i recently started practicing making emotes, badges and stuff for twitch and first emote i made was a character waving and i put too much detail in the hand that when it was zoomed out you couldn't tell that it was waving xD so this video is rly helpful

hey, i love the work. it's so weird cause i started making emotes using illustrator and then switched to photoshop using mouse lol. at the end of this video, it references the exporting one again, i'd recommend forwarding it to the one around coloring in so it seems like a continuation/series. :) love your work! i'd love to learn more from you!

Thanks a lot for the feedback! :)
You're right, I should adjust that and add the links to the descriptions!
I do stream on twitch full time if you're interested in catching some emote content over there :)

What DPI do you find is the best?

hi! DPI is pretty simple, it's only relevant to the resolution of a printed version of your artwork. The standard is 300, so I just recommend leaving all of your art at 300 dpi by default, it's usually enough for good quality prints in case you decide to print your art later on.

I only have photoshop on my iPad and I am lost. I have made plenty of emotes but when it comes down to 28x28 even when I import said image into it it just becomes a blurred mess and I’m not zoomed in either. I use a contrast tool online to check how it would appear on my phone which would be the smallest size and it’s just blurred and I’m at a loss of what to do. Any help would be gat I’ve looked and done everything I’m at the end of what I can do

If you don't have too many details and are zoomed in enough, then I'd double check the resampling setting when you downsize to 28. Make sure it's either Bicubic Automatic, or you may want to try Bicubic Sharper for reduction. I hope you find the solution!
