    When I used to watch RT online, I kept in mind that THIS was the opinion and perspective of a foreign government. Our own government thinks we are all too stupid to recognize subterfuge all by ourselves. Many RT stories were an adversarial spin on the situations. But some stories were just free-reporting/actual journalism that MSM would not cover. They are definitely a foreign agent seeking a voice and influence in our culture. That should never be forgotten. But I also don't think they should be silenced. Silencing opposition is a Leftist fallacy these days and will NEVER be good in a free country. Russia should definitely ban our media in return as there is no doubt our News is political and biased these days. True journalism is DEAD in America. Ask any conservative seeming journalist ( they don't even have to actually be conservative btw) how hard it is for them to find a job in the U.S.. Elon is hated now for simply paving the road to free speech on Twitter. Our free press is a laughing stock of the world now. It's shameful that our younger generations are so misinformed they cannot even discuss issues without name calling and trying to silence dissenting views.

    • @asnark7115
      @asnark7115 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      Except that RT was never that. RT was typically some of the best and often only credible reporting to be had. I used to watch RT online with the understanding that the Russian media company was the only one that would touch an important story and to not spin it in any particular direction. In a nation like the US with a hyper-corrupt govn't, media and industry leaders, no spin is necessary. An RT stringer could just stick a camera out a window and capture the proverbial trainwrecks surrounding them.

  • @augustolori

    It's truly astonishing to hear this artificially blond lady speaking so candidly, accusing the Russian boss of RT of something that America was unaware of the power of! The blond lady appears somewhat naive, seemingly ashamed of what Russia could do in 'manipulating' information, and this itself is a form of manipulation; a visual distortion.
    Let's not forget that we pioneered the internet, recognizing immediately the opportunity to reach every corner of the planet. Regrettably, we didn't pay enough attention to the fact that the internet is not a one-way street. As we export our perspectives to other countries, they, too, can share their news with America. Now, our surprise at this reality seems misplaced. We criticize any country limiting internet access and news circulation, claiming it's undemocratic, and that is precisely why we don't limit the internet. However, Twitter files revealed that censorship was applied to protect specific individuals close to those in power.
    So, whatever RT did in America, they didn't innovate; they merely applied what they learned from us. It's disheartening to witness sixty minutes persisting in their narrative of moral goodness and superiority.

      @awake3607 I do enough digging and spend considerable time looking up all the fake news that the US govt and its media cook up to hide corporate agenda. They're all corrupt to the core and we're lucky to have few media houses, independent and corporate that still tell the truth so we see the truth and light of day. And frankly I'm surprised at this day and age at any tart who still sees US govt and their policies and activities as anything worthy of being decent. I can always read the room because now they're all stuck in their programming which is easy to read. The only ones who don't see it are delusional muppets that don't want to believe that they're supporting a terrorist, entitled, hypocritical, imperialistic, greedy, corrupt, evil regime that makes the average bad governing bodies of the world look like saints. Disgusting. I left the US after waking up and smelling the beans with the scam Iraq War and the following ongoing need to fight unecessary wars all over the world for profit. And the hijacking of media houses. It only ends when everyone stops their slumber and wakes up. Spend some time everyday researching global events and news, you'll know better. You can even avoid the Russian biased stuff and still know better.

      He also got developers to create The Russian Internet! It was tested and went online before DJT LOST 2020. It is only available in Russia and is their backup for "when" the World LOSES their internet!

    The hypocrisy of 60 minutes is laughable. Its ok for them to say whatever but not for others to do the same.

    It's probably difficult for her to not admit what she helped create. She was groomed early in life and a true believer in her system. Putin saved her and she is forever grateful. All one needs to know about RT.

    I like how the representative from RT acts like “well russian gov’t will just label American media foreign agents” like its some gotcha! And like they dont have every spy all over it already 😂
    These what-abouts “you do it too” or “we’ll do the same as you” arguments are kinda played out. It just shows a lack of substance to her defenses, and ironically the interview end up full of propaganda peddling and misinformation.
    Case and point.

      Terrorist relates to freedom fighter in the same way as whataboutism relates to hypocrisy. Please discuss.
