- Brompton have released the first in a "makers" series of special edition folding bikes
This is collaboration with watch maker Bremont and boot maker Cheaney and it's a very limited run (though Brompton don't release how many)
It's a 12 speed P Line with some detailing not seen on many Brompton folding bikes before
We run through unboxing and the features of the bike

I was in London this week and have seen this exact Brompton version in the window of the Cheaney shop and thought: Wow that shop owner is one of Brompton nerd putting nice modifications on it. Now I know its a Brompton original! Very beautiful!
Just like you, I saw it in the shop this weekend in London really a beautiful edition!
Splendid colour. I love my 2022 Picadilly Blue C-line, but this kind of green is definitely bring a more elegant touch to the bike.
Lovely British Green ! I like that they are bringing back the unpainted Titanium fork and triangle!
Yes we like them too! Missed them!
Thanks for watching!
Lilac would have went so well with uncoated titanium!
@@NoZenith I like my black parts, and I have given them a polish when I got my bike in 2019! And all the "Frame Covers/Protection" to find for all the bikes weak points, to avoid any scratches during use and folds (China has built an intire Industry from this need)!!!!
That's why my Flame Painted, now 9 kilo Superlight bike, with mudguards - still looks like new, even after near 5 years of use😄! Finn. Denmark
@finncarlbomholtsrensen1188 mine is Black Raw Laquer H6R... so it's heavy 🙃 I put heavy duty box tape on my and didn't ride it enough to wear through any of it except where the frame hook goes on the rear triangle. I am currently shopping the "helicopter tape" options
Gorgeous bike
Thank you for watching! We think it’s lovely too!
It’ll go nicely with my Barbour jacket and green wellies.
I totally forgot my jacket and wellies for the filming 😉. Thanks for watching!
Oh also i did some digging and saw a Japanese fellow who weighed the bronze bits - they were heavier than the equivalent black clamps etc. will update once i find the post again. I don’t have a weighing scale that could confirm this. But by hand 🤚 there seems to be a difference in weight.
Thanks for watching!!! Hmm we must weight them!
Love that bike color!
But really looking forward to a comparison between the 12spd electric P & C lines, and a ride review and hill test.
Thanks for watching!
It’s on the list😀
I’d love to visit your bike shop.
We would love to see you!
Thanks for watching (again😀)
I like this, although the Bremont connection leaves me cold. If it was Brompton, Cheaney and Roger Smith I'd be far more excited.
As an aside, my LBS fitted a 40 tooth Sturmey Archer chainset to drop the gearing on my 2009 P Line 6 speed. It makes a huge difference on the local hills but without diluting the higher gears too much. It looks amazing too! I'm looking forward to taking a 12 speed for a spin soon...
I won’t be surprised if we won’t get a David Beckham collab soon😅
@@richmondstar4354 A very timely comment!
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments, oooh can’t wait!
I think it’s beautiful too, a lovely shade of green and copper. I have the Brooks Special and dark tan continentals and copper accessories on my black ML6 with black titanium fork and rear triangle. If I didn’t I’d be tempted…love the return to the classic look…
Yeah a black fork and rear triangle on this will definitively look good…..I like the matte color too but not on this build I think…Surprised handlebar didn’t match the leather seat too…Brooks do have leather grips…also make it even special a brown leather mud flap.
Agree, black forks and rear triangle would have been good and a copper handlebar would have set it off very well.
@@meera6024 a copper handlebar color would be nice as you said also and keep the black grips instead…..Wonder what green best…this Brunswick green or the classic Racing green…been thinking to get my other frame powder coated green or Ivory for some time now but probably will be pushed for green now….and silver/chrome parts🤔
Thanks all for watching!!!!
Thank you so much for watching and for your comments
FYI, the special levers are in fact much heavier than the normal black aluminum P-line ones, which possibly means that they are made fully of bronze as they officially state in the BxBxC website. specifications, and not bronze/brass-plated or anodized aluminum. Information found on FB post by a Japanese Brompton dealer Loro Tube who've actually put them on a scale to compare.
Sooo schön ❤
Love the tires. We used to call those gum walls when I was a kid.
Thanks for watching! Some manufacturers still call them gum walled!!
I think I’ve found my perfect Brompton.
It is a really nice looking bike! Thanks for watching!
Great video - The contis are cheaper for end customer and so I assume to brompton too .... but they also fit the vibe of the bike better
Just got mine - super excited- arrived 7 hours ago. And surprise to see a pump.
Thanks for watching! Yes we were too!
What makes the BWR ‘superlight’ hub different from the normal BWR?
Also, at 02:03 what is that squiggly bit between the frame and clip?
The 12 speed is a new hub made specifically for Brompton which is lighter and has a wider ratio than the BWR
Also …. That was a bit of plastic swarf from the seat sleeve insert ! (Now brushed off and not noticed until the video!)
Call me easily sold but that is one clever and good looking understated classy ride 😊👍
We agree it’s lovely looking!
