Hi! Nice video mate! I have the same monitor.Just one question i have. For low response time, the overdrive must to set at strong settings? It's best budget monitor for this specs 😁
Thank you very much for you work! Very hopeful for a reply here 🙏 Which settings you would recommend to run this monitor on? (Brightness, contrast, etc.)
Just got it today for little bit under 200€. Switched from 75 Hz monitor to this, feels amazing. Monitor stands are a bit too big, but that's about it. Tried it for a bit in CSGO and it runs smoothly
Sounds like a good cheap alternative for someone like me that wants to extend the lifespan of my rx 6700xt as I don't play as much anymore, i watch a lot of movies so the contrast will no doubt make a difference i'd rather take dull colors and high contrast over high vibrance and grey blacks any day
I saw you did a video on both, so I thought to ask which you would prefer this monitor or Lenovo's Legion Y25-30 IPS in terms of input lag for competitive gaming?
Hello, thanks for the great video. Im in between this one and the EX240. This one is 30€ cheaper right now in amazon. I need to buy 3 to make a triple screen racing setup. I guess im interested in the fastest screen least motion blur. What would you recomend? Ive seen other videos where you say EX240 is the best in this category, could this be the new best monitor in this price range?
Hi! There are a few monitors I'm considering right now after watching some of your videos: HP Omen 25i, AOC 25G3ZM, BenQ EX240, AOC 24G2SPU, Lenovo Y25-25. There is only a 30 GBP difference between the models. Which one would you choose out of them?
@@TotallydubbedHD The Omen model is the most compelling to me as of now since everything I use is made by HP, however the fact that the stand isn't height-adjustable is kinda turning me off. The Lenovo one seemed the best on paper for me, but your video suggests that there are other models that are better in basically every aspect. The BenQ is unfortunately only available in a VA model in my country, so I don't know if what you said is relevant to that one and the AOC's both look okay, however the one presented here seems nicer since it's newer, but honestly I don't know if production date is relevant in any way (in the way that if a monitor is newer it is automatically better than an older model). And since there isn't a direct comparison video between these (which is completely understandable, because it would be impossible to do all the variations) I thought I'd ask you personally :) EDIT: 75% of the time I play esports titles, 20% casual gaming and 5% movies, if this helps in any way. I know tastes differ, but since you're an expert on the topic I wanted to see what would be your personal preference between these specific models
Great review, this monitor is looking like my top contender currently! I'm sure you would have mentioned it, but just to be safe - does the Low Input Lag Mode interfere with Freesync/Adaptive Sync at all? In my use case I would like to have both turned on, that's why I'm wondering. I've seen some monitors that won't allow you to use Freesync/Adaptive Sync if you enable certain things, so I thought I'd ask before getting this one. I always appreciate your stellar reviews, mate!
Thanks, glad you liked the review! That's a good question; forgot to check, as you're right, in some cases it greys out the option, but usually leaves it enabled and thus doesn't affect the actual input lag of the monitor. If it's any help, my AOC AG274QS with G-Sync enabled (freesync), the low input lag mode is set to ON and greyed out; doesn't seem to hinder input lag in said mode (unlike the likes of Samsung lol)
@@TotallydubbedHD Thank you for replying! I ended up buying it today, couldn't resist for that price and also the great reviews it's been getting. :) Firstly, your hunch was right, I can turn on the low input lag mode at the same time as freesync! And it's not even greyed out, so that's even better I figure. I'm glad. I'm really liking this monitor after playing around with the settings. There is one issue though, maybe you could help out with that; whenever I switch from this monitor to my other monitor (switch as in pick the other monitor as the only "active" one in the nVidia control panel) and then switch back to the AOC, it resets itself to 60hz from 240hz. So I have to change it to 240hz again manually every single time. It's not the worst of things, but I have to say it's quite annoying, especially since I switch monitors a lot because one of them is by my bed to chill and the other is on my desk. Maybe you got an idea what may be up with that. Thank you!
@@hdknxci glad you're enjoying it! I'm not really sure in terms of the switching part - are both monitors active as such, and then you're making the other primary? Or are you cloning displays and the other one is a 60hz panel? Have you extended the displays in NV panel?
@@TotallydubbedHD So what I do is actually "disable" the AOC in NV panel by unchecking it and checking my other monitor which I want to use at that time. When I then want to return to my desk and the AOC, I checkmark the AOC again and uncheck the other monitor, if that makes sense. After having done this I'm using the AOC but it's resetted to 60hz from the 240hz I had set before. So I always have to manually set it to 240hz again in the windows display settings. I hope this isn't too confusing hah, not the best with explanations like this in english.
