    Hi everyone and welcome back to my channel. For this crochet twisted ear warmer I used a weight 4 yarn and a 6 mm crochet hook. However any weight yarn or hook can be used.

    I love this design! The thing that impresses me about this video is even if a viewer was deaf or couldn't speak English, they could follow and understand the pattern.

    Oh my goodness, Carrie I am going to put my other projects to the side for a minute and so start on this. You make everything so much easier. Thank you! For teaching us your crochet patterns. I have never seen the stitch that you introduced on the wrong side. I especially like how you attached the ends together. Thank you! 👍💖🤗

    This is really pretty. I like it. A couple years ago I made one of these in Hobby Lobby's True Colors Aqua yarn which is fat, but it didn't match my mint aqua puffy coat so I am doing another one in non fat yarn to totally match my puffy coat. Might find somebody to give my first one to and keep the second one. I made a hooded scarf and the hood doesn't keep my ears that warm so I thought making another ear warmers will help more. Before, getting up to do something I always make sure I stop in the middle to keep myself from forgetting that I'm working on the back loop of the V's :0). When I stop for a sec on the front loops of the V's I will just keep forgetting about working on the front ones. It's a good idea that I always wait 'til I'm on the back loops then I get up to go do something else really quick before I get back to work. I have a really strong tension when I'm crochetting and it's hard to not pull tight when working in just the front and back loops of my V's. I'm getting used to it though. Since I wear a behind the ear hearing aid I'm gonna add 6-7 inches to completely cover my ears better.

    Very purdy !! I noticed a few people asking what the stitch is called... From what I see it is a herringbone single crochet worked in front and back loops on front and back of work.

      I'm not entirely sure but I think it was a yarn over slip stitch. I love the knit look on this one

    • @BarbaraEyre
      @BarbaraEyre 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know it's not official, but I would call it a slip stitch/single crochet hybrid or herringbone hybrid. *shrugs*

    Thank you for the tutorial. I was just a bit confused as sometimes you would yarn over again before pulling through the loops and sometimes you wouldn’t. I’m assuming it doesn’t matter that much as it still came out looking the same. A great project for gifts this year.

    The stitch has two names. This stitch is called either YOSL (yarn over slip stitch) or HDCSL (half double crochet slip stitch) - In BLO (back loop only) row 2 and in FFL (front front loop) row 3.

  • @joellamolson4095

    Your headbands look lovely, but as I work this stitch the resulting fabric curls in on itself from both sides. It does not want to lie flat. Did you block yours? I've tried starting with a foundation sc row, which helped a little, but the other side is still curling like crazy. Tried less tension, more tension, bigger hook, still curls. Any ideas?

  • @GigglezZxox
    @GigglezZxox 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm using a thinner yarn and hook, my question is what is the height of the ear warmer? from the bottom to the top? I'm going to have to do more rows but im not sure how many to get it looking as nice as yours!

    How do you get your work to not curl? I've been trying to loosen my hold when doing stitches but doesn't seem to work.

    • @HeyCarrieCrochet
      @HeyCarrieCrochet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't worry...mine did the same thing. It will straighten out when you sew it together. If that doesn't work try blocking it

    • @melissajulia07
      @melissajulia07 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m having trouble with this project rolling up. I’ve tried two types of yarn and still it rolls, making it look like my stitches are too tight, but they’re not. It’ll probably look fine by the end. If this is your first project just keep on going or try another project that uses the same yarn, and I think you’ll get a better idea of whether or not you need to loosen up your tension.
