@@calvinengle2020 You can use most bones. Higher level bones give more bone shards. For example, I tried a superior dragon bone and it gives 121 shards per bone. Which translates to 605 prayer experience per bone. I don't recall what wyvern bones give exactly, but it is around 50 bone shards each.
I would also add if you want this method to be the most afk, don't bother with the waterfall rocks, just mine the standard rocks. The waterfall rocks may be 15% faster but the deposit goes a lot faster, i can afk for up to 3mins on the normal rocks, about 30 seconds on waterfall rocks. I have mined over 35k shards, gone from 54 mining to 70. prayer xp was 210k, very good, even more so as an iron, plus tp from the moth. A dragon pick is recommended too. This has to be one of the best update for UIM's. They had nearly no way in gaining much XP and now that there's a constant method for them, even if it's as low as 10k an hour, it's honestly still better than these other options.
The wyrmling bones feel pretty weak when you first get them, but they actually convert to 600% of their base bury value when you use blessed sunfire wine. It's sooo sick and tons of prayer xp from the moons
You didn't mention exp/hr at all (getting 13k pray exp/hr from mining, but doesn't add in time to use to get the actual exp) which I think is more important than when making a decision to use this method.
Xp rates are a bit deceptive with Prayer as the overwhelming amount of time is spent collecting the bones, and using better bones also gives drastically better rates of xp. This is even more true for bone shards as there's just so many different ways of getting them that tracking all the rates would be a bit tricky. Processing the Bone shards was giving me well over a million/hr though, some of that time spent chiseling down bones as well, so it is a fast method comparable to ectofuntus but a bit more chill imo to actually make all the materials.
A few extra points, zealot robes work for this prayer method to save your fragments and adding sunlight shards to the wine will provide an extra 20% bonus xp

@TW-fs3fj yeah I did that during trailblazer. Make sure you take nature runes and heaps of thread and needles and craft items to alc to pay the tanner. Easy to safe spot, great for training ranged or mage up.
You can still just bury bones or go to an altar, they didn't take those away. I'm personally excited to have a better option for afk mining and prayer though

Totally agree. There should be inexpensive or easy to attain, very low xp/hr options for all skills. Up next hopefully should be construction.

Big fan of these skilling methods that don’t give as much exp individually but let you train two skills at once
I think what's nice with this method is that if you're not planning to do Wildy altar, you can just chisel all the bones and saves the bank slot

Yea, I recommend the zealot outfit with a few graceful pieces for running back and forth.
How many bone shards per wine?
Every wine is good for 400 bone shards! it will automatically fill the bowl back up so a full inventory of wines can be good for like 11k shards

You could use windows mousekeys to speed up the chisseling a lot, like how people fletch darts quickly

Mining gives you bone shards which you have to turn in to get the prayer xp. No prayer xp from the mining itself.
Yep, it does not give prayer xp just for mining, just shards! You have to go and turn in the shards.

Why not kill red dragons in the forthos dungeon? Its also crafting xp and you can keep prayers up