Hello, great review, I have an rx 6600xt with a ryzen 7 5700x and I am a competitive fortnite and valorant player, I don't know if my team can take advantage of this monitor or lean towards a Lower refresh rate
I'm just coming back to FPS (mostly Warzone 2) gaming after a couple years away. I'd love to get some advice and your opinion on which monitor between this one and the Lenovo Legion Y25-30 from one of your previous videos would be the best option in regards to Response time with as minimal ghosting and frame skip as possible?. Any help would be appreciated. For price reference the AOC is $269 AUD and the Lenovo is $369 AUD at the moment.
Hey, me again :D This or the AOC Q24G2A ? I know that this one is 240hz and the other is 165... but im concerned that this one is a VA panel.I'm changing from TN 165hz which should be the fastest panel and the VA is the slowest i guess. Im playing cs2 btw
Just wanted to inform you, in Asia we also are able to choose the ips option which is 20usd more expensive than the va one. I chose the ips panel since most seem to say ips is better for less blur. I'm also planning to use this with mbr
hi! i might be a little late to the party but would you recommend this for a mini pc that cant push the 240hz (at all )? on average i get maybe around 40-70 fps in most games i play on 1080p. i got a aoc 275qxn for my main pc and i really like it but i dont know if this monitor is the right choice for the mini pc when i only get a low framerate.I would love a va monitor because of the good contrast and colors
Hey man, nice video as always ! I was wondering if you would make a video on the asus xg259cm, i can't find any review on this somewhat recent ips 1080p 240hz monitor that seems to be a budget version of its 1440p big brother. There is also an xg249cm that is apparently using the same panel as the blurbuster lg monitor but with 270hz. I find it intresting that people don't review this kind of monitor since they are still the most used ones in general. Since those 2 aren't priced outragingly for what they claim to provide, i think it would make for a great review (especially the xg259cm). Thank you in advance !
Thanks glad you liked the review! Honestly, Asus PR samples have been poor. I've requested a bunch of them and never received them, incl the 24" model of the 27" FHD 240Hz - never got it, so I've given up on requesting them as I'm plenty busy as it is. Sorry, but not my fault!
I have this monitor. It's certainly one of the best deals for under 200$. I use it for overwatch, no issues like ghosting, smearing or input delay. If you're on a budget go for it.
I went here to this comment section on your link from another section. And also this review of yours. But regardless, without knowing about it before, this was the first monitor I came across and I almost bought it right away. Only later did I look for other monitors. Here, I was mainly stopped by VA, over which IPS is preferred for gaming (specifically CS:GO).
@@TotallydubbedHD Yes, your comment about this VA monitor "gets it back in the game" for me, but still doesn't convince me that it's a better choice than another IPS monitor. In a different price range. Specifically: 23.8" ASUS TUF Gaming VG249QM1A and 25" iiyama G-Master GB2590HSU-B1
@@TheGulomet I have the ASUS VG249Q and the backlight bleed as well as IPS glow are just terrible. Now I'm trying to sell it and buy this VA panel AOC. No more IPS for me. VA, then OLED hopefully.
Hey, do you remember if the anti-reflective material on this monitor is any good? I bought one and it feels like a flashlight in my eye. But it only bothers me when I turn the monitor on, the reflection from the monitor off doesn't bother me. Do you know what that is? I use a 4.8w bulb in my room, so it's not very strong.
When i compare the ufo test with the ufo test from your phillips 240hz va panel, the aoc looks a bit better, specially on highest overdrive setting, do you agree?
what's the difference / trade-off compared to the Philips 25M2N3200W ? Taking into account capping 144FPS for LoL. Seems like this 25G3ZM has relatively better UFOs than the Philips? :) Although Philips has the combo with MBR which makes it the winner? PS does it make sense to buy a 240Hz just for the good performance while not utilizing more than 144Hz?
You keep asking the same questions on the channel, and I've replied already. You're better off getting this VA. As per the reviews the Philips and AOC VAs that I've reviewed are near identical.
