  • In this video I explain how a Quick Spool works, Why you might want one and a brief video of how to install one and make the other necessary modifications. This is a product video for my quick spool kits I sell on my website. This only covers the kit for 97-2005.5 Non Ramp up CRV differentials and the 2003-2011 Honda Element differentials.
    There will be a different video for the 2005.5-2011 Ramp up style CRV differential kits that include the shims. THE CORRECT SIZE DRILL BIT IS NOW INCLUDED IN THE KITS.
    You can clean your differential with hot water and dish soap or with brake/carb cleaner as well. In this video the components were cleaned all the way to more detail but you should not assemble your components dry.
    You will also need a tube of Hondabond HT, and 2 bottles of Honda Dual Pump Fluid available at your Local Honda dealer or online. We offer everything you need with our master kits.
    MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT LOSE YOUR O RING WHEN TAKING OFF THE FLANGE FROM THE CLUTCH BASKET. THERE ARE TWO A RUBBER ONE AND A TEFLON ONE. WE INCLUDE A NEW RUBBER ONE WITH OUR KITS.
    This is the best and most affordable kit on the market. As I have tried different springs, different size holes and documented everything to ensure that I have a product that works.
    There will be many more videos on this subject including installation while the diff is still in the vehicle, Ramp up, plus testing my new replacement/upgraded clutches when the next batch arrives. I will also cover LSD options from other brands including the controversial "progressive" style LSD.
    Much more to come it just takes a lot of time and testing so thank you for your support!
    You can buy this from me, contact me on Instagram under the same name.

    How can we know if the CRV we're shopping for is a 2005.5? Is there something in the VIN? I guess the next question is, is the ramp up better and if I'm shopping, should I look for it? Thanks.

    • @FamspecPerformance
      @FamspecPerformance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s tricky on a 2005, look for production date on the vin tag on the door and look when it was made.

      because its hard as hell to put it together with the basket in the housing. its 70ftlbs or a couple of ugga duggas

    Wouldn't it be beneficial to upgrade the thermal switch, I found a website selling them as an upgrade aswell.

    • @FamspecPerformance
      @FamspecPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Avoid that website and those people at all costs. Just search the AWD Honda groups for their name and you will find upwards of 100 posts about people getting ripped off by them. BUT the thermal delete is for upgraded clutch packs and more for racing. Try to use it with stock packs and stock fluid and you will kill your shit quick. I have replacement clutch packs coming soon that are better then stock but suitable for street.

    Great video. What’s the difference between the 2005 and 2006 CRVs? And is the drill bit included in your kit now?

    • @FamspecPerformance
      @FamspecPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes the bit is now included. The 2006+ has what is called a ramp up assembly and requires a shim in the clutch packs. I am going to be making a video on it soon.

  • @alejandronification
    @alejandronification ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can this Kit be used when the Clutch is already making noise or does it have to be in good working order?

    • @FamspecPerformance
      @FamspecPerformance  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      IF the clutch makes noise alot of time its because of wrong fluid or low fluid. If you clutches are worn you can use the shim to take up the slack. You will be able to inspect them when you install the kit.

    Can you ship to New Zealand, Great video. My CRV is a 2002 series 2 K24a1 I've purchased a K24A2 and going to do a engine swap, I've ordered a Link G4X aftermarket plugin ECU. I've done the 50o VCT also a PRC manifold and a 70mm throttle and was hoping to do CAM's as well. so to start with I'll leave it NA but I have ordered both turbo manifolds and will work out wich setup i'll go with, what LSD would you recommend as well? I know I shouldn't play with this as I have a full on build with my Supra and a few mods on my BMW 135I 300kw at the wheels. this CRV was bought to be the dog transport but I really like it, I've never owned honda's but bought a Accord Euro for my soon to be 16 year old son K24A3 and I just liked it. I have a 4wd dyno and had a few honda guy in with 150Kw+ at the wheels with stock cams and justbolt on's and a tune. so getting the Honda bug

    Hi. What's the difference between the shim's thickness and what is the difference between the regular and master kit?

    • @FamspecPerformance
      @FamspecPerformance  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Shim thickness is based on how hard you potentially want your rear end to grab. The thicker the shim the more force is applied to the clutches but in turn the clutches wear out faster.
      The master kit comes with fluids, Hondabond, both O rings, and new drain and fill crush washers. Its everything you need.
