Wow D. I can't tell you how proud I am to know you and to be someone you call friend. I recall years ago you shared a bit of that day with me but hearing you describe it in more detail was an incredible blessing to me. Your heart, your love for other veterans, your humor and your faithfulness to Jesus in sharing of His love for others. I can only begin to imagine all that you saw and felt that day and every day since. In all the chaos, God used you to bring calm and comfort to the surprised doc who was baffled at your capacity to joke right then and to the marine who needed your outstretched arm. I see the irony in the Sgt's joke regarding your ability to "lend a hand" in one scenario, and then you literally did moments later although severely in pain yourself, to care for a fellow marine. You're an incredible man, my friend. And you're a serious blessing to many.
Took me a moment to figure out who this was :) I didn't really share this but my day was rough thanks to this video. Not just the telling but then I had to edit it and hear it again and again, sheesh! But seeing what effect it has had really shows me why God put it in my heart to do! Hopefully this can give people a little more insight into the things they don't normally hear from Veterans and help them to realize what they struggle with behind closed doors! Thanks for your support JQ!
Thank you for sharing. Glad you made it back mostly in one piece. First saw your vids testing the zonz camo years and years ago (I run it out here on the high plains) then came across your gel tests and subscribed, enjoying the m99 series now. Thanks for your service.
WOW! I am so happy to hear people from that may years ago are still here and supporting me! Seriously, it is heart warming! And yeah, the M99 has been something that really does bring me joy so I am glad to share that with you =)
Three things I learnt quickly in Iraq 1) milliseconds count , 2) luck plays a MASSIVE part in combat and weather you get wounded or die or not. 3) being a good soldier doesn't increase your chances of surviving as much I once thought it would lol . your video has stirred up my thinking and memories lol , you are one blessed man to survive that round broski , close call is an understatement
Glad I listened in and got the whole story. I did hear the short side of it in your presence. God bless and a happy belated Veterans Day to you sir, and thank you 🙏. Amen.
I've read several books about Operation Phantom Fury/the Battle of Fallujah. "No True Glory" by Bing West was the best I've read about the battle. It's always interesting to hear first-hand accounts from veterans who were actually there. Thank you for telling your story. I'm a former Marine myself, but I wasn't infantry. My MOS was aviation ordnance. I'm not a combat veteran and I always say to infantry Marines: "I was just an airwinger. You, on the other hand, were a REAL Marine." Respect to you and all other infantry Marines.
Anyone who earned the title is a real Marine! You have up a lot and served honorably, I assume, so yeah man, don't down play that! I have also read no true glory and thought it was great.
I was lucky enough to serve in 3/1 and you guys are still legendary figures to us. Still a few old salt dogs walking around in the 2016 timeframe. Respect brotha
God bless brother , being a Brit I was in Basra 2006/7 , first thing I thought while watching this is thank god it wasn't a few mm either side of your gun or you would of had a really messed up grinner for life or had a really long nap lol , just kidding, I'm glad your good now mate , what a crazy country Iraq is I was 19 when I was there I imagine you was around the same age , some things will never leave us mentally I don't think , but hey at least your still able to farm lots of led 😂 , thanks for sharing mate 👍 ,
And thanks for your support! It's a bit surprising to me how many people will watch this sort of thing but I'm glad I brought myself to share it because it seems to be reaching folks :)
Darrell, I remember that day. I remember when you rejoined your childhood friends at Imperial Bowl. I love you Darrell from sassy lil kindergartener to the man you are now. Thanks for your service, Tears came, as you explained the details. It's a blessing you're back.
@MrLedFarmer0331 My God, man! Don't comment now to remind me, I'm still at the salt mine. Remind me when I finish to get booze, watch this video then Task & Purpose on the Unsubscribe Podcast, please and thank you. Haha.
