Both me and my brother genetically can grow a beard but he had trouble growing more than little thin hair follicles (but the hair was there) and i had easily grown a full goatee and mustache but had the little follicles as well on my cheeks so we both decided to use minoxidil to speed things up, to keep it short we both grew full beards 3-4 months. My problem was shaving too frequently! (Twice a week) Zero growth for a whole year. Letting it grow out for around 2-4 months before trimming or shaving is very important for growth. Oils as well. I’ve seen a ton of people with same problem shaving too often now they have way more full beards or like me it’s finally starting to sprout in different areas! Much hope for my future beard brothers!!
I've recently started using 5% minoxidil 1ml twice a day on my face. It's been 4 days since I've been using it and it dries my skin to the point I can see some skin flakes and my beard starts itching a few hours after application, I'm thinking of throwing it out and getting the foam version.
TIP NUMBER 6: You don't need to apply 1 ml per time. That's the quantity recommended for the scalp. Some guys have reported great results even with 3-4 drops for each cheek. In this way you minimize side effects even further.
Thank you you have gave me good terms I’ve been trying to let my grow and I’ve been stuck have been not learning nothing so I appreciate what you just show me on your video

Thanks Nick! I was using a dermapen (and still do), much prefer it to a roller. I'd only use it once every 2-4 weeks or so on a 2mm setting. I'd usually let it heal for a day before applying minoxidil, otherwise it stung like a beeatch.

Half life of monoxidil is 4 days, so 24 hours apart it's still about 75% in your system. I only apply once a day for this reason. Btw if anyone hasn't started yet, definitely do it works wonders.
Hi nice information, just a quick question. So I leave my minoxidil on for 4 hours, once I wash it off, is it okay to apply moisturiser straight after or must I wait or leave it ? Thanks for reading
Thank you jerelle! That is the recommended time but I'd say do what suits your own schedule best and see if it works. Usually, in the morning I'd let it dry and apply moisturiser not long after (purely because I didn't want to be at work with dry ass skin). There is the balance between what's (supposedly) most effective and whats convenient for your fine self
So, I switched from liquid to foam to avoid dry skin. However, I did a bit of research and read that liquid penetrates more and gives you a more systemic effect where you'll see more body hair say on your arms and chest. I wouldn't mind that since I have body hair but they only hairy part are my legs. Did using foam have this type of effect on you where you started to see more body hair?
What if you still have bare face though? Does it really matter whether you use liquid or foam? Because I’m pretty sure the liquid penetrates the skin better for guys who already have a beard going on but if you still have little to no facial hair then I don’t think using the liquid version is gonna make a difference
yes. never used the liquid one, only use the foam for a month now and i see more body hair, especially on my arms. it gets thicker and i don't mind it, it's a nice side effect for me.
You can melt the foam to a liquid, apply and it will dry just as fast, so you get the foam's fast-drying benefit and it may be more effective. Put the foam in a cap or a bowl and melt the foam with a hairdryer. It's possible that the difference in effectiveness might be the ingredients (maybe the foam you're using has less Minox), however, you could add micro-needling/derma rolling to your routine and double your results; more plates more dates has a video on this. Guys it works I have my beard now, took 5 damn months Jesus Christ 🙄 almost gave up until months 2 I saw them baby hairs kick in overnight 😎 that gave me hope to complete the other 3 months. I use liquid for the first 2 months (bought a extra bottle bad idea) liquid is the worst bro omg don't buy that shit for your beard. It dries your skin so much 😭 and it's so itchy. Foam is King 🤩. My routine is, derma-role twice a week (Monday and Thursday) use the foam twice a day and if you have the liquid you want to implement Castor oil in between 1st and second use (liquid dries your skill really bad). And that's it you should have a beard In no time.
What about any heart problems? I don't care about the dry skin, but some guys experience rapid heart beat, blood pressure problems. did you have that???
I had really bad beard I had to use it for 4 years and still need may be more 6 months. I am 44 years old may be because of the age its taking longer ?
Guys that are older should not try Minoxidil. Im in my 40’s and tried it a few years ago and it made me look 10 years older. This wasn’t just me but other guys in there 40’s and 50’s had similar results. Your skin will go back to looking your age.
I didn’t experience this but understand others have, from what I read they tend to go after a week or two but would recommend doing some extra readings to confirm that
Yes. I did but it goes away and doesn't happens from the next time don't worry but if ur skin rashes or becomes red then there's prblem for me it doesn't have any effect in my skin
Has anyone had any head hair loss after coming off minoxidil? Have read in multiple places about risk of hair loss if you stop using minoxidil but not sure if it would apply if you where using minoxidil for beard growth
Minoxidil is a stimulant, if you use it for hair they will stop growing once you stop because the hair die out and regenerate on the head, beard hair works different
No I didn't have any scalp shed, although I have heard of this as a temporary side effect, worth doing a little googling on (sorry my own experience isn't much help)
It causes shedding for the first week but that actually doesnt make any difference. I noticed denser hair after a while so thats not a biggie (using it for 1.5 year)
How precise do you have to be when applying the substance to your face to ensure symmetrical hair growth? Does it not need to be 100% precise? or what?
I shave after a god progress maybe a month of progress and it's shedding now, so i think shaving was not a good idea, just trim but not shave to perfect clean
I mostly want to use minoxidil to fill in some patchy spots near my chin and around my lips but for the most part I grow a pretty full beard and I keep it grown out most of the time. Would it be better to shave it down and apply minoxidil to my entire face or would it also work to just keep my beard long and put it on the spots where I want more hair to come in?? I'd appreciate any advice
So can I do my skin care like CTM and then apply minoxidil on my face and let it sit on my face for the entire night and wash it the next day morning ?

