For everyone knowledge about horizon level + video rotation, the go3s crops the video a lot using freeframe and 360 Horizon lock view, shame, the Go2 had better Horizon lock and wider angle of view, also you can't rotate the video on freeframe. In the Go2 you can add keyframes, rotate video for a barrel efect and lock Horizon while switching from filming horizontal to vertical, not anymore on insta go 3s.
I got used to the GO2 reframing workflow because I really valued the keyframe and horizon lock features. With Go2 I gathered shots I would have otherwise passed on, because I knew that I could reframe later.
If I buy the standalone Go 3S and use it with my Go 3 case, will I have access to all of the new features and modes? For instance, megaview or the horizon correction thing. Would I have access to all of the new framerates and resolutions?
Thanks for the input. There is always a give and take, but if you want the 4k, it's there in the GO 3S. You can still also record in 2.7k @ 50 FPS with an improved battery.

My understanding from watching all of the reviews this morning is that the battery is the same and the processor is a lot faster to allow for the 4K recording, but this means that there is a bit less battery life in every resolution. Did I misunderstand this? 🤔
@intrepidchimp The processor may also be a lot more efficient. An improved processor can also mean it generates less heat and uses less power. So, it can be more powerful and less hot and power hungry too. The battery life in 4K is not that different than in 2.7K in fact.
I’m looking for a small camera to film walking tours inside malls, and in lower light / artificial light. Can’t decide between this and the Go3S. Any thought?
@@JordanHetrick no the go3 and the Ace Pro! Sorry for the confusion. I agree with you about the go3s but I meant Go3S vs Ace Pro for mall walking tours, low light and vlogging in artificial, low or mixed lighting.
You can record in FreeFrame video mode at 4K-30 or up to 2.7-50. Horizon Lock can be added in the app to these resolutions, but since it crops in a lot in 4K, you will see a noticeable reduction in quality. FreeFrame 2.7k is better than 4K, but still not as high quality as a standard 2.7k video. I hope that helps.

I been trying to look for video explaining this situation but your right, it does really suck that you cannot record 9:16 ratio being on the hat clip.

Yes, you will have all of the features of the GO 3S when using it with the GO 3 Action Pod.

4K in a small sensor... It doesn't make sense, actually I think it's worse because the device heats faster and the battery drains faster too.
when the go 3 was out, people complained about it's only limited to 2.7k, you can't always make everyone happy

look at the manual first, don't talk without knowing the contents of the camera, you are talking immediately without even trying to use it like a fool
