Got one of these for 8th grade graduation. All my buddies had mopeds. The guys who had the Sprees could put a 12 pack on the floorboard. We would ride in the middle of the pack surrounded by the others so it was harder for the cops to see the beer. Good times.
My parents bought me one, has the same kick starter and everything, it was one of the last things they Both bought for me. I still have it and working t o get it back up and into running order.
I had a Spree just like this! Bought it from a kid who had gotten a Helix; man I envied that Helix but loved riding the Spree all over the neighborhood and in the woods. Good times!
5-15mpg lags a bit but it really takes off between 15-25! A little too fast to be considered a kids toy. Love my spree. Doesn't look nearly as nice as yours though. Nice review
Great vid. Ive got the exact same thing.. similar condition.. can't wait for spring.. so much fun to cruise around town on. After 4 years of summer cruisin I killed the engine. I just put a new piston in this weekend.. big bore..I'm still in the break in period but it's definitely peppier now, I haven't opened it all the way up yet though. I'm just hoping it gets close to 35. It would hit 28 on flat if I was lucky before.
I had one back in the day. We adjusted the throttle cable and drilled holes in the exhaust system. The result was about Ten MPH faster so it could run around 50MPH!! was awesome until my idiot brother took it on the trails and jumped a dirt mound and completely bent the frame!! Loved my moped..
Sounds like you have a Honda elite 80s If they have a wind screen. Did you sell it. I'm in Missouri and will drive there to get it any time if the price is right.

I had a 1985 Spree. I bought it new. I wish I still had it. I almost bought a 2016 Genuine Venture 50cc until I found out they're made in China. I have more faith in something made in Japan than I do in something made in China.
That one is clean. Grew up in small town Indiana where everyone had one of these. I imagine several of these are collecting dust in barns/garages throughout the Midwest.

Hey Gary, would you know by any chance what size is the overall diameter of the tires? I’m considering doing a 150 elite swap on a 79 Honda express2. I have a crank and no start condition on the original engine and I’m not sure if I want to keep it, it has 130 psi of compression has gas and spark I know the top end is good but have no means of doing a leak down test on the bottom end. I've sold them years ago..Just copy and pasted on the video on Craigslist for my local people to see how they operate if there interested in buying..Plus other people across the country just to check them put also if they never got to see them in action..There very fun To Tool around on and very dependable... Actually very fast accelerating for what they are. Top end governor at 30 mph due to Government regulations. I have a different spree that tops out at 36 mph. which is not bad for its size. Thanks for watching my Video.

Same. I got a used crashed Honda Elite. It wouldn't start got for around 10 bucks.

you still need plates??? I thought if it was under 50cc you could get away with not registering it or getting plates for it.

Yes You need a License plate in Minnesota, you have to check with your own state. just no DL needed.

Once there in rough shape people sell um from 100 to 500 on marketplace and craigslist I got a 85 with almost 700 miles

What do you think the weight limits are on a 87 spree
I weighed 240 lbs and still rode it around.. It still went fast enough for me.. I since dropped to 170lbs. So now they get off the line way fast.
I hold the throttle down it bogs out even with a smaller guy on it not sure what the issue is not even 1,000 miles on it
@@joshshusta2862 Sounds like the air mixture screw is not set right. And maybe one of the Jets in the Carb is alittle dirty.