Thank you for the detailed review of this one, very much needed it. Tried the Benq EX240 that you reviewed and it was good but returned it to try other monitors. Currently thinking if I should get the EX240 again or maybe get this one, 25G3ZM seems to have good response times on the medium overdrive with low overshoot based on the tables. Your UFO tests do show some dark smear on this VA comparing to the EX240 but you do say it is no issue so it makes me wonder if it's worth picking this up over the EX240 since there would be better contrast and less IPS glow. Would you say motion clarity is on par with the EX240 for overall use (Global CSGO, Apex, watching videos, movies)? Some games have dark enviroment or shadowy areas so i'm wondering if this is very perceivable on this model.
I would say so, yes. Given you tried the EX240 (why did you return it?), I'd suggest getting this, at the very least you'll get to see how it compares. Think you'll be left surprised and impressed. Would suggest highest OD from CSGO though, as mentioned in the video. Glad you liked the review!
@@TotallydubbedHD I'll give 25G3ZM a try, thanks. I was pretty happy with EX240 but decided to try other monitors, also my unit had minor issues like not so great osd buttons (very wobbly and felt like they would snap at some point) and SRGB mode had a bit of a tint so I had to use Standard mode but it's wide gamut so it was oversaturaded, but recently I found a tool called "novideo_srgb" (it can do an SRGB clamp without needing to use monitors SRGB profile so then you can control more settings through Standard profiles) AMD has this in the driver controller but nvidia one is hidden, looking to try this out, seems to have positive feedback, would be awesome if it actually works.
@@Raze_Akuma My eyes prefer the 25G3ZM. Anti-glare coating seems lighter, combined with high contrast ratio the image feels more natural to me even though i remember EX240 being more uniform and a bit more vibrant. Didn't have issues with dark smearing on AOC even though it's visible on Blur Busters UFO test compared to BenQ. Can't confidently say which one has better motion clarity but AOC looks good in games, perhaps due to perceived detail with higher contrast ratio and no ips glow on darker areas. Input delay doesn't feel as snappy on AOC as BenQ, not sure what's wrong. OSD navigation was easier on BenQ. 25G3ZM comes with Displayport and HDMI cables whilst EX240 only with HDMI (but it worked well). Edit: Ended up returning the VA, first impressions were very good, image looked very natural in terms of colors (maybe was a good unit) anything with darker scenes looked very good, not just darker scenes the contrast made everything pop and look clear on all content. It was good for most case use but when I got to very fast tracking game like Overwatch I started struggling, EX240 felt snappier and better to me, supposedly 25G3ZM has lower input lag but I felt the opposite. Sucks cause I did like the picture quality more on the VA panel.
@@TotallydubbedHD thanks for reply.shame as want a bigger VA screen either 1440p or 4k for consoles.Any other VA screens out there without black smearing
Would this be better than a IPS one? for response time and competitive gaming? like for example AOC Hero 144hz (yes i know the diff between 240 and 144hz im meaning the response time and delays not the HZ)
How is he after 9 months? Are you still enjoying it? Any kind of problem after 9 months of use? I'm thinking about buying it also with a 4 year warranty.

Yo mate, I'm looking to upgrade from my old aoc g2590fx. This monitor seems really nice but the asus vg279qm1a is only 100 bucks more. I was wondering which one you'd choose for esports games, as I couldnt find any review on the latter. Love.
Not tried the other, but a variation of it. It's hard to say, as normally I'd say get the IPS but in this instance this monitor ticks every box and even comes cheaper, as seen in the video.
@@TotallydubbedHD Yeah I will probably get the aoc one since i only really want a fast monitor for cs and dont really care about the ips image quality. TY for the reply!
decided to get this one for 200 after some thinking. the 24g2spu would be 185 with delayed shipping so i decided to take a risk on the va panel. Coming from ancicent 60z monitor this should be a massive upgrade. great videos btw will definitely keep an eye out for future videos
I've just came to this video after watching your other review of the AOC 24G2ZU. Out of the two, which would you recommend? I think i'm still going to go with the AOC 24G2ZU due to the USB hub, but would appreciate your thoughts.
Honestly it's hard to pick between these two. I'd have always said IPS but now this VA has thrown me off lol. It's my favourite VA monitor I've reviewed, and yet one of the cheapest too.
@@TotallydubbedHD I've already watched your analyses, and unfortunately only in your most recent analysis of the 25G3ZM monitor do you show response time in numbers. As for the 24G2ZU, you just say that it has great response time. And I doubt which of the 2 monitors would really be ideal for hardcore gaming
Hello thanks you for your video. I ve just bought the 25g3zm for me son, he have a 4060 gpu. Is it possible for you to give us an overview of the main settings you have to change to have the best perf and image quality ? Sorry for my english ( i am fresh😊). Thanks you for your help !
