Dinner: Chicken Meatballs in a Cream Sauce Recipe - Natasha's Kitchen

- These chicken meatballs (tefteli) are tender, juicy and swimming in a super flavorful creamy sauce that coats each one just so. Serve these lofty meatballs over buttered egg noodles or atop of creamy mashed potatoes. P.S. Can you spot the baby? 😉

Ingredients for Chicken Meatballs:
►1 - 1¼ lb ground chicken (I used ground chicken thighs)
►1 cup cooked white rice, cooled to room temp or colder
►1 large egg
►1 small onion, grated
►1 garlic clove, pressed
►½ tsp salt (I used sea salt)
►¼ tsp pepper
►½ cup flour for dredging
►2 Tbsp oil (I used extra LIGHT olive oil)
Ingredients For the Sauce:
►2 Tbsp butter
►2 Tbsp flour
►2 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth
►¼ cup sour cream (or greek yogurt)
►½ to 1 tsp paprika (more if you like a little spice in your life)
►Salt and Pepper to taste
►Freshly chopped parsley for garnish

Just made these for dinner. I had left over roasted chicken, used panko instead of rice, swapped for smoked paprika, and zested a lemon with a little squeeze to boost the flavor. So delicious!! Thanks!

These look delicious! I don't add rice, but I add diced and sauteed in butter (and cooled) mushrooms. For a diff flavor profile I add diced red or orange pepper. The dice has to be a small dice though.

Great recipe Natasha, for those who want to make sure the chix is done before adding to sauce, thighs = 170 to 175 F, if you use breast meat =160 to 165 F, they are great, looks like the baby is on the prowl for some chix meatballs, lol, i think he is stalking his mom

Really nice recipe. I love the idea of adding leftovee rice to the meatballs. About sour cream, I'm thinking of replacing ot with hung curd or thick yogurt. It will add sn extra tang while cutting down the calories.

hi nathasha i will make these chicken meatballs but i would like to make it the "indian gravy style. instead of cream i will put "Garam Masala" for the sauce. hope it will turn out to be ok. i like the way you prepare the meatballs. thank you for sharing