Thanks for watching!
Ok this is a really beautiful bike. Looks a bit like the first Barbour. One question. With those tyres, where are the reflectors in the wheels?
Looks really elegant... The problem with special editions being that you never really want to put them in any heavy usage, if at all...
Thanks for watching! Hmmm I guess that’s true, but it’s too nice not to use 😀
Er, I absolutely love the colour which is nearly the same green as the original Barbour limited edition however I'm struggling to understand what exactly Bremont is bringing to the party
🙂👍
Thanks for watching!
😳😳😳😱😱😱💗
Thank you so much h for watching!
A lovely looking, understated, stylish bicycle. But is it not a collaboration of 4 makers? Brompton, Bremont, Cheaney and Brooks for the seat. And yes, wearing the shoes while cycling it would be very dapper indeed.
Thanks for watching!
We kind of agree! Brooks were missing!
BWR superlight? Is this a new hub? What's the difference in weight? Cheers
It’s for the P line, so makes it a 12 speed, it’s about 800 g, so slightly less weight but not much less!
Thanks for watching!
Is it possible to add the 4 speed chain-wheel to my 6 speed? With a new changer of course? Finn. Denmark
Is brompton have better or upgrade suspension from their factory ? Or we must buy from aftermarket ? Please let me know
Thanks for watching!
The after market suspension blocks from Brompton are the same as the one that come from the factory
Subjective - there are so many - some say they are stiffer - depending on type - some say there’s no difference and some say it’s worse. I have seen quite a few not very well made suspension blocks - spring coil types - that actually deform. Best to stick to Brompton parts that have not only passed Euro codes but US ones as well. My .02 cents worth. But it’s your coin at the end of the day. 😊
@@carywatmore thank you for your info. But have you ever try suspension brand name funbike ? Look like spring is that soft or hard..
that's a lovely combination of dark green and "brass" hardware. I wish they kept the handle bars and seat posts raw as well rather than painting in black
I agree with you, but I have ordered this, as it is still very attractive!
Where can I buy a brass bell with that extended ring? Is it available so I can add it as an accessory to my existing Brompton (2014)?
Thanks for watching
It is available as an aftermarket option - but only if you have the integrated shifters
brilliantbikes.co.uk/brompton-sundry-parts/5831-brompton-integrated-bell-brass.html
it is really beautiful color but the premium over the regular P12 .. really make it difficult to swallow
Thanks for watching! Hmm yes but don’t forget it’s got the Brooks B17 Special and a leather saddle bag
@@brilliantbikes still doesnt justify the price differences hahahahah :D
Really beautiful bike. Too bad I can't store more than 2 Brompron bikes..
Thanks for watching! Ah they like friends 😀
@@brilliantbikes I love Bromptons so much. Have had 3 Bromptons already, in almost 30 years. I would like to go light, the T-line, but have doubts about the number of gears, I’m used to 6 speed and now electric.. so I’m afraid I can’t peddle up hilly area’s with the 4 speed.. but 12 is almost a kilo heavier. You’ve done nice video’s about gears.. did you try the 12-speed at-line?..
Hast been to our lovely Brompers Junction shop Auf Bleecker Strasse in NY?
Thanks for watching!
@@brilliantbikesYou're very welcome gnädige Dame aber you've not at all answered meine Frage.
Where do we start = if it’s good enough for Julie Andrew’s from the sound of music = At the very beginning = how much is it ? Hope it’s a reasonable price don’t want to be brassed off or even anodised off pretty sure one of those would ring a bell a loud one obviously , would of been nice to have the price of belt and shoes but maybe I’m just too demanding or logical the choice is yours, actually with the weather at the moment with all this global warming having October in June = more appropriate would be brass monkey weather , we all know there’s only one song that fits = Beastie Boys = Brass Monkey , I know you will say thanks for watching = always a pleasure never a chore.
Thanks for making me think with joining all the connections!!! 😀 and yes thank you for watching!
@@brilliantbikes why did you not give me the price? Is it embarrassing high that you can bring yourself to disclose?
this accessories material is brass?
Great looking bike! Any sign of a CHPT3 for 2024?
Thanks for watching! Sorry no news about one, sorry!
Saddle rails aren't REALLY copper, or the saddle would just collapse...
Is this the first 12 speed, P Line special edition?
Thanks for watching
Yes the Brompton Bremont Cheaney bike is the first "special" edition - though there was a 12 speed Pop Lilac seasonal colour (where just the colour was changed but everything else was standard)
Where is your shop located now?
We are based in Sunningdale, Berkshire
Thank you for watching!
Looks like an army version 🤓
Thank you for watching!
Hipster alert !!
Thank you for watching!
Go back to silver components, black components look cheap.
That’s why black editions were so popular
They clearly look better
A couple colours look nicer with silver though imo
Not my "cup of tea." I'll pass on this version.
Many thanks for watching anyway!
