    Today, I want to cover the most inflammatory food in the world.
    There is a lot of debate over what the most inflammatory food is. Some people say meat, while others say it's the fiber in plants.
    Some people do well consuming fiber, and others don’t. Why? Humans can’t digest fiber. Your microbes are what break down fiber by fermenting it.
    While fiber is anti-inflammatory, unfermented fiber is inflammatory. If you don’t have enough of the right microbes in your gut, you could have more of an issue with fiber than other people.
    Certain things like antibiotics, improper nutrition as a child, ultra-processed foods, and glyphosate can alter your microbiome and lead to inflammation.
    The most inflammatory foods in the world are ultra-processed foods: a basic recipe of sugar, flour, and seed oils with a dash of glyphosate.

    As an African, raised in the countryside of South East Nigeria, I grew up in a family that obtained 80% of their food from our domestic farm [plants, goats and poultry]. I had no single inflammation growing up. I was healthy and never knew such things as ulcer and inflammation. I moved uptown for greener pastures and boom EVERYTHING collapsed. Now I spent 60% of my earnings treating health issues that shouldn't have arisen. I lost my twin brother 2years ago to Colon Cancer, and kept battling my gut issues until I stumbled on your page here. Thanks Dr Berg for what you do with these enlightening videos. I've started IF and watch what I eat now and I'm healthier and grateful to God directing me towards your resourceful videos.

      Food intake patterns and 25-year mortality from coronary heart disease: cross-cultural correlations in the Seven Countries Study. The Seven Countries Study Research Group

    • @xmonikerhotmailcom
      @xmonikerhotmailcom 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In the Seven Countries Study, associations between the intake of food-groups and 25-year mortality from coronary heart disease (CHD, defined as sudden coronary death or fatal myocardial infarction) were investigated. Baseline surveys were carried out between 1958 and 1964. A number of individual characteristics were measured in 12,763 middle-aged men belonging to 16 cohorts in seven countries (USA, Finland, The Netherlands, Italy, former Yugoslavia, Greece and Japan). Dietary information was collected in sub-samples using the weighed record method. Vital status of all participants was verified at regular intervals during 25 years of follow-up and the underlying cause of death was adjudicated. Eighteen different food-groups and combinations were considered for comparison among cohorts. Large differences in food-group consumption were seen, with high consumption of dairy products in Northern Europe, meat in the USA, vegetables, legumes, fish, and wine in Southern Europe, and cereals, soy products, and fish in Japan. Population death rates from CHD showed large differences, ranging from 268 per 1000 in East Finland to 25 per 1000 in Crete, Greece. Animal food-groups were directly correlated, and vegetable food-groups (except potatoes) as well as fish and alcohol were inversely correlated with CHD mortality. Univariate analysis showed significant positive correlation coefficients for butter (R = 0.887), meat (R = 0.645), pastries (R = 0.752), and milk (R = 0.600) consumption, and significant negative correlation coefficients for legumes (R = -0.822), oils (R = -0.571), and alcohol (R = -0.609) consumption. Combined vegetable foods (excluding alcohol) were inversely correlated (R = -0.519), whereas combined animal foods (excluding fish) were directly correlated (R = 0.798) with CHD death rates. Multivariate stepwise analysis selected butter, lard + margarine and meat as significant predictors and produced an R2 of 0.922. These findings were confirmed by factor analysis. These cross-cultural analyses are consistent with the hypothesis that dietary patterns are important determinants of differences in population CHD death rates, and confirm the opposite effects on apparent risk of animal and vegetable foods.@@kitxxxxxxx

    The Carnivore diet improved my life. My sciatica, back and leg pain all gone. My doctor said I needed surgery. My arthritis also gone. My diet now consist of grass fed meat, fish occasionally, eggs, kefir, blueberries, occasional sauerkraut, spirulina, chlorella, MCT oil, turmeric, herbal teas and a probiotic two or three times a day. I’ve never felt better!

      @@Drberg Thank you Dr. Berg you have transformed my life and my families life for the better. I developed UC at 30. Struggled with that for over ten years. Wasn’t until I removed all grains and seeds oils from my diet that I noticed prolonged remission. I still developed arthritis and back problems because my gut flora was compromised. There is a link between UC and arthritis I was told by my Primary care physician. Though she told me nothing more. I struggled with sciatica for over a year, so bad I could barely walk or sleep. I had an MRI was told I had spinal stenosis and a pinched nerve. I started taking probiotics November 4, 2023 and removed all inflammatory foods from my diet. Since then all my pain has disappeared in a month. I was dealing with chronic pain everyday nonstop since July of 2022. Thank you!

    Eric, notes I've picked up that may help your future research: Glyphosates use popularity happened at the end of the 1970s, it's sprayed on wheat just before harvest to kill and forcibly dry the wheat (corn/beans get sprayed earlier in the season for weed control). HFCS and seed oils replaced real sugar and animal fats during the 1980 recession/inflation surge as food companies scrambled to remove costs from their products. The whole thing about New Coke was to introduce the switch to HFCS. Get a stack of high school yearbooks and look at the activity pages photographs (which will have photos of general population students) from 1975 to 1985 and you can see what happened. Now, what do you expect those food companies are doing during this cycle of high inflation? ...

