Yo! So I just wanna put out some updates after the remastered version of "Raining During the Day" which you can listen to right now!:
0:28 - Slightly turn up the Hardness under the Velocity tab. I think it just sounds better.
0:34 - I didn't clearly explain this well. But you DON'T have to find a midi file if you can sample it out and make it work. I don't recommend sampling songs played by like a band or orchestra or something-it has to be minimal. I did so since I was looking for a Rhodes Piano sound to pair it with. If you are finding a midi file, search for midi files that are from piano arrangements.
1:27 - I removed the Izotope Vinyl effects since I don't like it being used on the Rhodes Piano. I find it muffling the sound too much to the point where the melody was too quiet and increasing the gain w/ the Fruity Compressor made it sound awful. I think the natural sound of the Rhodes is already perfect. Still keep it for the Rain sound, though.
1:36 - I switched to Fruity Delay 3 over 2 since it sounds better overall and you can mess around with tempo changes without the delay effect breaking. You can have the song slow down without the delay breaking or stopping for some reason. Fruity Delay 2 does not support automation clips of the tempo/bpm.
2:14 - Before, I would Maximus my Master and set it to the Lofi preset. I find this also muffling my Rhodes piano and the bass sounded pretty muted and unnatural. So I decided to Maximus only the Kicks, Snares, Hats, Rides, and others. Leave the Rhodes and Bass alone.
2:42 - Boost more of the Trebles and High Mids than I did for this video. Rather than turning up the mids, bring it down a little to increase clarity.
2:51 - These days, I don't EQ my kicks unless I really want it to be super punchy. So leave it alone if it sounds good by itself!
➤ It wasn't mentioned in this video for some reason (sorry) but sidechain the bass with the kicks. You can find tutorials on how to do that on youtube. Helps the kicks be a lot clear without the bass muffling it.
➤ The Rhodes Piano by itself is very quiet even if it's maxed out on the mixer. Use a compressor and increase the gain to where you like it.
➤ I also didn't show how to set up the Basslines properly in this video. I basically just used the lowest notes (tonic notes of the chords) of the song and added some variation. Just play around with it really.
    That's all!

Great job dude ! I'm also a lofi producer, and I was wondering where did you get the midi format? That would be a good tip for me cause I'm not a good piano player 😅

Thank you! And I took a peek at your channel and I gotta say, you're an amazingly good lofi producer. The midi files I got were specifically from: josh.agarrado.net/music/anime/ which contains mostly anime songs in midi format. If you're not looking for anime stuff, then generally, the midi we want to look for are piano arrangements, so I hope this tip will greatly help you with your productions. Have Fun!
