THIS IS SO COOL!!! I'm really admire you! I'm sorry if these questions are too personal, but where are you from? in which university are you staying? are you an international student? have you received any kind of grant for the game? (I saw something about that (?) in the announcement trailer) I'm sorry that I'm so pushy, it's just I'm a 17 yo from Russia, I've just finished school, I also make games (!!), (also I'm queer,) and I'm just really confused right now. I really want to study abroad, in Europe, but I don't know anything about European universities. my English is pretty good, I'm sure I can study in English like right now, my grades are good too, not like perfect tho I think your answers can really help me, but thank you anyway for being so awesome ☆
No worries, hopefully I can help :D I'm a computer science student from Armenia, so I'm not exclusively learning game dev - but if you do want to pursue game dev specifically then it's better to get a game dev degree. If you have the opportunity, there are some universities in Germany, Spain, generally northern Europe (for example) that mix both work experience and university knowledge together, so I'd recommend looking into that, because you have both the experience of learning through work in "the modern world" instead of studying theory, and also something cool to write in your CV! (About university applications, that's a whole other mess that I think a TH-cam tutorial or online guide may help better with lol) I think something as important as university is networking though, so if you ever get the opportunity, go to game dev events, participate in challenges (there are so many online challenges too), talk to people with the same interests as you (because you'll also motivate each other to work harder ahhaha), maybe even find a mentor from a gaming company that can help you with questions! About the grant, I signed up to a program that gave free business/marketing education to people with artistic ideas, and at the end of the program I got a grant after being automatically signed into the scheme. Basically be proactive, surround yourself with cool people who have the same goals as you, have a mind like a sponge etc etc I saw the plants and snake game you're making which was cool ^^ you definitely know more about gamedev than I did at 17 so you're doing great, keep it up and don't worry!! I'm sure you'll get to your goals :D
@VanakatuTheGame omg, thank you so so so much!!! thank you for taking time for me, I really really appreciate it!!! at least now I know in which way to look at!! you sure gave me some confidence :) ps. I was in Armenia multiple times, and I really like it :)
PS: In your other video -> th-cam.com/video/jrtysiCs5q0/w-d-xo.html The comments are turned off because you marked the game as "For Kids". The very same happened to me. It seems that TH-cam does not allow comments for videos that are marked for kids since comments nowadays are "dangerous"
Awesome Devlog, the layered approach to the environment factoring in for perspective is a super intriguing approach!

I need more plants for my dev blog