    Ramadhan 2018 is when i first stumbled upon one of Dr Berg's youtube video and i have never looked back since. He single handedly changed the course of my understanding of nutrition. The transition was seamless as i was fasting for ramadhan. All i had to do for the transition, was to eliminate the high carb and processed food intake during ramadhan and replace it with nutrient dense food such as greens, fats and protein. I was already working out prior to the whole experiement. And within few weeks i could see veins popping out on my biceps. a clear indication of fat loss and muscle preservation. A few months into strict keto i could see my abs for the first time in a Zara (clothing store) changing room. I know this sounds weired but i still vividly remember this and even captured a photo of this. I have achieved my core objectives but I still apply fundemantal principles learnt from keto according to Dr Berg's advice.

I started getting inflammatory arthritis in my hands and wrists mainly but also throughout the rest of my limbs from time to time, it was life altering and it has been ever since. i finally figured out that it is grains. I quit eating those and it all went away. Every so often I get a craving for the old pasta/ rice habit and within hours my joints swell up and in the middle of the night It's bad enough where it wakes me up. I go back to no carb and within a few days it's gone. I lived in pain and destroyed my joints for 25 years having no idea what the problem was. 100 times to the doctors and Arthritis/rheumatology specialists and all they said was we don't know or take these drugs. The whole time it was just stop eating grains.

    It's a good idea to make a small jar of sauerkraut once or twice a year to help rebuild the right beneficial gut microbes. Just shreds half to one whole head of cabbage, add about a tablespoon or two of sea salt or Himalayan pink salt, and then knead the salt into the shredded cabbage gets nice and watery. Then stuff the cabbage and briney liquid into a glass jar and loosely cover with a lid or cheesecloth and a rubber band and place in a cool to room temp, dark cabinet or cupboard. Let it ferment for a week or two.
    Store bought sauerkraut has been pasteurized and most or all of the microbes are dead. You need to make it at home every once in a while to be sure you actually get some live, active and healthy gut microbes and to rebalance things.

    Dr. Berg I got rid of my blaring and or gas and all my serious inflammatory micro biome problems by going keto and carnivore and my stomach went flat I feel better than I ever have! You give me hope and thank you for giving me back my health!!! I was a prisoner of my body and weight and vascular system that almost took my life and you saved me and taught me how to heal my own body through my own body and the right foods to eat and avoid! You taught me how to be my own doctor! Your amazing and a gift from god! He’s working through you Dr. Berg! I could never use the restroom like others and hospitals couldn’t even get me to go my stomach hurt so bad and it was fiber this and that. Nothing worked. Once I did a very short (probably a week or two, I don't remember) anti-candida diet with no grains, no flour, no nuts, I did eat cabotia pumpkin in my omelet mixture, meat, lots of dark green leaves and other vegetables, except carrot and beets, no sugar, olive oil and once I had avocado and strawberries on separate days - no other fruits due their high sugar content. In a few days my energy skyrocketed. Oh, I was also taking abou 5-10g of spirulina a day. My mind got so clear that I said, "I found the cure for depression". I felt I was smarter 😂. It's true. P.S. Ppl should have a microbiota exam to see what bacterias you may be missing there. I recently found out I had 3 missing = zero, nada! So you'll know which probiotics you need to take to repopulate your gut along with diet.

    Thank you, Dr. Berg, for another informative video. For people whose gut fauna has been damaged/destroyed, is there a way where it can be restored? What should a person consume and avoid in order to do so?

    • @zardozmania
      @zardozmania 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Just add probiotic and prebiotic foods to start with. (google what those are), then start intermittent fasting, and try cutting out all sugar for a while, then all wheat. And cut back on all grains, or eliminate completely, including high carb foods like potatos etc. High carbs turn into sugar in your system. You'll see the difference! Most people are insulin resistant and don't even know it. Sugar & grains, and too frequent eating are the culprit, plus unhealthy oils. Stick with grass fed butter, quality olive oil, etc. It's better to pay more for high quality, eat a little less, than to focus on the higher cost of organic grassfed dairy and meats, and other stuff.

Took one package of chicken sausages to just check the nutrients and OMG... it contained sugar!!! why? it has already plenty of salt as a preservative. Why the heck to add there sugar? or grated cheese with added potato starch? and check gluten free product - all of them just full of starch, sugar and any possible addition, which are definitely not necessary to be there.

      Too many strange things are in processed foods.
      Try to eat more natural foods from farmer's markets, if possible.

      When you start to reduce/remove sugar, it can feel impossible, like it's in everything, and yes, it is in the majority of processed/ultra processed foods. But, it's definitely doable to live without sugar. You just have to re-educate yourself with new recipes and new ways of cooking. If you enjoy cooking you'll find it easy, and so beneficial.
