I remember when Deep Blue Sea first came out, I was really into it as a kid. I looked up things about it online and originally there was talk of a sequel called "Deep Red Sea". I think Decker might've mentioned this or maybe I'm imagining it. But the original sequel was suppose to follow Preacher and his family. At the end of the first movie he asked "Was it really just three sharks" and it turns out the company lied and actually experimented on 12 sharks, leaving 9 remaining. While Preacher is on vacation with his family at a beach resort/hotel, there's an earthquake which causes the building to fall into ocean and the town/city to be partially flooded. Then the sharks arrive.
6:33 If you feel like splitting hairs, sharks don't really eat people. They tear them to shreds yes and swallow some bits, but more often than not they end up vomiting up whatever bits they took from you, which later wash up on random beaches. Although I don't think this knowledge does much consoling for the people missing their bits...then again they're dead so why would they care either way right?
When the guy said "I would rather die then be like you" then jumps overboard. For a weird second i thought Decker put the shark in there. But he didn't, the movie just started stupid mode and ditched a brain cell or three.
Yeah decker shado makes a good point, sharks maybe less agressive than in movies... but their still massive predators that coulf easily kill you... so you may want to not just stay around them all the time
Yeah, 2 people living on an island sounds ridiculous, but then I remember that here in PA we have the town of Centralia. Coal mine fire has been burning beneath the town since the 60s, so the population declined rapidly, until 5 last I heard. 5 people continue to live in a nearly uninhabitable town until their deaths, as agreed upon with the local government, after which the remaining houses will be condemned. (I recommend reading some articles if anyone is interesting, it's a really cool history. As well as part of the inspiration for the Silent Hill movie.)
1:15 "They tried to convince us that the real horror was *baby sharks* " Me, with that song stuck in my head because of a two-year-old: They succeeded... Do Do-do Do-do
The only mistake the scientists in the first film made was conducting their experiments out at sea. Instead of you know building an aquarium inland or on a private island. It would have to be a lot cheaper and easier than a deep sea laboratory.
Playing devil's advocate, if they'd built a proper facility on land, there is no way they'd have gotten away with the genetic tampering for as long as they did. Making their lab nigh unreachable is the only reason they were able to operate with such impunity. Of course, on the other hand, it would have been easier and less time consuming to just have more sharks to harvest from instead of making their brains bigger. lol
Except that makos (which they specifically were using) can't be kept in captivity. Like great whites, they are pelagic and need the freedome of the open ocean, othrwise they get depressed, stop eating and die. They also resist being fed - unlike dolphins or other sea creatures, they need to HUNT, not simply EAT, to survive. If they cannot satisfy that predatory drive to chase down and kill their prey, it messes with their prehistoric minds so much that they begin to 'shut down'.
@@DerpDevilDD Doctor Doom, the Marvel character, was the ruler of his own country. Even if he was clearly being an evil mastermind, the fact that he had diplomatic immunity was bolstered by the fact that nobody would willingly invade his country to stop him - it was too much trouble!
You are more likely to be killed by a dog than a shark, in fact, shark attacks are even more rare than most people realize. It's like worrying about your plane going down when you are immensely more likely to die in a car wreck on the way to the airport than your plane going down.
