@@magicaladventuresyt I mean, that part of the video actually made me laugh out loud. Unfortunately, to your point, scrapper pins have ruined the experience in the states. We gave up on pin boards months ago and now exclusively people trade - it’s too bad they can’t implement a system like DLP. It sure would bring the excitement back to the parks. Any way, congrats on the new bundle. Sending all the pixie and sleep dust your way!

Exactly. That's one reason why we acquire new mystery pins via trade. It's so common to get duplicates in those packs so not worth it if you buy 3 or more bags even

@@magicaladventuresyt the fact that 2 packs alone will cost nearly $100 just kills the hobby. They're supposed to just be mystery pins not some limited edition pin 🤦🏻‍♂️

@@TheOfficialGavinLim Hard to justify the cost. And for the families just getting into trading and buying their pins at the park, it’s a major added expense to an already pricey vacation. Makes me feel bad for them!

Don't kid yourself about why there is a price increase on the pins. Those pins cost Disney next to nothing to have made. They are just rearing their ugly greedy head!

Those pins they have displayed at the open kiosks in the outdoor shops are a gold mine for stealing! Trading in the parks isn't as fun as it used to be. Trading in Sid's is the only time I know I'm for sure leaving the park with some good pins. Tough part is you're stuck inside for x amount of hours depending on traffic plus you can't walk around the park!

@@magicaladventuresyt I found zero 2024 hidden mickeys on boards all trip. I was trying to finish my muppets haunted mansion puzzle pieces with other traders but only one guy had one I needed. Did get some cool pins but still could be a lot more fun if we all played by the rules. Let’s hope they get more strict and at least try.

I had a kid come up to me in Epcot and they only had scrappers I politely declined but I felt really bad. I’m thinking of keeping a pinfolio mini board of scrappers on me in case that happens again. I like to sit out by pin traders and I feel like more people stop by than Sid’s because it’s out in the open so it’s more likely kids will be around.

It was so much easier to trade with real pins when pins were much more reasonable...2021 $27.99 for a 5 pack and now 2024 $44.99 for that same 5 pack! Maybe you can afford their insane prices but not everyone can.

It has happened to me on several occasions and I just end up telling them in a respectful way that I didn't end up seeing anything I like. It gets awkward sometimes when that's all they brought to trade not knowing they only have fakes. I'll usually give them one of my pins with nothing in return just because! Makes them happy and makes me feel good!

I haven't set up there yet but will trade with some people that are. It definitely gets a lot more traffic!

Thank you! Yeah the prices are pretty steep. I understand the cost of everything has gone up but with these being so cheap to make, the price difference from 2021 to now is pretty crazy! I will hold onto a few just in case!

I've been brewing in my brain for the last couple years trying to solve the scrapper problem. Best I can come up with is similar to what you are suggesting... each park to have 2-3 pin boards at some of the "big" locations and have them labeled as "Authentic" pin boards and have those monitored by a knowledgable cast member. Then there would still be the all the other pin boards that are kind of free-for-all (still monitored like normal but not restricted) where people could trade scrappers. The trouble with those boards is that they would probably end up with a ton of non-Disney pins. It's a little weird to say "only Disney fakes go here", because then you are kind of acknowledging/legitimizing scrappers. Disney could do this in conjunction with introducing blind boxes where the cost could be $5/pin. Then the cast member could reject fakes on the "authentic" board but still give options for kids to trade on the "open" boards or buy legitimate pins at a high, but manageable, cost.

@@mattfrohardt I like that idea. The domestic parks are so deep in scrapper town that it wouldn't be a super easy or comfortable transition. I think it would be helpful though. I'll forever be jealous of Disneyland Paris and how they do pin trading!

I remember they were $27.99 just 3 years ago! I know Disney needs to make money but they are literally gouging every chance they get. Park tickets, food, room rates, souvenirs, Magical Express, Lightning Lane & Genie+ or whatever they call it now. I mean $6 or something for 1 bottle of water when I can practically get a whole 24 pack for price!

I had a hard time justifying $40 a pack but now that they went up to $45, I will be drastically limiting my pin purchases! Sad to say, but that'll be the reality for a lot of us

Gosh I totally forgot they were that cheap just 3 years ago! I do realize older pins don't have waffling and was specifically talking about the counterfeit tsum tsum pin that didn't have backing but should have. We have a few authentic pins where the backing doesn't run off the edge and most recently some of Disney's newer pins, specifically last year's Hidden Disney wave did not have backing running smoothly off the edge. It's extremely rare you'll catch authentic pins with that backing error unless Disney starts making more that way. I do know the seller's track record and those DSSH pins are authentic. I assume their value ( like many other pins) just dropped post-release. That coupled with the fact they bought several of each design and probably wanted to get rid of some. It has happened to us a couple times haha

@@rsmith8434 I have pins in my fanny pack or on a pinfolio I pull out as I go through the day and with my camera equipment it can be an extra hassle to show what I’m giving the Cast Member each time I trade as we make quick exchanges. A third arm would help haha. I’ll try to remember to show what I’m trading before our days start in since we’re nonstop once we get to the park. And obviously all trader pins are high value and authentic! Thanks for watching!

Mushu has been the trickiest for us! We try our best to trade for mystery pins we want but often times we gotta dive in and make the purchase lol
