I am from Detroit, Michigan. The Clark Sisters are Home town legends! They are the best signers in the world. They do this on any given Sunday. Detroit is home of the best of best in gospel. Also this is black church. This is what praising is to us. Just a few tidbits about them, their mother is Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. She is a gold artist with the southwest Michigan’s choir. She invented and perfect the 3 part harmony. That is a fact! She’s the one who gave us this greatness! So if you want to know anything about them you need to start with their mother. Dorinda sounds almost exactly like her mother. Everything you hear and commented on about her voice is a direct reflection of their mother’s influence. You commented about the organ. That is Twinkie Clark playing. She wrote and composed the song. She writes all of their songs and has done so for 4 decades. They have tons of awards and accolades. They also have the respect of all gospel singers. You need to review a song called Jesus is a love song, by Karen Clark Sheard, she holds a note for at least 30 seconds and comes out of it perfectly… it’s so beautiful ❤ you’re blessed to have discovered them! Their music is infectious and will captivate your soul. 🙏🏽
I think that’s Dorinda’s sister Twinkie, a musical genius in her own right, and architect of that unmistakable gospel sound on the organ.
My fave part is 10:49 when we all think it’s over and Dorinda still has more in the tank lol. I think even the choir was surprised lol.

So out of everyone I like Dorinda's voice the best. I like the uniqueness of it. Yes I like Karen I've even heard her live. And her vocal acrobatics are for the history books, Twinkie great. But Dorinda I love the raspiness.
I hope you find their Lifetime biopic and get a chance to watch. It's a dramatization but it may help get more context around group and better identify their roles within the family and group. You've only just scratched the surface my friend. The Clark Sisters are EVERYTHING! An afternoon or evening just watching their youtube videos will lift your spirit in ways you never imagined. So much good energy.
You should check Karen out from the same concert I won’t complain…she starts impossibly high…then takes the key up twice!!!

He does so well with this song. I thought it was his forever. I grew up listening to Rev. James Moore, Frank Williams, and The Mississippi Mass Choir even more so than the Clark Sisters.
