Thank you for the shoutout and we’re glad you enjoy the videos 😊❤ We are going to be pin trading in Disney World in April, so will have to keep a keen eye out on the pins 😅
I literally cannot comprehend that mystery packs (5) are $45.00 now. This is literally more than I spend on groceries or gas weekly. Price increases are inevitable, but $45.00 is so incredibly unreasonable, especially when they've increased 50% in the last few years.
I had a hard time justifying $40 a pack but now that they went up to $45, I will be drastically limiting my pin purchases! Sad to say, but that'll be the reality for a lot of us
Awe, congratulations on the little boy! I hope we get to see him in a future video. The price of pins has gone crazy. I was there last month, and mystery boxes were $19.99, then last weekend we went and the price had jumped to $22.99. Disney doesn't seem to make any effort to stop the counterfeiting. So frustrating. I wish they would host some "exclusive" boards where they only except real pins for trade. I keep recommending this when they send me surveys. Don't toss the fakes you got. I've gotten stuck with some fakes and decided to just start putting them in a small book. Then when I'm in Sid's and little kids come up with their fake pins and want to trade, I can let them trade out of that separate book. It's a little better than just saying "no".
Thank you! Yeah the prices are pretty steep. I understand the cost of everything has gone up but with these being so cheap to make, the price difference from 2021 to now is pretty crazy! I will hold onto a few just in case!
I've been brewing in my brain for the last couple years trying to solve the scrapper problem. Best I can come up with is similar to what you are suggesting... each park to have 2-3 pin boards at some of the "big" locations and have them labeled as "Authentic" pin boards and have those monitored by a knowledgable cast member. Then there would still be the all the other pin boards that are kind of free-for-all (still monitored like normal but not restricted) where people could trade scrappers. The trouble with those boards is that they would probably end up with a ton of non-Disney pins. It's a little weird to say "only Disney fakes go here", because then you are kind of acknowledging/legitimizing scrappers. Disney could do this in conjunction with introducing blind boxes where the cost could be $5/pin. Then the cast member could reject fakes on the "authentic" board but still give options for kids to trade on the "open" boards or buy legitimate pins at a high, but manageable, cost.
@@mattfrohardt I like that idea. The domestic parks are so deep in scrapper town that it wouldn't be a super easy or comfortable transition. I think it would be helpful though. I'll forever be jealous of Disneyland Paris and how they do pin trading!
First of all congratulations to the both of you for the addition to your family. As the father of two boys, it is such a wonderful thing. Glad to see your new video and the new pins. Keep up the great work. Take care. Jamie & Lynn from Milwaukee.
I discovered Disney Trading Pins 4 U from one of your other videos and love getting pins from them as well. It seems like every holiday they have a sale plus the discount code they send after your first order so you can get pins for less than $3 each! I actually use them as rewards for my kids. I put them all in a bag and let them draw one out as a prize. If they like it, they keep it. If not, they put it in their trading book. (Maybe a tip for your little one in a few years!)
@@magicaladventuresyt I mean, that part of the video actually made me laugh out loud. Unfortunately, to your point, scrapper pins have ruined the experience in the states. We gave up on pin boards months ago and now exclusively people trade - it’s too bad they can’t implement a system like DLP. It sure would bring the excitement back to the parks. Any way, congrats on the new bundle. Sending all the pixie and sleep dust your way!
@@ka_thomas My park days are starting to look different as well. Not really going so far out of my way to hit a pin board that most likely holds no value! Thank you so much!
Thank you for highlighting the fake eBay lots and showing people what not to do! Very informative video for people new to the community or don’t know much about pins! Man they are releasing some HEAT next year, I’m so excited for that trash can set, but did you see how many new Sorcerer Mickeys are coming out??? Wallet is about to be hurting!
$100 for all that is amazing! $45 + tax coming out to be almost $50 for 5 mystery pins is insane. I refuse to buy them at full price when I don't even know for sure what I'm getting.
