Gwangjang Market is Korea's oldest traditional street food market. We've been here a few times of course, but this time we went together with TJ from 'Cup of TJ' who was visiting Seoul this week :) We ended up trying about TEN different types of street food, including ddeokbokki, kimbap, blood sausage, kal-guksu, and many more.
On Saturday, we also hit up our favorite burger joint in Seoul, 'One Star Old Fashioned Burger', for a grand finale of a real foodie week!

in Argentina we have blood sausages, they're called "morcilla" (google the recipe, might be a little bit different from sundae). they're traditionally eaten in "asados" (barbeques) so they're grilled on coals and logs as a starter dish (alongside other stuff) before the meat is served.
I don't think anyone ever thinks of eating it on its own.
i think the majority like it, but definitely foreigners run away from it haha

The Streetfood series is sooooo good!! I love watching it because they connect the people, culture and food so well.
Also about the portion size.. It's so confortable in Korea! I'm not a big eater and I prefer to try various different things over eating a lot of one thing. Here in the Netherlands I'm not sure about the portion sizes since I don't eat out often, but if I do I'm just uncomfy full because I don't want the money and food to go to waste. So that's why I liked the sizes in Korea a lot. I could eat ice cream after having dinner😂😂
We’ve been enjoying that series sooo much-it’s so beautifully done!
And I think we have the exact same eating style-‘preferring to try various things over eating a larger quantity of one thing’. I get indigestion if I eat a lot of heavy food, so o find the portion sizes here are are usually very reasonable. And it’s always a plus when there’s room for dessert 😋

Those burgers and fries looked like pretty huge portions. 😂 All the walking you do definitely helps keep you both slim and trim. You’re right...in the USA you have to drive everywhere. Nothing is in walking distance unless you live in a city like New York. I visited Toronto a couple years ago and you can walk to a lot of places there, too. I LOVED Toronto. Too bad the winters are so brutal up there. Bet you can’t wait to see your family, Sarah. 😍

Next time we go to Seoul, we gotta hit up Gwangjang Market! I don't think we went there last time, altho we went to a similar market. Glad you guys got to meet TJ and help her eat stuff haha, On her channel, she'd probably be eating all that by herself and I always wonder how she does it haha! Looking forward to seeing that day on her channel, hopefully soon! And yes, American's are probably the most obese people on the planet? Those portions sizes here are ridiculously huge sometimes and you get people who cram it down and more, errr...tisk tisk. Bad part of American culture I suppose.
There are several large food markets in Seoul, but this one is our favorite-definitely recommend it 😁 I can’t even imagine eating all that food alone, omggg, poor TJ💦
And about the portion sizes, Canada is quite similar, but every time I visit the U.S I am FLOORED at how massive food portions-they’re like hilariously big at some places 😦
@@2hearts1seoul For sure. Ever been to Claim Jumper? Just ridiculous how huge their portions are, but that's what they are known for. Pair that with being probably some of the laziest people in the world, I can see why American's are obese.

10. Oh, I wish I could tap my metro card on the scanner like the ones in Korea and Taiwan. But speaking of which, MTA in New York is developing an app on the phone called OMNY where you could download and add funds as a virtual phone card. And then you could put your phone over the scanner when you enter the subway or go on a bus and it’ll automatically deduct the amount. :D Don’t know how long it will take, though. They say it will be out as early as late 2020/early 2021

lol, never heard "soon dae" referred to as dude food, for lot of Koreans, that's comfort food. If there is ever a dude or ahjushi type of food, it would be the "soju" drink, lol.
If you walk past a soondae-guk restaurant and peak inside, usually the clientele is 80% dudes 😂

Also isn't most super traditional Korean food quite healthy? Like kimchi, other banchan and the soups? I see you eat such things often as well in your videos.
Yes! Usually we eat Korean meals with lots of different banchan, as well as soups and stews ☺️
Who feeds the kitties when you’re in Canada or do they just eat mice while you’re gone?
There are several other neighbors who feed them, but we leave a big bag of cat food for the strays with our next door neighbors who look after Beemo while we’re away :)
