I so needed to hear this. Define the WHY. Thank you for that. What keeps me going, as a caregiver to an elderly parent, and a job? My why is .....because of love. My love for my family, my husband - but especially for myself. Sometimes I have to find that love. When I am tired, or irritable. Just like I need gas to refuel my car? I have to refuel myself to keep going. It can be as simple as me saying "I love me today", or "Im really going to love the end of this workday", definitely "I love Mom"...It is a mantra, it is a meditation...It is a continual cycle of love that motivates me. The Clark Sisters are such a blessing, this was a joy to rewatch this!
They... One the most Legendary gospel group in this history, responsible for creating fundamental techniques for the structure of music as it is known today. They, and especially their leader, gospel genius Twinkie Clark, are simply historic.
So to make a long story short. My mom passed in 2010 from brain cancer(I was 16 at the time). For years post her passing, I would always get depressed around September all the way up through the holidays. However I didn't know why. Found out through therapy my mind was trying to block the memory of my mom passing to protect me because I was not allowing myself to grieve. My therapist told me this one thing that has changed my life. "Now that you know that you go through seasonal depression from sept- Jan. What will you do to stay happy?" I realized we have the freedom to choose to be happy or choose to stay depressed. So I make sure I listen to joyous music during the holiday. Music is definitely my peace. I make other choices outside of music to make sure I'm not falling into that depression.

Interesting question at the end. Going on a long walk along the sea or in a field always reminds me of the bigger picture. It’s so easy to lose perspective during difficult times. Realistically, we are tiny drops in a huge ocean of people and things. If we can put a smile on someone else’s face then that’s totally enough of a positive step. Great reaction!

Fun fact: Their mother (Dr. Mattie Moss Clark) Owned and operated a conservatory in Detroit called the Clark Conservatory and they all (all 5 girls) participated in the building and instruction in particular Karen and Dorinda.
Wow these ladies are beautiful,.not even singing full on and yet so awesome. Terrell is hilarious, nice reaction.
