I recently acquired a Novation 49SL MKll…I love this keyboard… Automap controls are so cool specially the use of the faders for the mixer in logic… Just getting into learning this but idk if I want to use it or not… Just using it without Automap for now…
This is 10 years back.. I'm still using the sl mk 2... 61.. n the automap is obsolete n doesnt work... there's a problem in disconnection while playing..does it come with any new driver.. Pls reply.. Bro.. Its n awesome keybrd.
Hi, and thank you, very well explained. But...I do have questions. just picked up my MkII keyboard controller, have downloaded the latest version of automap (vers 4.10) I've been given conflicting info so need to clarify. 1. When in "Mixer" I'm controlling the mix console of my DAW Correct? 2. Does Automap ONLY work with instrument folders or would the mixer controls also control say loops, or recorded audio? (I've been told it only works with midi instruments don't think that is correct. 3. I'm very much a minimalist when mixing, only use what is necessary not all crazy with weird sounds and FX's. So my main concern is being able to mix properly without having to keep relying on a mouse and single track/channel mixing and editing. so... ...the automap will make it easier for me to do over all mixing or just work with midi design instrument tracks? 4. I know transport will control the mix session as lot's of DAW's have that feature, my concerns are for compression, EQ, Pan, volume level, gain etc. Since I use Studio One vers 3.5.6, it has what's known as "Inspector" which is like a mini mixer inside the main DAW. This allows for me to cut up tracks into separate sections if I wish and directly drop special settings effects into the one single "Event" (or slice if that's easier to understand) without affecting any of the other over all settings. This is great for dynamics if say I want the last word of a lyric to trail off in a repeating delay or reverb without the entire track being altered. So... Would that cause conflicts with automap settings? I'm really liking the Novation MkII and am getting the hang of automapping slowly but it is still very confusing. So... 5. Once I set basic parameters for the above mention, this will remain constant as I write, record and mix new material, or do I have to reset to "Default" every single time I create a new song?
P.S. by any chance is there anyone in this subscrption currently using Studio One 3.5.6 and Novation that could possibly walk me through this? Most of this video was basic to all DAW's but S1 does have it's own "Midi Learn" function that is very similar to Automap. Again, so I can avoid conflicts between the different softwares.
How do you assign the sustain pedal? In the parameter window there is no option for sustain. One would think that upon plugging in the pedal, Automap would recognize and assign it but nooooo, that's asking too much. Plz help. Thanks.
When I click play on the SL it plays from the beginning, even when the loop mode is not switched on... anyone know why and how I can change it to play from it's current location (when not in loop mode)?
so well presented..............really helpful and well organized...
