      Jateen - Biltong is preserved meat, it does not go off. The reason why biltong was not sent are because of laws preventing people sending certain foods over the world spreading diseases. However, It can be done after A SHITLOAD of legal paperwork which makes it not worthwhile for a single package.

    Hi guys, you look like a realy friendly family. By the way, I'm from South Afrika and just love your comments and facial expesions from every taste. You guys rock!
    You had but a very small sample of the wide spread of snacks from SA, but it is obviously not possible to send all the snacks in a handy little box. From my point of view (taste) I do not think you had some of our better snacks in that box, although those aren't too bad at all. To my taste, our best snack is unique to SA and is called biltong. It is made from meat (dried and spiced to taste), so not for vegaterians, but they are simply delisious. google it?? Since it is made from meat I'm not sure if it would be easy to get them into your country, but if you can, do try! However, you're welcome to visit SA and taste to your hards content.If you would ever visit, you'll find the dollar Rand exchange well in your favour, thus a tour to SA will be relitively cheap for you. Hope to see you guys over here soon. By the way, I live in the Gauteng province in the city called Centurion.....

    Oh well, there are Americans and South Africans who've said that there should be more cultural exchanges between the two countries. An example I'd say is with music, and an example is country music. Another is food, and an example is pumpkin recipes. South Africans generally tend to have a fascination for all things American. The two countries have also had similar histories. For instance both started as partly Dutch, and then British, colonies.
    Preferably no politics.
    It also seems like almost whatever happens in the one country also happens in the other. For instance in 1994 both moved more away from isolation and into the international community. In South Africa it was with the first democratic elections, and in the USA it was with the Soccer World Cup. (And then, South Africa moved more towards that with the 2010 Soccer World Cup.)

    I am from South Africa as well, and I don't think the Tex is the most popular chocolate here haha, don't know where they got the facts on that one. Not a big fan of the Wonder Bar either, there are much better treats that they could have added to the box.

    • @MartinJohnsonOffGridLiving
      @MartinJohnsonOffGridLiving  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Euline Botha maybe the cheap stuff is considered most popular because they sell the most? Maybe it was judged by volume sold. I don't know.

    Enjoyed watching this video. It's been nearly 3 years - Have you guys visited South Africa yet?
    Pity about the Fizzers that melted and the Tex Chocolate being so small. The Milo Chocolate bar is pronounced (My-low). You guys will definitely survive in South Africa - We have an abundance of delicious snacks, treats and AMAZING food!

    The fact is in America your guys choclates are rubbish and your guys deserve better. We feed flings to babies here when they start eating solids. Creme Soda is a soft drink here in South Africa. Most of stuff you"ll received comes in regular size. Toppers come in several flavours and made by Bakers in South Africa. Pronounced My lo here comes as an instant drink, powdered form or as a choclates bar.

    Hey, I'm from South Africa and these are not the best we have! The Milo bar is pronounced Mye-low. Fizzers are incredible but not when melted! They're supposed to be fairly rigid. There should have been some better chips, some drinks and at least some biltong! That would've been awesome. But good video!
