Hey there, first time commenting. However having your first trailer tire blow out is pretty scary, once you hear that loud "pop" it wakes you up lol. Getting a steer blow is even worse (I've had these both happen to me; within my first year). So minor tips; 1. Once u notice that you have to pull over...take your time but pull yourself as far from the road as possible. All while considering how some people will NOT move over and how much space the technician will need to work in a safe space 2. Until you get super comfortable in every city/state...trip plan for shorter distances. This doesn't mean you have to stop but this helps you learn traffic patterns, the aggressiveness of 4"wheelers" and some other rude truckers. This is will help you to observe how full truck stops are, rest areas, smaller truck stops are also good for just parking but you pick n choose as u like lol. So the those are some things I've learned when I went out on my own and it helped me. Also don't feel bad about forgetting things it all comes with time, you'll sit back in a few months and laugh at the mistakes you've made and realize how much it has helped you grow into a better trucker. STAY SAFE, keep ya head up **think about investing in a CB before winter hits **
@Withy2002 no problem, please don't do it lol. Your learning so much on your own right now n don't have to depend on someone else possibly having the same work ethic as u(even if u know them) continue your journey n consider "training" before teaming...I say that because "small victories" as a rookie driver come a dime a dozen n no one can take them from u or understand them but other truckers. Just take ya time, u got it...first few months are the toughest
You will be alright. Every body makes mistakes out here even the experience ones nov will be 36 years for me and i do it to don't get discouraged it happens darling you will be okay❤

Don't worry about it. It's all apart of learning and getting experience. It'll make you a better driver. I've been driving for 4 years and I've been in my share of situations