Currently using Alienware AW2521HF, hate it a lot. The ghosting and colors on extreme aka lowest response time is awful. Have to use GSYNC to make it disappear. Is this a good replacement over my current monitor for playing CS2 and Valorant among the 1% of players? (LVL 10 Faceit and Immortal)
@@TotallydubbedHD Well yeah, did not do much of a research on it when I initally got it. At the time it was on a huge discount and after selling my 144hz I got the monitor for basically $70. Got it a bit over 2 years ago. Also, any other 240hz or maybe even 360hz monitor with least amount of delay for a good price (not Zowie premium monitor) that you would recommend?
Hello. Thanks so much for this review. I am interested in buying a monitor for gaming. I want a 240 hz for gaming and mainly fps games as counter-strike 2 and valorant. I am into this monitor and a Ozone DSP24 240 TN 24" FHD 240Hz. Can you help me decide which one is better? Thanks in advance :)
Hey brother I watched the whole video and while I was looking in the input lag list I didnt seem to see the asus vg279qm/vg259qm on it. Where does it fall into if it was in the list?

I get it's crazy buying this monitor for multimedia/ movies but I specifically want a 1080p monitor of 24-25 inch size with 120hz or higher refresh rate that is non IPS. Impossible to find an OLED of this size for 1080p. Reason is IPS is terrible for watching darker scenes in movies. This monitor ticks all the boxes (up to 240hz, 300 nits, VA panel, small size) and is literally the only one that does that. I ordered it today, it should at least be better than my current 24inch 60hz HP 250 nits IPS monitor, even if just for the refresh rate to help with stutter in certain blu ray shots, since 120 and 240hz can be divided by 24 evenly.
Might be a little late to the party here, im currently shopping to upgrade from my 144hz benq zowie monitor and i am stuck between either the 240hz zowie monitor or this AOC monitor which caught my eye because of the pricetag, do you belive this AOC monitor would be a good upgrade in terms or preformance or is the zowie monitor still a better upgrade with the extra 200 usd price?
@@TotallydubbedHD Yeah, i watched all the way trough, sorry if i wasnt clear enough, i am stuck between the zowie XL2540K, and this AOC monitor. As an upgrade from my current 144hz zowie XL2411K, is the 240 hz zowie XL2540K worth the extra 200 usd or in your experience the AOC more than enough?
I'm currently in a dilemma between choosing the AOC 25G3ZM and the AOC 24G2SPU due to my gaming preferences, which range from FPS to MMO (I primarily FPS games, I'm more of a competitive player). I aim to cap the frame rate between 144fps to 200fps. However, I find myself leaning towards the AOC 25G3ZM for its superior color performance, though I've heard that VA panels might have issues with blacks (black objects) causing tearing/smearing problems. Alternatively, should I stick with the reliable AOC 24G2SPU?
Thank you for your responses. But I was wondering, what if we also included the BenQ MOBIUZ EX240 in our comparison? Although it may not have the same high refresh rate, could it still be a better choice for other reasons? (I'm probably overthinking this too much)
I really don't know if I buy this one or the AOC 24G2ZU... I play Valorant mostly but also enjoy to watch movies and videos.... what do you think? 25G3ZM is 179 euros and 24G2ZU is 193. Thanks man!

FYI the C27G2ZU doesn't have a 1ms GTG response time. No LCD monitor has a 1ms response time, that's just the monitor manufacturers throwing in misleading specs to advertise their monitors better. Every monitor manufacturer does this.
Depends on the port version, rather than the cable, would suggest watching this video and checking your specs: th-cam.com/video/daHrqIFieBU/w-d-xo.html

EDIT: 75% of the time I play esports titles, 20% casual gaming and 5% movies, if this helps in any way. I know tastes differ, but since you're an expert on the topic I wanted to see what would be your personal preference between these specific models
@@szantoarnold-istvan1571 what did you buy?
Firstly, your hunch was right, I can turn on the low input lag mode at the same time as freesync!
@@hdknxci yeah makes sense, but why are you doing that?

@@bobtx how are u finding the aoc compared to the benq?

@@Condred indeed, marketing!
Hi there just wondering if i can achieve a 240hz on this monitor without a display port cable but with a HDMI 2.1 cable?
