I have a German restaurant in my area. I LOVE the Weiner schnitzel, which is veal. It comes with choices, the red cabbage, spätzle, gravy, German potato salad, sauerkraut and a soup or salad. The soup is usually sauerkraut soup. I am of German ancestry, so I love this food. The town is named, New Ulm. So, you know, it is a German culture town. They have a brewery, and I love their seasonal, Octoberfest beer.
I’m so German , my grandparents are from the old country , the spaetzle was my grandmother’s favorite dish to make , keep up the great work !!! Thank you !!
I was born in Heidelberg, Germany when my dad was stationed there during the Berlin Airlift. All my gra is amd greats were born there. They all lived on farms in Poe, Indiana.
"Oma" is the german word for granny, the red cabbage dish was made by the recipe of someone`s grandma, greetings from southern germany, glad you liked our food
Joel, darling, outstanding challenge!! The food looked so tasty and delish. I enjoy German food, especially their noodle dishes. Great timing in finishing. Good job! 💋
I'm half German and while living in Germany I can remember going to OMaw and OPaws house for dinner and eating a big beast like you have in front of you. They both passed away years ago and I haven't had and authentic German dish since. I must make it to Nashville to this spot, my mouth is watering lol OMG I'm sure I could finish this challenge 😅😅😅
I love your videos. The food looks amazing. I finished this wishing you had broken it into two separate videos. I feel like too much was fast forwarded to fit it all together. I love the reactions immediately after you take a bite, the building appreciation as you figure out the flavors and textures. That was kinda lost in this video. Even with that it was a great video. You are a beast. Wish I could eat even a quarter of the amount you do.
As a half German (fathers side), I concur on how good German food is, and believe me the food here is as authentic as can be. I’ll definitely try this place the next time I’m in the US. Fantastic!
I’m not German or have any in me, but I love me a pork or chicken schnitzel, I make them once a week. But I pan fry them instead with gluten free breadcrumbs home made. The traditional schnitzel is venison. I love sauerkraut! I also make cucumber in vinegar.
Holy cow! My mouth is watering. I live 70 miles southeast and, if I didn't dislike going to Nashville so much... well, I'll have to go. My mother in-law's family is pure German and I'm positive they've eaten there. Great video as always!
Two food challenges in one video amazing the first food challenge is the regular food challenge the second food challenge is to see how much you can eat after finishing the first food challenge
Spaetzle was my favorite food as a child. My mother would make it every time we were sick and put it in chicken soup as the noodles. Between me and my siblings we were faking illnesses for years! ❤
Good job buddy and I love mushrooms I've been picking wild edible choice mushrooms with 35 years I was also mushroom harvester for the mushroom lines for a couple years it was cool good job 👍👍👍
Food looked amazing. I love German food. My neighbor growing up as a child was german. She would invite me and my family for snitzel all the time. ❤ I am happy to have learned from my neighbors cooking. I LOVE purple prepared cabbage. I put it in sausages and even burgers. 😋🤤 I grow gerkins. I don't know how they got so big. I pick mine before they are the size of a looney. They are not as bitter when they are smaller.
Hey Joel. I also never had schnitzel before either. It does look pretty good.. Happy Thursday. You crushed it.. Thanks for sharing this Schnitzel.. The gravy paired well with it. Always a pleasure Joel. Much Love and Blessings! Enjoy... ♥️🐞🤗
@JoelHansen If you ever find yourself in Tyler, Texas, you need to eat at Jucys. They don't have a challenge, but I am convinced they make the best Burgers in Texas. And if you do go, make sure to get the onions rungs and complimentary spicy pinto beans in the crockpot by the front door window. You won't be disappointed. I would love to see a video of you eating there!
This brings me back to my time in the Army stationed in Germany . Great people , food and beer . Danke
Where were you stationed in Germany?

21 mins. Great win. That Bierhaus was huge. They must have one heck of an OktoberFest.
Once he licked that bowl he rethought his existence on earth. 🤣🤣

Spatzli and hunter sauce together is amazing
that food looked incredible! Nice one, dude!
Well done, 🎉Joel 👏
It's amazing how the lines form on your forehead when you raise your eyebrow at the beginning of the video.. a piece of art.
The food looks delicious! Looks like you enjoyed it.
:)
What is not to like!!!😅😅😅
Dude you rocked it out Hard core huge Congrats Kaslo BC Canada !!!
You will rock this challenge Joel! 😊
I am half-German and those are BY FAR the thickest Schnitzles I have ever seen, usually they are pretty flat! The red cabbage looked great!
if I had a dollar for every food Joel dislikes I'd have no dollars.
lol not true
@@JoelHanseni can think of cheese 😂😂😂
Yeah, I think we need a list. Maybe a video of trying all disliked food to see if the taste has changed.😊

The burp that shook the world! 😃
I love cabbage in any form. I would call it pungent rather than bitter. Everything here looked delicious. I had no doubt this challenge was going down
I couldn't believe you waited so long to eat the spaetzle, it's soooo good and you finally found out.
On the bonus - Rouladen is awesome! That was a special meal that my grandma would make once in a while for a Sunday dinner.
Every time I am in Nashville I go there! The food and staff are always on point!
You should give your compliments to the chef in person directly to the chef.
Spaetzle was my favorite food as a child. My mother would make it every time we were sick and put it in chicken soup as the noodles.
Between me and my siblings we were faking illnesses for years! ❤

lived in germany in the 80s, jaeger schnitzel is amazing
This is literally a SNACK to this man
Always a great job you are awesome 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛.
Love mushrooms, so good. Food there looks like the food at Una's, Sydney's most authentic Austrian/German restaurant. Best schnitzels by far.
Leave it upto Joel to stop in the middle of the challenge to fix the camera and table, and still kill the challenge. 💪
Like, we had any doubts 😬
Well to be honest 5 pounds of food is no more then a lite snack for him
Joel is a BOSS!
It was nostalgic for me to see the cucumber side dish. I fondly recall my grandmother making cucumbers and onions when I was a child. ❤😢
This looks like a snack for Joel 🤪
Great job!!!! Everything looked good!!’😊❤🎉🎉🎉
That looks legit 😮😊
Mushrooms are the best, especially when made into gravies and sauces, but just cooked in butter is sublime.
❤❤❤❤ i haven’t had this in 12 years omg
Sauerkraut, yummie!
That looked AMAZING!!! Definitely going to try that next time in Nashville. 👍👍
Yummy that food looked delicious😊

Hilarious how Joel constantly compliments the food as he's casually destroying the challenge
Great Job Joel ❤

I’m not supposed to either. But I ain’t giving up my home cooked fried chicken and other dishes. My doctors cringe more than smile. Lol

I love sour kraut! So good!
The rueben is my fav sandwich along with the French dip, I can't pick a fav. Weird pickle concoction at the end.
