I love the studio version of this song. But this live recording is absolutely amazing, even better than the original! This song have a so complex mood, hard to describe, like a mix of sadness and euphoria at the same time. I´m in love with Cocteau Twins since 1999, and I will never get tired of listening this band.

i have 4 Cocteau Twins albums and none of them have this song. This was 1986 I believe I do remember this song though. Those eyes that mouth is my favorite and crushed I dont know how to put it. It's beautiful song.

"Crushed" is often mistaken to have been featured on the EP "Love's Easy Tears" - while it probably dates from the same sessions (even the video looks like cut from the same cloth as "Love's Easy Tears"), in fact it's a non-album/non-EP recording, exclusively released in 1987 on the 4AD v/a compilation album "Lonely Is An Eyesore". Possibly the song appeared on some other (subsequent) releases depending on the marketing strategies, but originally it first appeared exclusively on the mentioned 1987 v/a album.
I think this is even better than the original. Liz is able to soar even more freely, Robbie's solo is even more goose bumping making whilst Simon calmly backs the whole thing up. Thanks for posting this shum65.
We saw them on this very night at this very venue on UCBerkeley and the previous night too at SJSU opened by Mazzy Star - who were amazing. At the SJSU show, we were right in front of the stage and a thug started pushing people trying to incite a mosh pit - at a CT show! The crowd all raised our hands and pointed at the guy. Simon and Liz were pissed - Liz stopped singing and yelled fuck off at the guy while gesturing shoo at him and refused to continue until security removed him. The whole time Robin kept smiling and tinkering with technology.
Nice story, what was the thug thinking? When I saw them in Glasgow Barrowlands in 94, I think it was, there was such a feeling of love and respect to the band and an appreciation of every last note sang or played that the applause didn't start until there was silence. I think that CT fans are the nicest, most open hearted people I have chatted with online. Of course I'm biased having been a fan since they more or less started.
Also have to thank of this own-made-vidclip + amazing live,,,i just found all CT-videos first time at here..great new hobby although i´ve been listening some CT since year-85-86 but it´s a pitty never saw CT in Finland(hometown),skandinavia.Once again,you´re professional!
