    This is really good info and I'd like to supplement the "High activity needs" section;
    I think the number one thing that causes negative behavior is boredom. They need physical exercise but they're so smart they need mental exercise just as much, if not more. My shiba loves chasing a ball in the garden as that tickles the part of his brain where his prey drive lives. More than that is when we have some left-over roast chicken and we use it as a training treat. I find it's almost impossible to teach him a new trick without it. Another game he loves is when we lock him in a different room and then hide lots of treats (or chicken!) around our main living area. We let him back in and his tail is wagging hard (in that weird shiba way where it looks like it's going to snap off) as he scampers around, sniffing out the food.
    Even if he has had all of his walks, he will get naughty if he isn't played with. And by naughty I mean stealing socks and underwear from the clothes airer, shredding any paper or card he can get his jaws around (he shredded a sweet hand-made father's day card from my kids 😥), as well as clawing people's legs and barking at them - not so bad in winter but actually pretty painful in summer when I'm chilling in my shorts.
    Some days the weather is against you and you can't really go out for a long walk so I've used all the games above (and more - we have some dog puzzles that you can lock food in) to stimulate him and tire his brain out so he can still have his sleeps.
    I love playing with my boy and seeing what an intelligent little person he is. I wouldn't swap him for any other dog. I love him with all my heart and he has a special place in our family.

    Another con is they are escape artist. You must ensure there is no possible way to escape your yard because they will figure it out and once they do they will remember it.

    Love your opening statement about Shibas being a walking contradiction 😂
    I live alone with a Shiba and we compliment each other nicely. Such a rewarding dog if you do the work to gain their trust and truly understand your Shiba 🐕.

    I have question,will shibas become friends with other dogs when they raised from a baby?

      All I can say is that it depends on the dog's upbringing and personality. Some dogs, even if raised from puppies, are aggressive towards other dogs and do not make many friends. However, many of the Shiba Inu dogs around me (including my own dog) let down their guard and become good friends after meeting them a few times. Of course, there may be times when you just don't get along and you have to give up on being friends. However, once you let go, conflicts rarely occur and you can remain friends forever.

      Please forgive me if some of the translations are incorrect. Once the Shiba Inu gets along well with other dogs, there will be little conflict and they will likely remain friends for a long time.

      @@kuniakinakatsu7107My 10 week old Shiba puppy is generally very friendly towards other people and dogs unless they decide to be aggressive first. I think it really just depends on their personalities
