Interesting... our shiba inu puppy is getting at 4 months a walk roughly every 3 hours, 15-45 minutes each time out. So, that is about 6 times in a day and the first and last walks of the day are shorter. By average standards, that seems to be quite a lot but we are always wondering if that is enough because she is still a bit overactive at times. We also have an older shiba (1.5 y.o.), who gets about 3 hours in a day. Before we got the puppy, who is keeping her busy, we also thought that was not enough because she was still biting our furniture. So, when I read/hear that they need at least 1 hour a day, I can't imagine how ours would take it, if she got only 1 hour.

I take my 8-9 month old shiba neutered male out 4x a day . Approximately 2-3 miles per day total. Also, before my dog got neutered, I swear to God at three months to six months old he could literally go all day. His energy was insanely high like forever charging battery. But now I can take him out 3x a day on a lazy day with like 2 indoor play sessions during the day and he’s good. He still can go for a while but it’s not endless like b4

this was really helpful, thank you. How can I slowly let my shiba get used to socializing? I've brought him to the dog park a few times, and he's still getting into fights with other dogs.

I walk my dog 20 minutes first thing in the morning, and 30 minutes in the early evening, and then we play in the yard 30 minutes before bed. On weekends or when the weather is particularly nice we go out longer or to a park. It is not enough.
