    When you said “your body wants you to feel good” I wanted to cry. After having RA for 8 years now and various ugly skin rashes I’ve always thought my body hated me and wanted me dead… But you’ve given me hope. Thank you.

    I have had really great results with as little as 36 hours of fasting. The most I've done so far is 72 hours. Its helped me in the following ways: (1) reduce or eliminate inflammation (mine is mainly in my lower back.) (2) Increased mental capacity - I can think more clearly, and I can process more sensory information at once. (3) General sense of well-being. My mood and sense of well being increases dramatically. (4) More internal fire - I feel more confident, motivated, courageous and focused in terms of my own work.

    Please don't dumb them down. The major reason I subscribed and started watching all of your videos is because of the scientific details like, specific enzymes, metabolic pathways, and getting deep into were all is coming from. This is the only fitness channel that I can say it's completely worth sitting down and actually listen to every detail. Keep up the good work.

      Milton Rodriguez I completely agree with you. Society has dumbed down so much that it seems many adults want things explained to them in a picture book. We curious and intellectual types need channels like this with substance.

    Yes! Before watching your vids I fasted for 4 days and inflammation was reduced significantly! Watching your vids has changed my life...eliminated soy products...increased healthy protein mostly fish and eggs...healthy fats...turmeric 3x daily...calcium/mag before bedtime and slept 8 hours! Lastly...DHEA taken in the morning...I am pain free...can't believe it!! I'm 49 and feel in incredible!💪☺️

      Cindy G you do not need to eat every 3 hours nor do you need to eat immediately when you wake up. These are basically diet myths. What matters is your total caloric intake throughout a day or week. There have been studies suggesting that there is no benefit with eating every few hours verses 2 to 3 meals a day.

      Eating every 3 hrs will keep your insulin raised thereby negating any weight loss. Instead of eating breakfast, work out and have your first meal afterwards.

      See my entry above. I haven't changed the substance of my meals during intermittent fasting but we generally avoid processed foods and eat a variety of veggies with our meals. During the fasting period each day I drink black tea or coffee and lots of water but absolutely nothing else. I don't skimp on my evening meal.

    A group im on keeps talking about doing 3 day water fast. Decided to try for myself for 1 day. Felt good, no hunger or any migraines, still have a lot of energy. Decided to do 1 more day. Now its Day 5 for me :) Im listening closely to my body. Told myself that if I ever feel any extreme headache, nausea or starving or any scary symptom then Im going to break my fast, but so far I just feel energetic and a lot of clarity. I continue to do daily yoga too. A big plus is Ive lost 8 lbs.

    • @justbreathe8835

      Febe Grace Bulan how did you break the fast?

    • @jofriedman4528
      @jofriedman4528 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Just breathe - the website allaboutfasting.com has some great info about breaking fasts. Generally, eat the most hydrating foods you can first (for electrolyte replenishment) - either watermelon, or if you're keto, lettuce, cucumber, celery is great. I also add small amounts of sauerkraut to replenish good bacteria in the belly and sometimes my body craves bone broth for collagen and minerals. There's also recommendations on starting slowly, eating small meals more regularly and then gradually progressing to larger meals less often. Again, this time period tends to be based on the length of your fast. (Generally speaking, whatever the duration of your fast, halve it, and that's how long you should take to get back on "normal food" and "normal eating". So a 10-day fast requires 5 days of refeeding, etc.)
      Hope it helps. :)

    • @Pratsmusic
      @Pratsmusic 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What do you mean by juice fasting? If you're having juice you're not fasting. Juice has sugar, which will put out of fasting state, because that will spike insulin.

      Pratsmusic there is something very fascinating in these herbs that really acceleratrate the healing process. for a juice to shut down my desire to smoke a single ciggerette in 30 days a fairly heavy smoker is absolutely remarkable. :) I think the combination of fasting with certain veggies which are hydrating electrolytes full of phytonutrients is a winning combination

    • @paigesteele4406
      @paigesteele4406 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Your blood ph is balanced by exhaling co2 and your kidneys creating bicarbonate as a buffer. Your diet won't affect your blood ph as your body will naturally compensate to keep it with ph 7.35-7.45. If it is out of this range then your having a creation of acid that your body cannot correct ie lactic acid, diabetic ketoacidosus, inability to exhale co2 efficiently or an issue with your kidneys inability to create bicarbonate. There are other systems in your body where ph can be affected by diet such as saliva, gut, urine etc but blood is not one.

    I've seen alot of videos on health. Some are over simplified and some are too technical. I gotta say your videos are well balanced. please don't dumb them down too much because when you explain the science it makes your points credible. Too many times I watch a youtuber make claims and I am left wondering what is the behind the conclusuons.

    love your videos very informative, was wondering if you could do a video on anaemia/ thalassemia minor what's the difference between them,what the latest study says, if it's treatable does it have any connection to all the infections/ inflammation I have. I had ear infection as a child, then tonsils infection now in the age of 34 I battle with urinary tract-bladderinfection, that resolved in reactive arthritis because I didn't had it treated. with fatigue, sourness in the body especially in my legs i had to travel to my family to Morocco from Denmark because all the doctor did is give me antibiotics and u was sick of it, never did they try to find out the cause of why I have ll this infections, in morocco the found out I have low hemoglobin and a gallstone 🤔😔 sorry for my poor english😎

    I started intermittent fasting exactly one ,month ago today. I'm 69 and have struggled with my weight for over thirty years. Tried all the fad diets but the weight always came back. I hated being on the diets. I got a diet app 4 years ago and that made counting the calories much easier but I still failed. I have lost a little over 12 pounds in the month and I feel great. I don't get hungry during the fast and I find that my evening meal is very satisfying but I don't fee hungry in the evening like I had before. I eat normal on the weekend and even have my six beers on Saturday and Sunday. This isn't a diet, it's a change in lifestyle. When I get my weight down to 180 (from 247) I will cut down the number of fasting days to normalize my weight at that level. Try it, you'll love it.

    a better understanding of fasting comes from the spiritual traditions where fasting was the central practice. compared to naming a bunch of scientific terms that are in fashion and that come from some lab rat trying to give random names to something he sees under microscope not really understanding it and the larger context.

    So can you get some of the benefits from huge reductions in calorie intake such as keeping your caloric intake below 500? as I mentioned in my first comment....most of my calories come from collagen, fiber, bone broth and some vegetables, I've started doing my home made almond butter cups with my coffee in the morning....(made out of almond butter, coconut oil,cinnamon,chia seeds,chopped walnuts and honey...) I kind of think that my high intensity interval exercise kind of cancels out those calories...;)

    Just came off a four day fast. I've been doing IF for over a year, but started doing longer fasts this year. Did five days in Jan., seven days in Feb., 10 days in Mar., seven days in April, and just four days this month. It becomes really easy after a while to just not eat for periods of time. Trying to stick to a ketogenic diet coming off this fast, to try and get rid of the last 20 or so pounds of fat I need to lose.
