    Quick question: do you have a press pass or special consideration from FDNY to document their work? You seem to have access to film from up close. Either way, it’s great.

    Thank you John, you always have the best coverage. Blessings and stay safe. Try those boots again. You don't need cold, wet feet. Thank you FDNY and The EMT's. Exceptional work, as always. Crazy, and hungry fire. Blessings to you all. Thoughts with the injured Firefighter. Thoughts with the owner of the Body Shop, employees, and the people whose cars, etc. were destroyed in this catrosphy. Take care of yourselves all. 🚒 🌟

      Seemed like a hell of a lot of manpower for all that was being accomplished. A lot of standing around with hooks in the air. With all the explosions going on it seemed they were hesitant to really attack it at first.

    • @lknewcassell
      @lknewcassell 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Eastman4 Once a fire goes beyond the first alarm, you cannot have all personnel fighting the fire at once because at various points, those fighting the fire have to be relieved. Fresh personnel on hand for a fire of indeterminate duration is critical.

    • @Eastman4
      @Eastman4 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@lknewcassell Yes I understand that totally, especially when interior attack is being involved. But from all the video I’ve seen this 1 story building was well involved and already through the roof on arrival, and with all the explosions happening I really doubt that there was any interior attack happening. This was totally an exterior fire fight, surround and drown if you will.

    But you can buy a pair of chemical boots, fire boots or just a good set of GoreTex boots or shoes. And just keep them in your car. So your feet will not get wet. Hell they make GORE-TEX socks.

    One could assume that the bloke swearing at 3:40 is watching his car getting roasted. Anyway this shop is really going off, thanks to lots of paint, thinner and other highly flammable stuff! Well, I forget: plus cars, of course!
    And the cause of the blaze? Wouldn't be a surprise if it had been a Li - Ion battery attached to some power tool used for autobody jobs!
    However, as this Li - Ion baloney goes off like fireworks at the slightest bump or malfunction, it is time for an international industry standard - to sieve off all this cheap stuff made in a faraway country! And do NOT buy power drills or cutoff machines that sell at less than 15 USD!!!!
    I remember a Dremel power drill - US made - that I had bought sometime in the 90s and that lasted over 25 years! That was Quality, guys!!!!

    These fire sites in NYC always look like absolute chaos but nevertheless they are most likely well managed and the fires are eventually put out by the agency. With the amount toxic materials being burned during this blaze I can think the bad chemicals will enter the fire personnel's airways especially when the majority of members never don their SCBA masks. I hope you stay safe sir and as always - great video.

    Great video, JJ! Do we need to pass a boot around to get you some good waterproof boots for the winter? We'd hate to see you get frost nipped chasing these fires for our entertainment. I'd be happy to chip in. 😊

    These places are virtual matchboxes with all the combustibles they use. Sad to see someone's business have this happen. Hopefully, they'll rebuild and install a fire suppression system this time around. Tough/expensive lesson. Nice coverage as always! Time to get a pair of 'duck boots', winter is coming.

    You just need to put a good pair of boots and extra socks in the car. This way your feet stay dry during a fire filming session !!
    Love your content btw.
    Greetz from Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
    Back in the days I used to do the same as you are doing now, but a couple of years ago they switch over from analog to a scrambled digital communication system(P2000). So we can not listen to the services anymore...only have a pager to receive official alarm messages.

    Not just boots but I think sometimes you should have an SCBA because you get so close to the fires! Tell the FDNY I told them to supply you with a Mask!! I think it’s great that they allow you such great access.

    Hey "JJ", if that crappy water gets any worst, you may have to get your own hazmat outfit and a freak'n boat !!! A+++ fire coverage as usual !!! 👍👍👍

    You have some great qualities in your videos.. Keep up the good work with do please stay safe.. I'll admit, this kind of fire they should have used foam to put out the fire in places like the auto body shops...........

    Hope you had a good mask on . Those fires tend to be hazardous materials . Stuff causes some very bad nervous system damage if inhaled . IM sure FDNY had a hazmat truck deployed for this . great job as always my friend

    Body shops have all kinds of fun explosive chemicals and paints to go off like this one is! That would be very scary to be in close...shrapnel could be deadly.

    Tremendous video, as always. What a mess!!! It says body shop but also garage that does oil changes etc. There would have been both new and used oil in that place. Gonna be a brutal clean up. If it was me who had to clean up the hoses...I'd just buy new 😁

    Great video, FDNY has their hands full, a lot of different liquids to worry about, not counting the vehicles inside the building. This fire had a head start on the members. Severe damage to the structure. Stay safe.