Depends on the port version, rather than the cable, would suggest watching this video and checking your specs: th-cam.com/video/daHrqIFieBU/w-d-xo.html
What cable i need to use to have 240hz? Sorry for my bad english im from Spain
Need Help! Iam planing on buying a 144fps+ monitor. Currently iam using a Benq GW2470HE (60 fps). Iam very happy with that monitor and basically just want more fps. (I tried the koorui 24e3 monitor (ips) before and did not like it. Cant really describe it but it felt to dark and bright at the same time.)
Since i want to upgrade my BenQ GW2470HE I stumbled upon the BenQ Ex240N and LG 24gq50f-b. I am not sure which one of the two is the better monitor. Right now I am not really noticing dark smearing/ghosting when using my monitor (Does this have to do with my monitor beeing 60 fps?) and iam afraid that said two monitors might have these issues.
Upon further research I have read that people recommended the AOC 25G3ZM over the LG 24gq50f-b. Now iam totally unsure.
(I plan to play on 144fps - 165fps.)
Do you have any tips / recomendations? Thanks in advance!!!!
Yes, top recommendation: watch the review.
@@TotallydubbedHD Yes i watched the video, but iam unsure between those 3.
my mind is also telling me no, but my gaming is also telling me yes 🤣🤣🤣
😂
Can you comment on the black level/VA smearing of the monitor? I feel like you didn't address it enough in the video ... .
No issues, you'll see it from the UFO ghosting test.
do u think it has ghosting or anything like that because of the va panel in fast pace games like fortnite?
It has ghosting
can someone show the monitor's color settings?
no
Hello just bought this monitor and when im switching to Colour mode SRGB, my brightness is stuck at 20%. Is there any fix to that?
No, did you watch the video?
@@TotallydubbedHD i actually did , What settings would you say is the best for this monitor?
Should I get this or the AOC Gaming 24G2ZU ?
Either are excellent, but I'd say this one is arguably the best due to its contrast ratio
@@TotallydubbedHD thank you. Could you tell me the best 240hz+ 1080p monitor I can buy
@@Ohsoocruddy see the video, read the description??
@@TotallydubbedHD ah I see it thank you! Also you stated the AOC Q24G2A had really good response times. Could this be used for competitive gaming even though it is only 165hz and not 240+ ?
@@Ohsoocruddy would suggest watching the videos! And also watching the 240hz vs 300hz video...
Soo would you recommend this for me on Xbox series x ? Limiting it at 120Hz ?
For any console I'd suggest a 144Hz monitor, nothing more.
what do you think about samsung odyssey g4 240hz 1ms ips vs this aoc one which should i go for samsung is 230usd and aoc is 275usd
No idea, not tried it
should i have overdrive on or of on this monitor because I run games like Forza fortnite fivem/gta and should i have the amd freesync on or of
I have amd gpu (7800 xt), and when i have cs2 on 4:3 stretched, the game is sooo blurry and unplayable.. and i need to use super resolution in amd, to have it sharp. Any natural fix pls? Thxxx.
No idea, shouldn't have issues.
hey i currently have a 144hz 1440p monitor but i have an xbox and it only supports 144hz through displayport, would this support 120hz+ on hdmi? thanks
@@trokiethadon2415 consoles don't do anything above 120hz.
@@TotallydubbedHD yes but will it support just the 120hz through hdmi?
@@trokiethadon2415 watch the video, might help
i just bought the monitor but the low input lag setting is greyed out how do i fix`?
@@thenoobgam3r190 turn off Freesync. Pretty sure I covered it in the video?
just got this monitor replacing my couple years old acer gn246hl, it looks great but it feels like when im moving in competitive games theres like a somewhat motion blur? is this normal? not a very big fan of it currently
Not really sure what's going on there, not something I had an issue with. Presuming you're using it on the highest overdrive as suggested?
@@TotallydubbedHD hmm, it may be that im not used to the 240hz/VA panel? I had my previous for years (144hz IPS), maybe I just need to adjust to it
@@Nova-xm1me potentially...maybe do the UFO test (max OD on both) and compare your monitors' motion performance side by side?
@@Nova-xm1me Check if you have the refresh rate set correctly AND the overdrive mode engaged.
Im planning to make the same switch. Did you fix it?
how big is the stand because it looks big

Is alienware aw2523hf worth buying over this one aoc?
For the added premium and what it actually brings, no.
Can you attach the monitor on the wall?
Yes