Hi I want to find out, does it really work? I have beards but they are mostly under my chin I wish there can be some on my cheek as well as connecting to my top lip part
Actually u only need to leave it on for 40 mins then wash off. Because everything that is going into the skin is already in by then.. while minimizing side effects. The rest u said is pretty accurate
@@oliverprstholm8716 i assume so but based on my own results.... Dont want to go all crazy with it.
Liquid is far more effective tha foam. Learnt from experience.
yes.
never used the liquid one, only use the foam for a month now and i see more body hair, especially on my arms.
it gets thicker and i don't mind it, it's a nice side effect for me.

@@Speedgamer2015 in my case .. i found the liquid to work alot better .. sits on the skin and keeps dishing it out i guess .. my growth is alot better now gone liquid
Thank you bro! Can I put moisturising cream on before applying it to avoid dry skin?
I don't have the genetics to grow a beard. Started using Minoxidil on August 17th. So far I have not seen any results but Im willing to wait.
Is there still hope to grow one? Let me know
Yeah I have really dry skin my skin soaks up alot of oils and stuff and I just got the hims because it was cheaper and then i used the derma roller omg that was painful It messed my face up badly and I have different products I use for my face and I wait til after I shower to do everything but your tips are very helpful my trans bro did tell me to get the foam version I should have got that and I have sensitive skin to
thanx for the tips men !
Cheers for the video, just starting my journey to fix the scraggle daggles
Solid advice. Thanks.

can anyone else see loads of hair with there phone flash but not as much without?
It could also be that the older you get it develops on its own. I’ve never used minoxidil on my beard but it looks thicker now than in my early 20s
Almost 3 months On minoxidil and it’s really working for me I’m starting to grow hair on the sides and build a little mustache
Do u have hairs on soul patch before using minox ??
@@shashwatmudgal7072 yes
@@shashwatmudgal7072 nope I had no mustache or hair on the sides just a little beard on my chin yet again I’m young so minox helped speed up the process
@@htown2025How old are you?

