I watched this game as a teenager, & i remember my Dad (former goalie) saying if Boston isn't careful, Tugger will get into a groove & he might steal one. I told him he was nuts, Boston is gonna win like 8-2, Bourque will zip a hattrick with that laser of a wrist shot he had. Shows what I knew LOL Bourque had 19 shots on goal, only scored once 🤣 But, the respect Boston showed Tugnutt after the game (I've seen the post game interviews, etc) was outstanding. Too bad he had almost no support in his Quebec / Ottawa days.

NHL was so much better back then!!!!!!! way more entertaining! Especially the Leafs

This Rangers team was hugely stacked with depth, toughness, D, and goaltending...Richter was a good goalie having a great year. And at the deadline the moves they made actually subtracted from the teams offense firepower (removing Amonte and Gartner) and bringing in veteran toughness + a still effective but not as good as Gartner former Oiler legend Glenn Anderson) the pieces they acquired were enough to win the Cup, and one (Matteau) played a huge part. But if they didnt make those trades at all I wonder if they win the Cup anyway

Roy was one of the early cheaters in terms of bulking up his goalie gear. He was great anyway but around 92, 93 you started to see him and Garth Snow start looking a bit too micheliny

Selanne pulled off some of the sickest moves of all time. One time I saw him bounce the puck off of his left instep back out to the right where he blasted a one timer. Was skating full speed the whole time never broke stride.

Stupid commentary

The game should have ended 5-3. Hoggarth called back the Bruins fifth goal, and the commentators even proved at about the 2:14:00 mark that the puck went in before the whistle. Then they spent the rest of the game claiming that it was no goal. Then Hoggarth didn't call, what the commentators claimed was clearly a tripping penalty against Hartford, which should have made their 4th goal no good. There should have been no overtime. Boston won 5-3.
