      They go back to at least the 1950s here ... maybe earlier even. As far as I recall, it was one of the first national brands in South Africa... along with Omo, SAB, Edgar’s

      Funny story the Lion King script was stolen by Disney from a manga (Japanese Comic) written by Osamu Tezuka and also the Salt and Viniger and Fruit Chutney Simba are the best.

      @keamogetswemodisane2149 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True. But Simba means Lion in Swahili(Kenyan Language), so it makes sense why the brand is Simba and why there's Simba in the Lion King

    Favourite South African snax include koeksisters (the braided syrup ones please!!!), biltong (preferably kudu, like one big chunk as big as porterhouse steak, that you have to cut pieces off with a sharp knife), Ouma buttermilk rusks (please dunk it in coffee before attempting to eat it), Peppermint Crisp chocolate, Tennis biscuits, Cream Soda (its a soda, green in colour, makes me think of the BFG), Rooibos tea (herbal tea, great with honey and full cream milk), milk tart, King Pie savoury pies!! Well, guess you will have to visit South Africa to taste all this fresh.

    1. Biltong is a must, "KoekSisters" however are 50/50 it is basically a type of puff pastry baked in syrup, which gets absorbed into the pastry, you may like if you really like sweet stuff. 2. "MilkTart (2ways) 2.1 is a desert with cinnamon powder dusted on top. 2.2 As a shooter drink, mix 1xBottle Red Smirnoff vodka with 3x tins of condensed milk and 4x tins of evaporated milk and shake it all together in a big enough bottle. Pour into shot glasses and sprinkle cinnamon dust on top -Yummy-. 3. Mama's Pies, it is a frozen puff pastry with a meat filling that you bake and then eat (Pepper Steak is my fav), if you have a good gravy sauce, pour over the top just before eating, it finishes it off quite nicely. Those are my top 3

      Nazlie Galer Agreed, and they are also not baked in syrup. They are dunked in syrup, after frying.
