    I have seen similar mowers out my way for mowing the roadsides. Some of these have 3 mowing decks so they can mow a path 20ft plus wide.Alamo Industrial is the largest builder of these mowers-based in Texas.

    Do you have a device that will reach over and do the far side of the hedge where there is restricted access for a tractor?

    great video, I have the same 467 cutter. But can't figure out how to get the rams working. The flail runs fine. Just wondering if there is a valve somewhere to turn allow the fluid to flow. The hydraulics on the tractor is fine, I use it for other things no problem. Just can't get the hydraulic rams on the cutter to work. Any advice would be great! Mine looks identical to yours

      Hi. Yes there is lever that looks a bit like a wing nut that locks the arms if you turn it. It's been a while since I used it so I can't remember it's exact location

      Yep your bang on. Mine was full of crud so just cleaned it & moved it and hey presto it works fine. Cheers buddy!

    Have you had problems with causing tractor tyre ruts this year? Lots of our hedges have remained untrimmed because of the problem of ruts. I heard that there was going to be an extension on the hedge trimming period to allow farmers to catch up if it ever stops raining.

      I had worse problems last year. This year I wad able to avoid the wettest fields as we only do half the farm each year under our stewardship agreement. It's been tricky though. I can see a lot of hedges round here left untrained

    0:50 where are the chains that stop the machine from dropping on the 3pt we have the same machine with chains that go onto the top link to stop the machine dropping and keep it level

      Well spotted Ben. the chain broke and I haven't got round to replacing it. Managed to do 25 hours of hedge trimming without it though.

    Anyone planning to use one of these machines please attend a course and get ticketed first, learn how to use the machine safely. It is a legal requirement to have polycarbonate shielding over any window with a view of the blades unless the tractor manufacturer guarantees in writing that the windows are toughened glass able to withstand a flail head travelling at high speed. The offside wheels and front axle need ballasting to make up for the imbalance of the implement. Tractors should not be driven with the front end loader raised therefore raising the centre of gravity.

    My boss went and did some today, put the tractor in the ditch and almost had it over at rush hour not good

    • @thefunkyfarmer
      @thefunkyfarmer  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      easily done, ive had the front wheel go down in a ditch before and the tractor nearly went over

    Does your cutter head drop it self

    • @thefunkyfarmer
      @thefunkyfarmer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry what do you mean

    • @riordan7740
      @riordan7740 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +thefunkyfarmer I see that when the cutter head is in the air it seems to go down it self (tilt) maybe a seal gone in the hydraulic ram or something

    • @thefunkyfarmer
      @thefunkyfarmer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes. I think it does need a new seal
