ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it's true. So what's motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn't an easy time but I won't let fear dictate my life. I didn't think 'why me', there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it's not always smooth sailing. It's true when you hear, 'Life is short', the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It's so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?

The fact that she didn’t win American Idol still blows my mind but then again, Jennifer Hudson came is 7th, Chris Daughtry lost and so did Katherine McFee as well as Adam Lambert!

The only thing that prevented Haley from being the winner of American Idol in season 10 was power-voting. Had American Idol not permitted power-voting, Haley would have won the show in a major landslide going away. In fact, it was power-voting that inevitably led to the downfall of American Idol.

Still going strong, such a great concept and great artists. I love Haley’s performance, but darn Effie Passero’s versions was ridiculously good as well

@@jeremywong3056 it is the way scott bradley has composed this version. And yes, effie is not haley. Quite liked it when she went opera style, which haley didn’t. And haley has that incredible playful sensuality in her voice, which effie does not have. That is not pimping. It is an observation of two incredibly good singers
@@sportysp Scott Bradley did the composition but not the way Haley delivered it - no one else can. Haley spontaneously did this because of her musicality genius.
Haley's strength in addition to the incredibly rich rasp in her voice, which makes her very uncommon by itself, is a combination of many things:
- she has above average range in her chest register and a decent lower register as long as she doesn't try to live there.
- She has a powerful voice.
- She has a great head voice which gives her another octave of very useful notes.
- She has an incredible whistle tone which is one of the best out there.
- She can growl, yodel and even trill which is very hard to do.
And the real kicker is, she can move between all of these modes effortless, in that the average person wouldn't be able to notice it because it is such a smooth transition. It is as if there is a master pianist playing chords in her throat like there is no tomorrow, I have never heard anything like it. On top of having one of the most versatile voices out today, she also has an excellent sense of what works, emotionally and musically, and pantomime what the lyrics depicts. Haley adds her unique panache to any song by giving life to the lyrics. You can like Effie Passero for whatever; but, please don't pimp her on any video of Haley Elizabeth Reinhart.

She wasn’t feeling well and did this on the first take if the background I read about this was correct. That is the most amazing part to me if true.
That is correct. She was not feeling well and tried to postpone the recording, but they talked her into it and she nailed it on the first take.
It's as if Jessica Rabbit and Merilin Monroe had a baby girl with a god-like voice. Simply amazing
There are a few covers that PMJ have done that I love more than the originals. This is one of them. Haley's voice and the way she sings this make this song awesome. She is in complete control of the song and the vibe that it gives off the entire time.
I also like Maiya Sykes' PMJ rendition of Boulevard of Broken Dreams....
So great to watch really gifted, talented, professional singers lose their minds over Haley's performances. She really is a gifted, one of a kind. You cannot disagree.
Every time I hear her voice it sends shivers down my back in the best way possible. I don't even like American Idol but i fell in love with her the first time I heard her voice.
I love watching reactions to this, but seeing professional singers react is my favorite. It just nails home exactly how special her talent is, how special this performance was, and what an amazing instrument was on display.
Rebecca, your youtube programming is getting better and better with each passing video which is incredible considering you've been a star on this channel since the very beginning - congrats to you and have a fantastic 2021!

They are drop dead amazing live. It's easily in my top 3 live shows I've ever experienced. It's one of the best covers of anything ever. I've easily listened to this track 100 times or more. It's just, it's what makes music a beautiful thing.
Haley's amazing, she could sing the text on the back of the toilet air freshener and even that would give me goosebumps.

John Lee Hooker put a microphone INTO a toilet bowl to create the proper sound for his recordings. (doubt there was air freshener for toilets back then).

She came from a family of jazz blues and rock entertainers. Shes been doing this since she was a kid. She has a video of her and her dad playing guitar. 2 songs and one is an original. Shes freaking awesome. I noticed she cleaned the song up some. The original used the F bomb.

