As a Kiwi I can tell you, the situation must be pretty extreme for the New Zealand government to agree to participate in this, it's one thing to have the US saying this but NZ walks a fine line on China and open criticism is rare. It's a pity they don't go deeper because what they are saying is just a tiny amount of what they are doing and China really is Orwell's 1984 but with scary high tech. They know the wars coming and they dont care what they steal or what rules they break cause it's all about the end game.

      well phrased.
though this will be an uphill battle for one reason:
the overused, mostly rarely true of:
      racism and discrimination
If you address this issue and it has already been proven as valid you will still be branded as:
      discrimination
our society has been taught for 60yrs to use that as a gender, race or ethnic group "excuse".
it will work here also, probably. even with evidence of this it will be you are: anti-Asian.
the US state department was sued a few years ago by asian employee's. hence they did not get assigned to asia as often as others or as they "wanted". they knew why DoS was doing this and it was mostly prudent and appropriate.
did not matter. the asian employee's did not get their way, therefore they sue and yes, the always:
      racism and discrimination "claim".
so good luck battling this legitimate issue and threat to our nation and get ready to be titled:
      racist ect.

They must have already foiled dozens of unprecedented atrocities. If the intelligence community is good at its job, none of us will ever know the details of what could have happened. Nuclear blasts, bombings, poisoned food or water supplies, mass outages, etc. If I’m running the US intelligence apparatus, I wouldn’t want any prevented disasters being announced to the public. The enemy should have to guess who is messing up there plans. I think 9/11 was allowed to happen, given the massive benefit to the defense contractors (and all their suppliers/vendors) who made hundreds of billions off our occupation of the Middle East. And of course the Patriot Act which gave the intelligence community the legal ability to build massive data monitoring systems, with little to no privacy protections for world citizens.

China can produce a fake iphone that is identical in appearance in every way. Hell, I could do it based on a TH-cam video and I don't know the first thing about electronics. What they cannot do, however, is produce critical components that power the iphone. Advanced semiconductors and such. The knowhow for designing those components exists only within the United States, and the machines that produce them are only made by a single Sweedish company. Taiwan and South Korea are the only countries that produce the chips, which China is desperately trying to gain the capability to do. They cannot do that by stealing iphone designs, but they can do it by spying over time and learning how to make the advanced components themselves.
That is why Joe Biden's Chips act was so damaging to China; the US cut off China's supply of advanced chips practically overnight, so anything that requires those components is now unable to properly function.

It would be absurd to expect them to act in a manner that would promote democracy, but for our governments to sit around this table and wonder how it got to this point is just silly. We all know. About the best you can get is using your bank to pay credit cards, and then use your credit cards to pay everything else, because in the US in particular the fed govt. REQUIRES that credit card companies protects their customers from fraud and theft. It doesn't do the same with banks. So the SAFEST accounts for you to use are credit cards.
