      Thank you for your appreciation. Google map warned me of the blizzard a couple of days back while I was still in Iowa on I80 going west for CA. I travelled south to use I40 instead. An extra 600km of driving to be sure, but I am in CA now without seeing an inch of snow. Delivery on Monday.

      Don't forget the railroads and railroaders. "Snow Fighting" has been part and parcel of this line since Southern Pacific days. Union Pacific carries on the tradition to this day, using Jordan Spreaders to move snow to the side of the tracks. In BIG storms like this, they will deploy the famous rotary plows - built in the 1920s and rebuilt and improved two or three times over the last century. Part of the track still runs through "Snow Sheds", structures covering the track at places where avalanches and heavy drifts have historically occurred. One shed even has fueling tanks inside to replenish locomotive tanks! There was also a turntable inside to turn steam locomotives, but it has been out of service for decades.
      I imagine it would be neat to live there if one didn't have to leave the house to go to work.

      It is fun to see the rail road using the snow blower. On the exposed line and tracks. That machine can really send that snow flying into the air.

      Not easily. With that much snow, they would go faster working in teams, with a loader taking off the top layer above the blower or plow's top input height to clear it to the road level.

      Remember there is a difference in snow shovels. First, use the sturdy narrow one with the hand hold on the end to throw the snow on top down to about 5-6 inches. Then, use the wider curved shovel to push the last snow along down to the paved surface if possible.

      @echochamber4420 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Electric cars are less efficient in cold climates and that’s an undisputed fact by ALL manufacturers, so his comment has validity. In addition, implying that an 80% car sales of EV’s in Norway is evidence to dispute his statement is not really a good rebuttal since the drive behind the EV sales success has to do with the MASSIVE government subsidies and benefits set aside for buyers of EV’s. Without such allowances, the EV market was stagnant just like everywhere else in world.

      We get 2 inches of snow here in the mid Atlantic, and we end up with all day storm coverage. When I was a kid it took more than 2 inches to close schools and the state police to order everyone to go home and stay of the roads.

    Odd … the other day I saw your “Climate Worrier” weather stations saying that snowfall/pack was significantly “Below Average”. (AVERAGE, Get It?)
    NOW the same people are acting Shocked! SHOCKED!!! That they’re getting more snow and it comes in the form of a “Blizzard”!!!
    I wonder if this new snow gets them up to “Average”?

    Dude, the red tractor blowing snow, needs to learn how to operate his equipment better. Open the shoot, so it blows up higher and farther. Let’s strain on the engine and blower. And it will definitely shoot farther especially in wet heavy snow. Open the shoot all the way up. Don’t angle it down.

    One thing I don’t understand is why you are surprised when you see the wrath and punishment of a liar in the last times for the filth of the world. Mother Nature feels the anger and is the first to warm up, and this is not even the middle. The deceitful governor, seduced by the HARLOTS, who sits on the deceitful Dragon (Anti Cross - Vatican) and deceives from these lands, from these. Then the Lawyer will come, who is so angry at the filth of the world. And he is from the house of the Elder, the same ancient Lady Two-Faced, who has had legal rights since last year. Which must change the last bottom line, or the lying world will die together. And what is happening now is not even a small thing. The truth always takes a long time to gather, but it punishes the unwise herd, which does not hear simple words, very strongly. This time will be called the HARVEST OF THE LIARS. So, good luck to all of us.
