How will all of these changes affect how the Surface Book 3 actually performs? I'll have to use it more to be sure. Be sure to stick around for our full review.

The reverse magnet thing to stop you from inserting the wrong screen is brilliant.

Yeah, nothing can prevent from actually installing the screen forcefully, but at least there is a huge hint not to do that. I like that!

Good video, though that "UM" after each sentence is kinda annoying!

I didn't realize that, then saw this comment while watching, and now it is annoying. Crazy how brain works

Extremely annoying, especially coming from an experienced video producer.

I mean if you are reading off a script and saying "um" thats an issue but if hes talking as he unboxes i could understand that

The surface connector has always reminded me of the old MacBook Pro Magsafe 1 chargers that's definitely not a bad thing though.

Thanks for the video. It would be great to see from you more comparisons between the SB2 and SB3. I am thinking of upgrading my SB2 but want to see if the upgrade would be worth it. I do some gaming on the machine and would like to see how much the performance boost would be between the 2 machines. Thanks... but just one tip... um is not a good word to repeat so often. 😁

I am really looking forward to it.

Thank you for the video review. Is there any advantage to getting the 15inch model with the GeForce GTX over the NVIDIA Quadro other than it being slightly lower priced? I am debating between the two and they both seem to have 6gb of video ram.

I love the choice of Vivaldi's Autumn for the background. I just got my SB3 and absolutely LOVE it. I do wonder , however, how will the Lack of a fan affect the performance

I own the Surface Book 2 w/ 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. My use is word processing (math things using LaTeX) + engineering computations (not CAD, so I could probably live without the NVIDIA card -- more CPU type computations). Before the SB 2, I owned the Surface Pro 4. I'm curious about the following:
    * Battery life -- very important. Specs seem to indicate shorter battery life for SB3 than for SB2, but this could be due to how it is measured?
    * How do the charging times compare?
    * More RAM is useful -- especially if it is faster...?
    * Faster SSD disk is useful...?
    * I have a negative impression of the SP4 and partially of the SB2 wi-fi card (Marvel) -- for some networks, it doesn't work well. Is the new intel card better?
    * CPU & computations... possible to compare SB2 vs. SB3? (E.g. the "bench" command in commercial tool MATLAB or the "peakflops()" function in free tool Julia).
    * I use the SD card for my photo hobby, so I am happy for that.
    --
Overall, I would probably wait for the Surface Pro 8 *if* it would have specs like...
    * Smaller bezels, more like the Surface Pro X
    * Option for 32 GB RAM
    * Possibly one of the newer AMD processors with more cores would be ok
    * Built in LTE card
    * Could be somewhat fatter than Surface Pro 7, with considerably better battery life.
    * I could live with a slightly inferior keyboard and with an SD card adaptor -- I like that the Surface Pro is quicker to put in inking mode + is lighter/thinner/smaller.

no mentions if MS improved the wobbling of the screen considering that it has been a known issue since the 1st generation.

Just unboxed my new surface book 3 and I've got one burning question: What is the blank colour card included with the booklets for?? Its white on one side and looks like a metalic white on the other side. There is a notation at the top X22-10811-02. It's killing me to find out why it was included!?

Hi @On MSFT. Would you recommend this laptop for heavy design usage (CAD, Rendering) and also little bit of gaming? I'm also looking forward to use this device for sketching and drawings. So do you think my expectations will fit in or is there a better laptop for my usage. It will mean a lot if you could answer. Thanks :)

audio is kind of strange it would be much preferred of there was a mic that pics up voice because background noise and other things drown out your voice and make it really difficult to hear. at first i thought you had a prerecorded voice over playing in the background as you filmed the unboxing, in other words your voice sounds like its coming out of a device speaker.

I got this last week to replace my SB2. I have to say, as a big fan of the SB2, this was a disappointment. Same, now aged, design. The biggest strange disappointment was the speakers. Extremely quiet. My phone has louder speakers. Volume cranked all the way could barely hear my buddies on discord or watch a movie with my wife. Going with the XPS 15.

Well design wise it's basically thr same except for faster ejecting of tablet and some minor improvements
As for performance wise it's a great machine witj great battery life along with a powerful processor and a great gpu.
If you do some heavy lifting on surface book 2 I'd recommend to upgrade, cause it's a massive upgrade.
If your previous one works good for you like if you do basic creative work or basic gaming then there's nothing to expect anything else from it

I”m a musician. I’ve never used a Surface Book or Pro. I need to be able to switch off “Turbo Mode” and “Connected Standby” in reg edit.Without the ability to do this, the Surface Book will be of no use to me, due to the constant power grabs that these codes are used for. If I cannot turn off Turbo mode then I will get clicks/pops in my audio/and constant “throttling” . I need maximum (or near) power resources going to my Cubase/Logic/Ableton software. According to info received, Microsoft have completely removed the ability to do this in it’s latest May 2014 update! Does your new 2020 Book have the latest update installed? If so can I simply go back to an earlier version of Windows? I haven’t used anything but an iPad for years....and I’m not relly up to date with Windows......as you can tell! Thanks. Ps, I don’t suppose you use a DAW?

I had no idea the tablet portion did not have a fan, that explains why my SB3 feels so hot, yesterday it was reading 100 Celsius (212 Fahrenheit). Is this normal?

    • @danm4320
      @danm4320 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I'm shocked it doesn't have a fan. Even my original SB has a fan. I ordered the SB3 but I hope there's no thermal throttling. Although, hot CPUs aren't a problem on their own as they do protect themselves from overheating.

I have a Surface Book 2, and i was waiting these update, but ahahahhaahh WTF of update is that? In the 2020 you come with a Quad Core, yeah the last 10 generation intel, but really a quad core?, then you talk about super graphic and the maximum is a shitty GTX, not RTX, GTX 1660ti ? You present all the other specification like new but are exactly the same of the Surface book 2 (weight, dimesion, webcams, camera, sensor, the usb ports are only gen 2 more). Then is still missing a Thunderbolt Port ???? you said that this is for professional users and is missing a Thunderbold??? Ahhhh i read about that there are security reasons to don't put a thunderbolt, ahahahh like there are non security problems also in every component CPU included. BUT the best of the best, that probably nobody knows is that with the Surface Book 3 microsoft give you Wondows 10 HOME, home?!?!?!!, WTF are you crazy? You need to buy the Surface Book 3 Business edition to have the PRO, you are completely crazy. I love my Surface Book 2, but really you ask € 3000 euro or more for something like this? PLEASE BE AWARE!