When you derma-rolled on same day as using the minoxidil (foam or liquid), did that cause any negative effects?
I’m on the third year and I still see results when I was 1 year I had results but now is way better
Any head hair shedding?
What about any heart problems? I don't care about the dry skin, but some guys experience rapid heart beat, blood pressure problems. did you have that???
Thanks boss- very helpful!
I had really bad beard I had to use it for 4 years and still need may be more 6 months. I am 44 years old may be because of the age its taking longer ?
do the liquid form it's way more effective
44 it’s just not ment to be mate
@@TopVillain You never know for sure, some people for some mystical reason suddenly grow a beard in their 50s
Can I use the beard oil: (castor, jojoba and peppermint oil combo mix) after applying minoxidil?
No
Yes …You can ,after 4 to 5 hours of putting on the minox.
Yes
Wait 4 hrs
Guys that are older should not try Minoxidil. Im in my 40’s and tried it a few years ago and it made me look 10 years older. This wasn’t just me but other guys in there 40’s and 50’s had similar results. Your skin will go back to looking your age.
nice vid mate
Thanks man , I started my journey last night but I am feeling heart palpitations have you had that for the first time .
Hey i have getting heart pain
Please help
Has anyone had any head hair loss after coming off minoxidil? Have read in multiple places about risk of hair loss if you stop using minoxidil but not sure if it would apply if you where using minoxidil for beard growth
Minoxidil is a stimulant, if you use it for hair they will stop growing once you stop because the hair die out and regenerate on the head, beard hair works different
Hey man, have you experience any scalp sheddings? Interested in trying minox and it's really the only thing holding me back
I have been using for 2months and have experienced it
No I didn't have any scalp shed, although I have heard of this as a temporary side effect, worth doing a little googling on (sorry my own experience isn't much help)
It causes shedding for the first week but that actually doesnt make any difference. I noticed denser hair after a while so thats not a biggie (using it for 1.5 year)
@@abirhossain3983 Was this using minox only for beard growth, or using it for head hair+beard or just head hair?
@@RazorWolfy512 i just used it for beard growth and it worked really well
How precise do you have to be when applying the substance to your face to ensure symmetrical hair growth? Does it not need to be 100% precise? or what?
I was on minoxidil, It made my face have swelling , I’m now choosing to get a facial hair transplant!
I literally just got the liquid in today... Maybe I should return it and get the foam.
Very helpful info 👍
Applying to beard causes scalp hair to fall?? Have read in multiple places
. Please help.🤔🤔
Thanks for the info boss
My minoxidil is coming in tomorrow, and I already tried the derma roller yesterday. Looks like I’m in for a journey 😅
Love the video big help. Any other tips since making this ? Or am I all good ?
I shave after a god progress maybe a month of progress and it's shedding now, so i think shaving was not a good idea, just trim but not shave to perfect clean
Im the opposite, foam give me more dry skin. So I switched to drops, it works better, for me.
If you got little facial hair is it advisable to shave the little facial hair before using or you can just apply it
How long (minutes or hours) should I wait before putting moisturizers on the beard area after the minoxidil?
u got my subscribe man I hope I can get that much beard 🧔 I am on week #80 on Minoxidil but it sucks that my TH-cam got terminated gotta start posting my Weekly updates
Hey! Give us an update please. How’s it going for you?
How did you get subs
Based.
How long after applying foam is it OK for my kids to touch my face or is it not OK at all? Kind of a problem for me!
I'm not aware of it being harmful to kids at all, although it may taste gross for them
Really good info
Well because I’m much further than OP is with my natural beard growth, I wonder how minoxidil will perform for me.
Vitamin b12 for hair growth helps..💇♂️
Hi I want to find out, does it really work? I have beards but they are mostly under my chin I wish there can be some on my cheek as well as connecting to my top lip part
I would use it but I don’t want bad skin. My skin isn’t the best right now as it is.
You got awesome results. Did you derma roll too?
The third point is not clear to me. Should I stoop shaving to see progress?
Actually u only need to leave it on for 40 mins then wash off. Because everything that is going into the skin is already in by then.. while minimizing side effects. The rest u said is pretty accurate
Does a dermaroller help shorten the time it needs to stay on?
That's wrong
For foam, maybe. Liquid, definitely not 40 mins
Based.
@@oliverprstholm8716 i assume so but based on my own results.... Dont want to go all crazy with it. But twice a week is sufficient.. what i do is I put the product on twice a day for 40 mins each time, then moisturize with coconut oil and derma roll twice a week... I started noticing actual results after like 8 weeks.... also just a heads up, dont fall victim to wat all these fools say about leaving shit on for hrs on end everyday.. your body absorbs everything it needs from just about any product u put on after 30 minutes everything is pure side effect lol..
Did you lose hair on your head? I heard of shedding and that’s what I’m afraid of. If you stop early will you lose the facial hair you did have?
If ya can awnser me this i got a full beard but the chin and connectors are very weak , wich one do i need foam or liquid for the best and fastest results? Least chances of side effects everyone says foam but allot say use the liquid is way more potent and do i need a face wash? Cuz i just use water and how about a beard wash? And i dont use moisterizer do i need that?
What brand and what percentage did you use, what product? Cheers
It just depends on genetics not everyone can grow a full beard in there 20s sometimes people get a full beard by there 30s
I wish I started minoxidil in early 20s
any side effects? like heart palpitations, hair loss on the head??
Can I apply oil on my head after I wear the minoxidil cos my head gets really dry and itchy