Exactly. That's one reason why we acquire new mystery pins via trade. It's so common to get duplicates in those packs so not worth it if you buy 3 or more bags even
@@magicaladventuresyt the fact that 2 packs alone will cost nearly $100 just kills the hobby. They're supposed to just be mystery pins not some limited edition pin 🤦🏻♂️
@@TheOfficialGavinLim Hard to justify the cost. And for the families just getting into trading and buying their pins at the park, it’s a major added expense to an already pricey vacation. Makes me feel bad for them!
Where did you get the image of the "Stitch Attacks Snacks" pins shown at minute 39? That isn't what they look like in the real series, and frankly, whatever imagine you've attached there is better than the real ones in the sense that they are more creative and fun. I have the whole series so far, but him and Angel are in basically the same pose every month. I'm a little disappointed that they didn't try with the pins to be more versatile the way they did with the stuffed animals that are more creative in how they are displayed in their munching. 😕
@@MikeyDub94 ultimatepinsnews on Instagram! You’ll need to scroll down their profile to October 14th or if you DM us on Instagram I can send it to you. These are from a 5 pin new mystery set separate from the monthly release they’ve been doing. Not sure if they’re available for sale yet like the rubber duck and trash can mystery pin sets. I agree some more creativity and such is needed! I can see where it’s hard using the same characters so many times though!
We where at the parks last week for 7 days and found a group of kids looking on boards roughly 10-13 years old and they all kept saying those are fake, don’t get a fake one. It really sucks now. Last visit we saw a cast member watching the pins now in all the stores I feel the price increase could be due to theft. The entire situation is getting a little out of hand. Hope it can get fixed. I think I may have traded 10 the entire trip off board rest was trading in Sid’s or Epcot super bummer for people. Also watched a person take 2 real pins and put on 2 fakes.
Those pins they have displayed at the open kiosks in the outdoor shops are a gold mine for stealing! Trading in the parks isn't as fun as it used to be. Trading in Sid's is the only time I know I'm for sure leaving the park with some good pins. Tough part is you're stuck inside for x amount of hours depending on traffic plus you can't walk around the park!
@@magicaladventuresyt I found zero 2024 hidden mickeys on boards all trip. I was trying to finish my muppets haunted mansion puzzle pieces with other traders but only one guy had one I needed. Did get some cool pins but still could be a lot more fun if we all played by the rules. Let’s hope they get more strict and at least try.
It's a shame, but there's really no monetary incentive for them to improve the pin trading experience. If the boards are flooded with fakes, it just pushes people to buy more. Plus, it makes people point fingers more at "the people that ruin it" rather than pointing the fingers at the company that's slowly pricing people out of the fun. Like, from an objective standpoint, trading small enamel pins shouldn't be the luxury hobby that it is.
I had an experience with a kid during my last visit at Disneyland. While waiting in line I noticed a kid had cool pins in his lanyard and I told him cool pins and he said do you want to trade. I said yeah and as I’m pulling out my pins he grabs pins from a small bag with red line that was a scrapper and doesn’t offer to trade from his lanyard. I didn’t know how to react because it was a kid. I just wished parents would stop purchasing these fake ones for kids. It ruins the fun in trading. Has this happened to you? I should have said no but I felt bad because it was a kid asking to trade.
I had a kid come up to me in Epcot and they only had scrappers I politely declined but I felt really bad. I’m thinking of keeping a pinfolio mini board of scrappers on me in case that happens again. I like to sit out by pin traders and I feel like more people stop by than Sid’s because it’s out in the open so it’s more likely kids will be around.
It has happened to me on several occasions and I just end up telling them in a respectful way that I didn't end up seeing anything I like. It gets awkward sometimes when that's all they brought to trade not knowing they only have fakes. I'll usually give them one of my pins with nothing in return just because! Makes them happy and makes me feel good!
