- WHAT YOU DO: A robotics engineer researches, designs, develops, operates and repairs robots.
EDUCATION: A robotics engineer requires extensive knowledge of engineering, computers, design, mechanics, physics, and advanced math. Robotics engineers usually have to earn at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, graduate from a program that's certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, and pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
USEFUL SKILLS: Coordination, critical thinking, problem solving, imagination.
HOW TO GET IN: Get an internship while in college.
CAREER PATH: Focus on a subsystem of robotics (the mechanical, electrical, computing, or software system, for example) while in school and working as an intern. Graduate college and start work as a junior engineer focusing on one of these subsystems. After you have some experience in one of these fields, you can work on whole robotic systems.
PAYBACK: Median annual salary: $90,580
DOWNSIDES: Little flexibility, requires extreme focus and concentration.
FUTURE OF JOB: The number of jobs is expected to grow 3% to 9% in the 2013-22 decade, which is slower than average.
NETWORKING: Robots.net is a robotics new site that also allows people involved in the robotics field to share and discuss their projects:

I like a lot to design mechancal devices
amazing, some day I would like to know people like you!
best regards...
Interesting point of view... Have a look at the "Astrobiologist (JPL NASA)" video on the GIGNIKS Channel.
cool idea
