Cockpits are actually a later addition in terms of growth, believe it or not. The lore's actually kind of interesting and nothing's really used it that much.
I really don't like the Zoids Wild series or it's designs, but I love the original stuff (Chaotic Century, New Century/Zero). Good to see a step up in plastic quality but I wish they'd do 2.0 versions of all the more popular classics such as the Shield Liger, Blade Liger, Geno Saurer, Geno Breaker, Liger Zero, Berserk Fury/Fuhrer etc using that new higher quality plastic/molds.
I just finished the Fangtiger kit and its true, the mecha skeleton part is already as good as it is (took me a moment to contemplate if I even wanted to placed the outer yellow armored shells). These latest versions of Zoids (Takara Tomy) are truly something, even building the smaller variants are fun (Kuwaga is awesome).
Would absolutely love to see more Zoids reviews from you. Especially the repackaged versions that have been coming out in the last few years. They're basically 2.0 versions fixing most of the problems with the original kits. The Command Wolf, Lightning Saix, and Shadow Fox are some favs of mine

the Zoids in Zoids Wild feel more like Pokemon and Digimon than piloted mecha which is strange but then again the origins of the Zoids is that they are meant to be alien lifeforms of Planet-Z "tamed" by the human-like alien races.
Great looking kit but the hip joints are very fragile at the hinge where they connect to the hip. Both of them cracked when putting in the peg. So I had to take it apart, cement the cracked parts beck together and sand down the peg a bit so they moved more smoothly. Not a difficult fix but a bit of a design flaw imho.

zoids wild 0 also uses a similar liger; they added a cockpit^^
2040 design = Leashes.
The Zoids from Zoids: Wild are more akin to non-biological animals as opposed to mechas in animal forms, which is closer to the core concept of Zoids

Welp, aside from the weird "cockpit" it is still a pretty good model kit. Especially if you just like good model kit or mecha lion XD
The interesting thing is that the zoids of Zoids: Wild are closer to the core concept of Zoids than previous media in the Zoids franchise

I wish I was willing to shell out for the old Liger Zero kits. Each of the 4 forms is like $65ish BEFORE shipping. New century was my childhood
I paid about $1000+ (AUD) for the four units. I have no regrets.
With an exposed inner frame like that, this Zoid is suitable to be used as a Calamity War Mobile Armor

Takara Tomy’s has electronics which makes it move and is much cheaper somehow well it is smaller compared to kotobukiya
Yeah, but they have an intrusive gimmick that hinders articulation.
The TOMY version is catered for kids, if anything.

The Wild Liger is a 1:35 kit. It’s a much smaller more portable unit
