  • Montreal Canadiens at New York Rangers on November 23, 1993 from Madison Square Garden in New York City. I apologise in advance as I wasn't able to preserve the entire game but did manage to get the first and second periods.

I had so many games from that season as a kid on VHS tapes including every playoff game but they’re all gone now sadly lost now.
I remember the Rangers had a so so October but really picked it up in November I think only losing once the entire month. Of course it had to be against the Islanders 😠

Phil Bourque, one of the black aces was my neighbor and he got us tickets to a lot of home games . We used to go up to the wives lounge after the game and would get to see all the players. Such a great season. If the guy whose channel is reading this, I would donate to your channel if you can get more games up from this season. Not really looking for the playoff games bc I’ve watched them a million times but anything 92-94 would be great, thanks again

@@AntVal1986 That’s cool man! One of the best regular season games that year was in LA and I was 16 at the time on a school night but stayed up to watch the whole game that didn’t end till almost 1 AM. Rangers blew a 4-1 lead with the Kings tying it at 4 and game goes to OT. With like 10 seconds left in overtime the Kings Tony Granato leaned out on the ice from the bench and interfered and the ref saw it. Tony Amonte is awarded a penalty shot as he was the guy w the puck at the time and Kelly Hrudey makes the save and BTW he had made over 50 saves this game. Rangers could of had 10 goals easy that night.
So anyway it looks like the game is over now w a few seconds left and it’s gonna be a tie but there was enough time for Messeir to win a face off in the Kings zone and gets the puck back to the point. Shot goes toward the net and Messeir gets the rebound and scored with 1 or 2 seconds left. Crazy game, great win, Sam & JD went nuts on commentary. Just a fantastic game that I haven’t seen since way back then.

@@rustykuntz94 I would LOVE to watch that game. I vaguely remember it. I forgot about the amonte penalty shot but I remember the messier OT goal from the highlight tapes. I was 8 years old in 94 and my parents used to make me go to bed after the second period lol. Any other good regular season games that u remember ? I’d love to watch the Anaheim game in its entirety. I know they played like crap but I kinda would like to see how leetch was playing to see if all that shit with Keenan was necessary

@@rustykuntz94 also I enjoy watching the games and listening to all the old stories that were in the hockey news at the time. Like the referree strike. I forgot all about that. I like hearing what was going on back then

At some point in this game there was a classic Patrick Roy losing his temper spot after the Habs were down. He goes out behind his net and nails Mike Gartner w a hard check into the boards and got 2 minutes 😂

This Rangers team was hugely stacked with depth, toughness, D, and goaltending...Richter was a good goalie having a great year. And at the deadline the moves they made actually subtracted from the teams offense firepower (removing Amonte and Gartner) and bringing in veteran toughness + a still effective but not as good as Gartner former Oiler legend Glenn Anderson) the pieces they acquired were enough to win the Cup, and one (Matteau) played a huge part. But if they didnt make those trades at all I wonder if they win the Cup anyway

Roy was one of the early cheaters in terms of bulking up his goalie gear. He was great anyway but around 92, 93 you started to see him and Garth Snow start looking a bit too micheliny
