I've been using this watch as a daily work watch since I got it in 2017. Its 2022 and its still going strong. No issues at all! Wonderful, dependable no nonsense watch. I let it get some extra sunlight per the manual, to recharge as needed.
I have had this watch since 2013. Fantastic every day watch. It still looks great with no scratches on crystal. For an aviator watch I like it better than the Seiko flightmaster. The chronometer works very well. I had no problems switching out the bracelet for natos and rotate different colors throughout the year. While I have different and more expensive ones this is and will remain one of my favorites. Also probably the most accurate watch I own.
I love this watch. Owned one before and ended up selling it to make funds for another purchase. Fast forward several months and I rebought the watch as a gift for my dad. He also loves it. A lot of watch for the money definitely. Glad you got around to trying out this model. By far my favorite watch from Citizen.
Here we go -- yes! My favorite Blue Angels edition Citizen watch (or that I have seen and played with) anyways -- they're all super-nice however, but this one really grabbed my heart from the very beginning!
I bought mine years ago. Could never get the atomic radio signal from Colorado to the Philadelphia suburbs. Until now. One good thing to come out of this terrible pandemic.
In the manual it tells you to place the watch on your window sill with the stems facing out (Towards the window). Works perfect. It checks for update at 02 hundred and if no signal it automatically checks again at 03 hundred. I had no reception here on the Bayou at the edge of the Gulf of Mexico in my house but on the windowsill it works every night. love this watch.
What's great about these A.T. Citizen watches is that they are 100% accurate, as long as you are within range of an atomic clock tower. Here in North America, the watch intercepts a signal every night from Fort Collins Colorado and calibrates itself to atomic time. It takes some time to set them, but once their set, you will never have to touch them. They have a perpetual calendar and the watch will switch automatically to DST and back to standard time.
I own this watch and I love it. I have had this watch for about 16 years....and never had any issues with it. The sapphire crystal is fantastic. You'd think other luxury watches would follow same suit, but nope they do mineral.
Nice job. Great evaluation Rob. Just to mention right quick, a press of the bottom bottom will check the battery status (top inner dial) and the bottom inner dial will indicate if the watch has received the atomic signal in the last 24 hours. Ok- yes it has. Rx- actively receiving signal. No- did not receive today’s signal. I would like to see your comparison between this one and the Nighthawk.
I had a citizen that i beat to death wearing 24-7 in a factory, my hockey league, etc. Had it about 10 years and it just wore out appearance wise. Plan on replacing it with a blue angel model if it has an alarm
Hello, I own this same model of watch, and every start of a new day I discover that it increases the time by about 45 minutes. I adjust the time, and the same thing happens again on the second day, and I do not know how to resolve the issue. Thank you.
Cool watch with nice features. The dial a little too busy for me to purchase though. Great review. I gotta check out your Bro in law to see those wrists! 😃
Great video! My parents had asked for suggestions for Christmas so I had asked for this watch, hopes up that I actually get this watch for Christmas. This watch is super unique, the yellow accents on the outskirts, just the style of the watch seems like it would stand out and according to this gentleman, this watch is great for value. If you're reading this have a blessed day!
Thanks for this review, I really enjoyed it. You mentioned reviewing a navihawk, please do. Im interested to know whether you can access and use the various functions whilst the watch is on the wrist.
I love this watch- I wanted to have a smaller collection of 3-4 watches and I already own a grand Seiko springdrive, a Seiko Marinemaster (sbdx017)and an omega from 1959 along with a Seiko flightmaster (sna411) not sure when I would wear this as it’s too nice to be a beater(regardless of price I don’t think it would look great beat up!)... but I love it and it’s such a great watch for the money. I think I’m going to swap it for the flight master and maybe get a Casio/g shock as a proper beater as I just adore the look of this watch and it’s good to have the solar& radio stuff. Who was I kidding about a smaller collection 😂
Can you make a review of the new Citizen Skyhawk Blue Angels JY8078-52L? It’s a great timepiece and I have yet to see a full review from a big timepiece reviewer. New subscriber btw
A solar AT Eco-Drive watch is hard to beat. It will always be running and set to the EXACT time! That is a VERY capable watch. For all the business on the dial, it’s also very legible! Love it!❤️. I have had a couple of Eco-Drive watches (one for nearly 20 years) and have never had a battery go bad. I am sure they do at some point, but they last a LONG TIME!
Both my wife and I have Citizen's watches, she was concerned about the battery life as she doesn't wear it daily. I contacted Citizen and was told the life is approximately 40 years. After 20 years the battery still holds about 80% of its charging capacity.
Not really a review--just Rob rambling on and on about a watch he only has a passing familiarity with. Lots of REAL reviews on TH-cam for those of looking for real information. Maybe Rob can post a few links to those, in order to save future viewers the frustration I just went through?
Ray Friedman This video was perfect for my purposes. Mainly I wanted to see it from a 360 view without the funky lighting that online retailers show the watch in. I can read the functions directly from Citizen’s website if I wanted that.
Stay away from Citizen's eco-drive. My first was a skyhawk, that worked well for about a year then stopped working (did you know it can't be repaired). I gave it another shot with a nighthawk. I wore it once for about 4 hours. Then it stopped working. Citizen has major issues with the whole eco-drive system. Stay away, unless you like a dust collector.
@ Stephen Zacher. Did you check the section of the Citizen Operations Instruction Manual that came with your 2 Eco-Drive watches to see if the problem with your Eco-Drive watches could be fixed by, for example, exposing the watches to a long period of sunlight or resetting the watches to their factory default settings? I have owned a number of Citizen Eco-Drive watches over many years and they all worked perfectly with the notable exception that on my Skyhawk watches and my first Promaster Nighthawk watch, the second hand would not land precisely on the minute markers consistently as the second hand moved around the watch dial. If you send an email message to Citizen Customer Service or call the Citizen Customer Service phone number and describe the problem that you are having with your Eco-Drive watches they might be able to tell you how to correct the problem. If your Citizen Eco-Drive watches need servicing then you could mail them your watches to have Citizen repair them.
This watch is in my collection. Love all my Citizen watches.

