- The writer and actor heads to the Far East to experience a day in the life of Hong Kong, a complex city that is a mix of the ancient and modern, East and West, and where consumerism and spiritualism live side by side. Griff helps run a stall at a bird market, goes on a bus ride with a group of Chinese tourists, has a water fight with a troop of boy scouts and joins schoolchildren being taught a unique method of mental arithmetic

I stopped watching TV 5 years ago. I find every thing I want on TH-cam. And now I AM BINGE-WATCHING "TRACKS". Trapped by the sheer diversity of coverage. Thanks to all the girls and boys at TRACKS, and Griff Rhys Jones - one of my most favorite off-the-wall, idiot, loose-nut, clinically-insane, out-to-lunch, not the nine o clock comedians gone Serious. Thanks, Griff.
I love YT...
Ayooooo that little boy and girl in the math class are adorable 😍😍🥰🥰🥰
I saw different cultures very well integrated in this video. I'm a native Cantonese and very proud of my culture that I found HK is the best place to show the full profile.
Mr. Jones, I pick up your easy, breezy, courteous, helpful, inquistive, professional vibe. Love it! Thank you for the show!
Greetings from Hong Kong!
smart kid! english isnt their 1st language but he expressed himself well.
Hong Kong is in my wishlist, I hope someday I surely visit this vibrant n pulsating city in the Far-East. Thank u Tracks for the wonderful documentary u guys have made on Hong-Kong.
Too late
@@disrael2101 Better late than never 😉😉
Griff , you did it , man - you made all 'em sing along to that archaic Maoist song ... not many Taffy's can do that ! Good man yerself !
I was lucky enough to meet someone from Hong Kong.
If this man was a representative of what Hong Kong people are like, I’m very impressed.
Hongkong used to have a rude reputation in the 90s during my first vist. Apparently they fixed the problem, I spend few days a month during 2011 to 2913 in Hong Kong, the people were so friendly, helpful and spoke English fluently.
Soon, Hongkong will not be the same, it'll because a dream
My first Tracks Video of Hong Kong. Can't wait to visit this month. You've earned a thumbs up and a new subscriber.
Like Griff's travellogs and how he presents them....ie down to earth and with humility. This was interesting & well done, but no mention of the awful pollution in Hong Kong.
Adorable kids in Math class
Well done documentary on Hong Kong !! Excellent; thank you for sharing. I hope I will be able to visit Hong Kong , Shanghai and other cities in China someday.
Macau is just a short speed ferry away. Macau still has Portuguese streets signs, it's the Vegas of the east
Fantastic, only just found you🥰
Great Doc
this video is older then 2019, my guess is maybe another 10 years. So things have really changed in that time
I heard the music from Azerbaijani movie "O olmasin Bu olsun" (5:35 approximately)
I love Hong Kong and will go back if i can
Most expensive than human , what a line ❤
take one last look ladies and gents
Wow, really great documentary . 👏 "you look like sleepy but not " Is that not amazing? Incredible calculation skills.
Sounds like Toots Thielman ! Master jazz harmonica player. Midnight Cowboy etc.
Could you imagine US subways looking like this? Or subway workers in the US doing this cleaning work?
good
I’m particularly interested in the music featuring the mouth organ. What were they called
Soon these authentic Hong Kong 🇭🇰 will be just a dream. Luckily we can ways find the dreamy movie representing Hong Kong in the fame movie 🎬
IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE.
Highly recommend if you haven't seen it
Authentic Chinese culture in Hong Kong
What's the name of this narrator? He is definitely good in what he does
Great city. Shame it's now descended into a police state.
I was lucky enough to spend 2 days every month during 2012 to 13 in Hong Kong to renew my visa . Smaller schools in Guangzhou were to cheap to provide a visa ,so many foreigners teachers, businesses man/women had to travel to Hong Kong to renew a visa. My passport looks like a novel. It was a nice chance to try street foods, shop until midnight on the streets in "Ladies Streets"
props for a Brit not whitewashing what they did!
If you want to know that tailor that's my company R.S Fashions...you can check us out amazing price for suits and shirts
math class is my favorite part
Black side of economic development , you have to keep birds in a cage and feel it's expensive , we need to think how rich the nature is , she is feeding every living species 🙏🙏🙏
Maya projects is my projects only but no one’s. Who’s can claims my China at all.❤❤
I love this city and peoples there but too bad is taken over by China now ....Pity for native Hong Kong peoples
@DT Hariyanto: No worries! We are fine in HK especially without these agitators. We transport them to Britain. They can have these trouble makers. We in Hong Kong don't want them.
Lower taxes = more wealth. Sadly our idiotic leaders think otherwise.
Strange way to use Ennio Morricone

Interesting but so sad to see those birds in cages. So much bad karma.
Worlds away from US public education
that maths tutor is pathetic. Would have better spoken in Cantonese than embarrassing himself in English. The little kids are very smart, motivated and cute though.
Oh ok, how many languages can you speak?...... 🤔
@SO: Hey, the tutor was talking to an English speaking person. I don't think the narrator could speak Cantonese.
Griff - you don't half come over as an apologist for bloody gunboat jingoism ... eh ? Do i detect a bare iota of penitance or regret in our British ( English and tory really ) imperial arrogance and ruthlessness ? Alas , sigh , I don't . Sigh .
Excellent presenter with a horrible saliva voice
mumble, mumble-not worth the effort.
