It’s that time of the year again and we have a new Fedora ready to blow our minds.
Fedora 39, is geared for a massive update as this time, we’re getting a refreshed new desktop, a new engine under the hood, performance refinements and a lot more.
Fedora is very special because it’s a mainstream Linux distro used by millions of people and at the same time, it’s one of the biggest innovators we have. Fedora is an open source champion that challenges the status quo and dares to redefine what desktop Linux experience means. Thus it brings many new things with every release, and this is exactly what makes every new version of Fedora mind blowingly exciting.
I’ve been playing around with Fedora 39 and I’m really excited to bring it to you. So let’s jump right in and crack this countdown.
Thank you 👍🎉 for your video. Excellent production and explanation as usual.
Fedora is such beautiful and well thought Linux distro! It worked well on my laptop when I gave it a try.
This is going to be my second ever distro to use since I joined the Linux OS. It looks so professional!
Is this a video about Fedora 39, or Gnome 45? Cause, really, they didn't change anything. It just got a new version of Gnome and a new kernel. Big deal.
Nothing changed under the hood, just upgraded the version and the packages and this TH-camr is making statement like it's an overall redesigned distro.
Just gnome 45 and new kernel and few other under the hood version updates of packages that it. Don't know why this video is showing its new or ground breaking. 😢
After trying a bit with it, I think Fedora is one of the best of linux.
Why?
Can you do a comparison between fedora 39 and ubuntu 23.10?
Watched this clip and 95% of it can also apply to the latest Ubuntu (23.10). Until now, what I saw different in 1 day:
1. Ubuntu seems to not have changed the default image viewer (almost sure)
2. Same GS version, same kernel
3. The new Ubuntu installer is do fast, the fastest I saw in my Linux experience until now
4. Ubuntu ships with some Gnome Shell extensions like Desktop, AppIndicators, the vertical Ubuntu dock and the new one, corner/half-screen-etc. tiling manager, a very good addition. Afaik, Fedora does not come with any extension, which is a bummer from a productive perspective.
I like the new gnome update but the menu icon position in the file manager just feels off. Hope there will be a way to move to the left side.
Do we need to install extra codecs and rpm-fusion in this release since we have the option to allow 3. party software during installation? Thanks for another wonderful video.
Another very informative review...well thought out...hits the bullet points....packed so much info in such a short space of time.Well done.I would be interested, in hearing your take on SparkyLinux.
this is gnome 45 review not a fedora review
I rely on KDE anyway, so 45 is not a draw for me
Fedora with GNOME is more user friendly than any other desktop OS.
Really, really cool!
I deleted new image viewer, so in my Arch Linux I install the the old EOG ^_^ it's more faster!
I was a Ubuntu user since a long. But now switch to Fedora 38 as I was facing some issues with it. FEDORA, Its such a peace of mind. 😊. I don't think I will be using Ubuntu again.
Now eagerly waiting for 39. Thank you for your video. As usual excellent 👌 production and very useful information. Eagerly waiting for FEDORA 39 🎉.
I literally upgraded my Fedora 37 to 38 few hours ago and you post this video 😅
Fedora 39 is still in beta right now, right?
Right.. releasing coming week
Is there a reason you sat on 37 for so long?
@@ordinaryhuman5645I've heard, sometimes ago, someone always -1 current version of Fedora (ie if current is 38 they use 37, so on so forth) reason? Dunno, bugs related thingy maybe.
@@ordinaryhuman5645 This was actually the first time I upgraded a Linux distro (I was on KDE Neon previously and its base was still on 20.04 and based on others’ experiences I was scared to upgrade, fearing that something like dependencies might break) and I got the proper free time only now to backup all my data and upgrade it to 38.. also another reason is stability - I did NOT want to deal with stability issues based on my previous distros’ experience, and just the idea that if I waited longer, any potential bugs would be fixed by the time I upgrade Fedora
@@ordinaryhuman5645 Don't complain, I'm about to reimage my F35 machine to 39.
Bro, Jingos review!
TWS not work with fedora 39 why?
Fedora ❤
still wifi problem on 2014 mac mini?
You should actually run a full update - then you have Linux 6.6 as well as Wayland standard out of the box.
But why, when I can use Ubuntu? :D
Wait until they put telemetry in there.
Hi
Seems interesting..
0:05 , MacBooks are getting Fedora ? WTH is happening
One of the things I don't like, and costs me a lot of time, is that with a lot of Linux Distro's you have to completely make a new install, in case of updates.
How about FEDORA WITH THIS ...???
I've upgraded from 37->38 without an issue, no need to reinstall. 39 also supports direct upgrades.
Skill issue
Nice GNOME review... (not Fedora)
this is GNOME review, NOT a Fedora review 🤪
but i still love debian 12, for me it's enough
I just got Fedora 39 KDE installed on my laptop installed. I like Fedora 39 KDE because it's more responsive and has more customization than Windows 11. It's also faster and smoother. I don't really play games on my laptop so I'm good with KDE Fedora 39. I 'm enjoying Fedora KDE 39 so far.
Since when does Arnold Schwarzenegger do Gnome Videos?
👍

your English is great but please work on the word "Modular"
Please do a video about Arch Linux Please
Review & How ti install it dual boot with windows ❤
could you please pronouce Fedora correctly.
Fedora do nothing. Only integrate the current gnome version and put their kernel in the OS. . 38 and 39 is full of bugs. Example, you cannot use Maispring 1.11. Only the older version 1.10. Within 6 month they were not able to fix the problem.
I prefer Ubuntu
First
Amazing Production Quality

Mate you're reviewing the desktop environment not the OS. Gnome is horseshit imo but to each to their own.
I think the only real change in 39 is dnf5 will be defaulted and a new kernel.
Just a bunch of fluff
Nice
It is LTS ? I cant find that info.
Greetings!
95% of it can also apply to the latest Ubuntu (23.10). Until now, what I saw different after one day since getting 23.10:
1. Ubuntu seems to not have changed the default image viewer (almost sure)
2. Same GS version, same kernel, some Gnome apps don't come with Ubuntu (Gnome Weather is one)
3. The new Ubuntu installer is so fast, probably the fastest I saw in my Linux experience until now
I really like most of the Ubuntu customizations.
apt is lot better than dnf
@@sreenivasulu7554 how apt is better than dnf?
Hi, I like the XFCE theme. Where can I find it?
Have you not heard of Google?
"one of the biggest innovators" *** Still uses crappy installer that doesn't know how to install alongside windows when space is already freely available..., Doesn't scale on hdpi monitors, UI is designed for almost blind people even when adjusting the scaling setting to the lowest icons still look bigger than an elefant! Package manager is still a disaster and most mirrors aren't synced up...
Lol man you are roasting this man or fedora.
Ngl the first time I tried fedora it messed up my boot loader, thankfully it works fine now after reinstalling it