I just bought mine at a thrift store for $72 I love it.

LOTS OF FAKE WATCHES OF THIS MODEL ....BEWARE
I have one of these and it is my favorite, but I am really impressed with the quality of your camera.
It's a smartphone dude, have you heard of them?

Another cool watch...but I think I would need to change my prescription just to read the functions on the dial. Thank you for sharing Rob :)
Never arm wrestle your brother in law for a beer.
Wow, pretty cool watch. I didn't know these had radio sync. I love that feature on my Casio Oceanus.
Mine stop working , is it a battery issue? Any body know ?

Thanks bro. Yeah these fancy models have so many features for sure. If there is no instructional video maybe I should make one.

My only main gripe is the lume…it is average at best.
Cool watch Rob
How can I tell if the radio control feature is turned on? How do I turn it on?

I like this series that Bluetooths to the phone.
So much technology in a Watch is crazy talk. How do they do it???????
Does this watch Bluetooth to the phone cuz I wasn’t aware of it. Or am I misunderstanding? Super Curious now!!!
No this one doesn’t. Citizen has a module movement that does and it’s in some other models. Maybe I will review one this summer.
Ty. I was sure I didn’t have that cool feature.
Wish they'd make a smaller version of this watch for women.
Awsome T&E as usual. The lūm did surprise me in comparison to your Seiko.
The lume works great, citizen did amazing job with this model and features for value price.
23mm 😙
Cool watch with nice features. The dial a little too busy for me to purchase though. Great review. I gotta check out your Bro in law to see those wrists! 😃
His channel has some really good cooking on it.
It isn’t all night lume, but respectable for an hour or so. The lume comparison would be a cool video!
I have this watch as well - and the lume is also my biggest complaint. Def could be better.
Great video! My parents had asked for suggestions for Christmas so I had asked for this watch, hopes up that I actually get this watch for Christmas. Did you get it for xmas?
Liking it? I just ordered mine for $340
7:07 - His brother in law must be massively obese or like a roided to the gills pro-strongman. That strap is huge.
He is a tall man large frame.
@@RandomRobReviews He must be huge. Yours is the best watch channel. I hope you have a good New Years.
Head 2 head would be great!
Hi, is the top case of this watch is a metal edge or it's a whole sapphire glass ?
Do you know how can I get extra links for this watch?
Thanks for this review, I really enjoyed it. You mentioned reviewing a navihawk, please do. Im interested to know whether you can access and use the various functions whilst the watch is on the wrist.
Would be great if a navihawk owner would lend in. My watch funds are way gone. Time for a sell off?
Awesome
Who is the eBay retailer that sells this watch?
I also owned this one. It’s a great watch, especially since it’s the only Blue Angels series that I know of with a sapphire crystal
It’s a great value for sure. Great option for everyday quartz
Does annoy me how it's not the standard now, I am too clumsy to buy anything without sapphire crystal glass
WOW there is a LOT going on in that dial. at a quick glance, what's the time? no idea.. Thanks for the vid Rob
Can you do a video on how to set time and date on this watch

FatSamEIE 1959 Omega how much you paid for ?
Nice watch Rob!
I was actually looking for a comment from Bruce here! :D

If someone has it and sends it in sure.
Is this watch recommended for work use? I'm afraid of scratches in the blue Lunette
Queri um maravilhoso.😊
damn im selling mine and you posting this makes me wanna keep it haha. but i cant have them all
Some people try to keep them all, that’s way too many for me.

I don’t review, I just offer a video for others to decide on their own.

Have had my eco drive for a year. Has worked flawlessly. Did you allow it to get a full charge in direct sunlight??
@VeteranPilot happened to me twice. I wish it didn't.
My watch on the video working fine and gets radio signal and everything. It's been 2 years and mostly sits under a lamp for power.
Hey man I just want to know how to set the watch wasted my time don’t need a damn review 👎🏾👎🏾
Manual has that info
So why did you click on a watch review? Lol
