whole way through😅😂❤ such a great time
Love life up there! It's like traveling back to the 80's where people are very friendly and crime hardly exists. No woke stuff. The summers are better because you can get on the lakes and visit the many waterfalls. Lots of mountain biking and rock hunting. The mine tours are cool, too.
You missed Benny the Troll (sculpture). Next time!
if you live there you'll realize people aren't that friendly and crime really isnt that low
There’s no bad weather, just bad clothing.
But in the U.P., the bears and moose will eat you!
Thanks for showing us this part of Michigan , is beautiful and peaceful , how lucky they truly are to be in that much space 👍🏼
The food in Michigan tastes way better than the food in Chicago. It tastes more real and tastes more fresh. I was amazed
What kind of food is it German if I had to guess
I was surprised as well.
Chicago food is too salty, too sour and too burnt.
I'd rather send them to Cali than have one more in my home state
Thanks Nick. You're all 💯 MAGA 🎉
Greetings from south coast California.
🙏🇺🇸♥️🙌🎊🎵🎶
It's 1st rain in my 93111 on this Saturday. I admire Michiganeers who live there (too cold and windy).
The U.P. only had one county go to Kamala. Keep that crap out of here.
I graduated from Northern Michigan University. I would have stayed there but couldn't find employment.
Same thing happened to me! I miss the hiking and easy access to the woods.
No door dash or uber up there? Lol
@LeahDyson-kq4bd not back in 1985. 😅
That part if the state reminds me to Kuusamo, Finland. I wonder why they don’t have wood saunas though… they make a whole world of a difference in wintertime!
We do! (Not everyone, but lots of folks have them). There’s a company that builds them somewhere in Delta County.
I have a hot tub. Would love a sauna. 5 acres of trees 🤔 one day maybe...😊
We appreciate and love you Nick
It is beautiful. But I couldn't take the cold.
It’s beautiful up here and we do what we have to do LOL born and raised here
Much as ii lke your channel don't give them idea. I live in Michigan and it tough for us conservatives to get liberals oit of government. Send them Vermont instead
Hey Nick, you will have to check out Girl in the Woods and her husband Bushradicial. They live in the UP and build cool cabins. ☮️
I just finished watching Dave building one of them, then clicked on this video. You could learn to build your own cabin just by watching him. And Brooke thinks outside the box with her A- frames and yurt.
Absolutely beautiful, I'd LOVE to live there but NO DEMOCRATS. Democrats couldn't survive.
Hell no make them stay in california/new york/ dc and chicago
Upstate New York looks similar believe it or not
That bridge is scary to be on when it's nice out. Can't imagine being on it in the winter 😱
What A Great Place To Visit Nick, I Always Wondered What The UP Looked Like And What The People Were Like, They Have To Be Tough To Live In This Kind Of Weather💯💯👍👍👏👏
Keep em far away from the upper peninsula send them to Minneapolis/ st Paul let em have those cities
The western/sw UP is influenced by Wisconsin The Eastern UP is more Michigan/Canadian The rock changes from limestone in the east and darkens as you head west I moved there in 1985 and again in 2004 for a total of 22 years Love it❤Much history😊
I just watched your videos because I liked learning about other places, but I love that you went full Republican!! My boy!