There are a lot of clips on YTof her performing this live over the years, and she always drops the F bomb at some stage. Her fans wait for it, an always react. It's part of her routine now. It irritates me, but the fans seem to enjoy it, so Haley makes thing of it.
Yeah,I saw a version of it where she used the F-bomb too. The original version had it and I'm not a fan of cursing in a song. Same with comedy! I'd rather here comedy with no cursing and more thought going into the act.

It doesna really bother me, but it's like someone in a public place cursing and swearing with no care for people who be uncomfortable or upset about such language. It certainly doesna give the song any greater impact as far as I can see.

Rrrrebecca, I know you'll recall Eddie Vedder's performance of Black (MTV Live Unplugged) and the part when he's literally "pouring" off of his stool with physicality and energy/emotion. Epic. Your reaction to this video and your own physical response remind me of Eddie in that video. I respond the same way as you to Haley's performance. Love.. love... love this song.. since Radiohead brought it out! I mean LOVE!!!! Larissa's jazz version of it.. is sooooo wonderful. I have loved her since I seen her on American Idol... and you should check out all her performances of hers from that year. She killed every performance!!! That year was so loaded with talent though. She is soooooo talented... love her range.. and her scatting is on point! She does kinda remind me of Rachel Price of Lake Street Dive..... with the jazz power in a modern flair type way!!! Like you just can't deny these type of vocalists in the way of owning a vocal!!! If you haven't listened to Rachel Price.. do a deep dive of all of her performances.. solo and with Lake Street Dive. What I'm Doing Here.. Want You Back .. from a Boston sidewalk! Dang... talent!!! Also... Lukas Rossi did a performance of Creep on Rockstar Supernova that truly slayed.. and is one of my faves to date! Believe it or not he has operatic training.. so it's interesting to hear him take on this style for his career. Anyway... a bit long winded of me.. sorry Rebecca .. great reaction!!! :)

I love PMJ, seen them live twice. Love their covers of umbrella and all about that base. One of the few cover bands who's covers are better than the originals.

Oh wow, if that isn't one of the most instantly likeable voices I have ever heard, then I don't know what is. As her voice is magic and her vocal theatrics and vocal control are off the charts. Indeed, she deserves to be world famous.
Haley actually is world famous already. She began her career on American Idol years ago and now sings all over the world at Jazz festivals. You should check her out singing while Jeff Goldblum and his band provide backing instruments. Simply amazing music !!!
@@pettyeddie2000 That's funny. World famous? No, not nearly. In fact, Haley Reinhart always remains very obscure because she has refused for years to sign a record deal. As not only can her music not be played on the radio, but she also can't appear on network TV.
Hence, most people have never even heard of Haley, let alone have ever heard her sing. Meanwhile, Haley hasn't sang at Jazz festivals since she was in high-school. In any event, just because you got lucky and discovered her, don't assume the public in general has done the same because I assure you they never have.

Haley is the best. As her voice and vocal control are both off the charts. I just wished she would sign a record deal so she can explode into the big leagues where she belongs.
She doesn’t want to sell her soul to the devil which is what you have to do to make it big.
@@robbin.s Really? Haley doesn't want to sell her soul to the devil? Is that what music artists like Lauren Daigle and Tori Kelly, who are both very successful religious music artists, did when they signed their respective record deals with major record labels is sell their souls to the devil?
Other than having a very fulfilling and successful lifetime career, what's bad about selling your soul to the devil. Do you go to hell when you die or something?
Moreover, how does one go about contacting the devil to sell his or her soul? Is there some sort of voodoo ceremony held to sell your soul to the devil. Since you are obviously an expert, I figure you know all the ins and outs to it.
Meanwhile, I assume that like most people, you also sold your soul to the devil to have the career you have. Hence, why is it okay for you to sell your soul but it is not okay for Haley to sell her soul?
Finally, let me ask you a very serious question. Did your very dumb mother drop you on your head when you were a little baby and so today you are just as severely mentally deficient as your very dumb mother? I mean, what else can explain your immense stupidity?
