    This video will cover robotics, some subfields within the career, and the best majors to pick if you want to go into this field.
    Robotics is a really broad field and by getting into this you can work on a variety of projects (military robots, agriculture robots, nanorobots, biomedical robots, etc). Majoring in robotics is obviously a good choice, but you don't HAVE to pick this major in order to get into the field.
    Some of the best majors include mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, and computer science.

    I wanted to study robotics (as an EE) but the class was full. So I took optoelectronics instead. Suddenly, I found my passion as a laser physicist/engineer. That was nearly 30 years ago and I am well in my career developing and applying lidar systems..... Here we are on the explosion of the field of robotics and it is where it can be a fun empowering hobby--especially with modern powerful microcontrollers, sensors and 3d printing.

      I do find optoelectronics interesting and I think it is cool for some reason, but I didn't take it since I didn't have optional classes to choose in my computer engineering program.

    I study Robotics engineering and I took the same classes as a Mechatronic Engineer plus an "introduction" to movement representation by matrices. As I got into the robotics laboratory class, I was expected to develop any type of robot and make it able to learn, see (camera), sense, map the surrounding, comunícate with other robot wirelessly, battery life of 4 hours, lightweight, be able to take a two floor fall, have a graphic local and remote interface, design a PCB for general control, select a UNIQUE controller, and much more.

      All of them, plus some. Tony Stark would have a good education in physics, business, materials science, and more. To get started, though, you'd probably want to start with machine learning, mechanical engineering, and business. Tony Stark had the backing of a very large business, which he inherited from his father, but if you don't have that, you'll have to start your own. Might also be a good idea to get a minimal education in copyright law. And read some science fiction classics, as they have useful ideas, and often have warnings and messages worked into them, to the reader and society in general.

Personally I am just in High School but I think about going in engineering and especially in the Médical field ( use physics and math in order to make revolutions in médecine). That s why I was about double majoring in Biomedical enginneering and Mechatronics enginneering in order to have all the computer, electrical and Mechanical knowledges required. However its difficult to double major because it take a lot of Time and also eat your internship time. Thinking about designing the médical devices, I know robotic surgical is a part of them but I dont want to put all the eggs in same bag. That why I was thinking finally to take mechanical enginneering because I am not sure if mechatronics enginners can design things at a huge size (for instance plane or car) like mechanical does, because it more focused on embeded systems.

    Hello thanks for your video. I come from Germany and we have around 135 different mechatronics courses (Bachelor and Master). Would you also recommend me to study electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or is it better in this case to study mechatronics (B.Eng) directly? Maybe I would like to work in the USA in the future (if possible), so I ask. I have also already completed vocational training in mechatronics and therefore have 5 years of practical work experience. Thanks :)

      I'm sure you've found your answer by now, but I'd say pick MEng for your bachelors and then specialize into mechatronics for your masters. It's what I'm gonna do

      You’ll be good, i started out as premed when I went to college right out of high school. After a year and a half of studying that I switched to mechanical engineering and then after another half year of taking general introductory engineering courses like calc 2, physics 1 and 2, a coding class, and a design class, i decided to switch to computer engineering. I’m now just one semester away from graduating (will be 4.5 years total) and love it. I had no clue what I wanted to do in high school you guys are all fine just take the hard class, take physics and chemistry when you get the chance (and study hard for them) and then you’ll get into college and find your way

    • @ryanbreighner7408
      @ryanbreighner7408 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take calc in high school too, even if you fail in high school you’ll have experience with the concepts and be far ahead of everyone else in college. Calc 1 is a weed out class and it helps to have seen the material first bc college classes move pretty quick

      Probably unnecessary. If you want to do a bachelor's/master's combo then that could work but those majors are very different. If anything take mechanical engineering and then extra programming courses on the side. Or just do mechatronics/robotics.

      You'll be smart and know a lot of difficult concepts for sure, but you'll not know the things that you actually need to know to design and make a robot in practice. I have a PhD in Chemical Physics and when I look at the FE exam for Electrical Engineering, I find that I have a lot of unfamiliar subjects I need to learn. I can go in with the confidence that I am capable of learning them though. But someone with a bachelors in electrical engineering is more ahead in terms of being able to build robots than a PhD in science.
