I just bought this exact helmet. On my way home I hit a tar patch in the middle of a turn. This helmet saved my life. After the wreck the troopers and emts could not locate the front face shield or visor. I traveled 1100 feet skidding and rolling. I think the face shield came off quick as I have sand and gravel in my mouth. I'll buy the same helmet again though!
Wow... glad you're safe! It's important to wear gear and cases like these, as unfortunate as they are, are the reason why. Stay safe and heal fast. And important again to reiterate to everyone, as you mentioned above, that this is a 3/4 helmet and the front plate isn't impact rated.
I haven't had issues with that... Having said that there are helmets out there with better visibility. This one's more style over substance though a very good example of that.
Thanks for being the first to put up a quick review of this helmet. I just have two quick questions: 1. Is the internal shape intermediate oval? 2. Is it possible for you to shoot a short showing the peak visor off?
Thanks for watching. It's an intermediate oval, according to Icon. Their website has a nice rotating breakdown video of the helmet. You can see it without the peak or facemask there. :) rideicon.com/gear/helmets/elsinore/monotype/red
Generally speaking, no. For various reasons, but mainly because it has a tinted face shield, and would need to be swapped out in the evening (which it can be, but it's a process). Also if your trip takes several days, the noise, while reduced, is still more pronounced than a more dedicated ADV helmet. I would still recommend this for every day commuting. It's light, comfortable and looks cool.
The promo video showed that the 'face shield' comes off indicating you could use goggles. Correct me if I'm wrong. P.S. I'm waiting for mine to get shipped
Yeah true. I didn't realize that when I did the review. But why would you want to. Plenty of other helmets can already do that without having to remove anything. I say if you're doing serious dirt biking, get a more appropriate helmet.

I like the concept but the viewport just seems too small. Does the small lense hinder visibility?

Any similar style helmets with a “street fighter” look you like better?
So is it more orange than red?
I would say so yes...

@@VectorBurnOfficial Perfect! Thanks again.
Would you say it could be a good adventure bike helmet?
Okay nvm I just seen what you said at the end lol

thanks for the review. Do you think the tinted lens is too dark for night riding?
Yes but it is replaceable. They sell clear ones I'm pretty sure.
