I believe that structure you are referring to is a foundation of a building that existed at one time. The rectangular holes look like vents and I believe those metal posts are what would be used in conjunction with boards to create a wooden frame. I could be wrong. Ahhh the adventure of exploring.
It's a shame that people are so disrespectful (trash, not understanding privacy). Thanks for a great video...and that view at 11:30 !! New subscriber :)
Beautiful I went out to Astoria and got stuck on the beach hahaha 5 speed awd soon as I shift gears the momentum is gone hahaha got rescue twice but I made it off the beach tho lol
@@ScaleofTwo Lol a damn stock Honda crv made me look bad while I’m lifted 3 inches huge all terrain tires and I was stuck but still had a great time tho
@@ScaleofTwo haha. I can see that. We laid a huge log down to block our camp, but the first person just ran over it, so we moved it further down closer to the main road and then people chucked it out of the way. Guess it didn’t work to show people the space was occupied 😂 It is funny to think about now.
I don’t mind if people drive back and see if the spot is open. But the absolute nerve to roll up, park, and walk into our campsite with hardly acknowledging us is just wild 😂
Another great video. What a nice way to start my day, with some inspiration to get out there and explore. As a side note, I'm all about picking up other people's trash when I find a good dispersed camp spot...but I draw the line at what I call "Peninsula White Fish" (used condoms/tampons). They seem to pop up everywhere around here, and in the most unusual places, sometimes leaving me to really scratch my head wondering what the story was. Could make for an interesting coffee table book...
Oh man...I think we refer to them as French laundry (or something along those lines). Always pretty gross to see people not taking care of business properly out there. That would be a coffee book table that you'd want to look away from but just can't seem to bring yourself to do it XD
Great video, I was out with some friends at a dispersed campsite and a car pulled up and just hung out for a few hours and then left, it was super awkward and weird #ADVwithRoscoe
Lovely video. What tools do you use to track down spots? Besides the urge to keep exploring around the next corner...any maps, apps, gossip forums that assist?
Hi guys! Love your videos 👏🏽 Recently got into car camping/overlanding myself I’ve been looking to explore Oregon (as I’m from Washington) what areas would you recommend to visit first for dispersed camping? Something close to fishing would be awesome! Keep on camping! 🏕 👏🏽
Hiya! Thanks for watching! We haven’t gotten too deep into the fishing stuff in Oregon yet, but lots of the lakes in Mt Hood are stocked with rainbow and brook trout. Timothy lake is a good spot to get your feet wet with dispersed camping / fishing!
Yep I’m right there with you guys! People have gotten extremely rude and thoughtless these days and it’s when you least expect it, I’m all about being positive and finding positivity with everything the best I can, but when you come across people that try hard to not think, it can be very difficult, we just blame it on lead paint and radon gases 😂😂
Love your videos. Really artfully edited. My wife and I just moved to Oregon from Cali and we're newbies to camping. You guys are really helping us get out there.
Dang dude, people are weird af I hate that. If I run across an occupied campsite I do the turn and bail ASAP with a friendly wave it’s just the way of the road! For secluded dead end campsites like that I’ve considered putting like a little cone with a sign that says like “campers ahead, dead end” or something. I know if I saw that I’d appreciate it. Maybe with the day’s date so people know it’s not just abandoned trash.
In my opinion as Kim stated, it's not that they came (for that is what all of us want to experience, it's why we go out there). It is the lack of politeness and social considerations for each other. In a world of keyboard interaction and a sense of anonymity people don't do well in person. Share the outdoors with respect and compassion 😔
I’ve been there many times, and always get invaded by site seekers. It’s a hidden gem, well executed video.
I’m so impressed with your wife and her love of fishing! My Moms cousin is 96 and still fishes!

I was wondering that as well! It just looked too new and unfinished to be a broken down building I guess. But that would definitely make more sense.
Unfinished….stopped building for some reason. Deep foundation for snow 👍
Thanks!
Thank you so much, David! Glad you're enjoying the vids :D
Ha ha that's the foundation, the metal is for bolting down the wood frame.
It’s a foundation for what probably was a cabin. The threaded rods protruding from the concrete were for bottom plate for the walls
Such a tiny cabin!
I remember hiking with you two before you were even dating! First time watching - great stuff.
Hey Zane! Hope you’re doing well! Thanks for watching ❤️
New subscriber I found you through the Grizzly Path channel.
Cheers Michael! Glad to have ya 🤙🏼
That opening drone shot! Wow…. Might have to attempt that one myself
Get it flyin 🤙🏼

Thanks Craig! It’s definitely one of our go to spots now 😎

That’s a great idea. Might have to start bringing one of those, it was really a strange experience 😬
Exactly!!! I do an about face and head out like a fetus! Seems like people go out of their ways to be rude
Some people are assholes. Sorry man. Hope you guys had fun.
Definitely still a fantastic weekend, just a little strange 😂
That is a good way to get shot if you walk up on a camp at night. Not cool

Totally agree, we would have been more than happy to let them enjoy the view for a few minutes had they asked. It is what it is though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
