Can't answer the 'grass juice' question, but I do have to confess that in my youth I LOVED pulling the seed stalks off of our Bermuda grass front lawn and chew all the juices out and then reach for more.
This sounds like SMWS's Juicy Oak & Vanilla profile... not my favorite profile (Oily & Coastal, DRDF and anything peated are my favorites) and I only have 1 example on hand (that isn't one of their blended batches)... so I pulled it out. 108.68 Frolics in the Rose Garden at 14 yrs old and 58.3% ABV compares pretty well... Side-by-side, today's dram gets a little bit waxy on the nose. The SWMS pour leans a little more floral and less fruity sweet. It's also not QUITE as clingy. I don't mind either... both tasty, but not what I would generally reach for.
It seems easy enough to go in blind by yourself. You just need to take the bottle out with your eyes closed, pour it, place the bottle out of sight, then open your eyes and proceed.
This is probably the 2023 Diageo Special Release of Singleton, finished in Burgundy Chardonnay casks. It is 180$ CAD (125-130$ USD) here in Quebec and from your description there's a ton of other 180$ or even cheaper bottles I'd get before this. There is almost no reviews of Singleton expressions on TH-cam, do they actually make good/interesting whisky? (OB or IB)
Throwing my two cents here. Mainly on the glen ord line. I have yet to seen IBs of the singleton line of distilleries, and the OBs apart from the 12 don't sell good, esp the SRs. And the 12 yrs is only good as an easy entry towards scotch. It has a really smooth oily(not thick tho) palate and some easy to reach but thin flavors from bourbon and sherry casks, say vanilla and ripe berry, plus a hint of metallic note. Nothing offensive, nothing memorable, explaining the lack of reviews. And I'd guess the casks they use for non-SRs are quite tired cuz it's hard to get good vibrancy and complexity from anything older. Tried the 21 yrs once in an event, a ~$300 usd bottle, 43%, giving faint old leather, spice, cocoa powder and dried red berries and yellow fruits on a medium palate. Again, comfortable, but nothing to be excited about. As for the wine cask ones, never got to try one myself, so only hearsays from a whisky enjoyer frd, on the sauterne cask 13 yrs 40% and the SR 2023 in chardonnay cask. Mostly additive effect from the casks rather than reaction with the distillate. So yeah. Not really a bright one from the diageo group. Yet always put on front for some reason.

Thanks for the video 🥃
Thought about you and the whiskey vault as I was having a jumbo margarita with lunch.
I put some drop of water in this one, and it got way more salted-caramel sweet, which I looooove! So it wasn't all that bad for me!
Haha!! I said grass juice out loud exactly when you did! Deranged minds...
Grass juice! 😂🤣

Day 23, hope everyone is done with their shopping

I tried that last year and managed to catch accidental glimpses of names when I was reaching down to find the right bottle
Would like to know how the 12 compares to it. I can get the 12 at the PX for less than $40, but wasn’t sure if it’s any good.

From the sound of it this is a safe hard pass.
