A few minor things not picked up. Pull out the divider in the drink area and you can turn it around to allow or block air conditioning flow depending on if you're carrying hot or cold drinks. Also the centre storage has a 12V charging with the lid specially designed for cable management to the rear. The rear seats are offset higher (cinema seating) to let paasengers have a better view. Roll on 2021 for the new version. Looks great and with a decent running gear and media system it will be a winner.

Nissan X-Trail (Rogue) pricing kicks off in Australia from AUD$30,040 (US$19,212) for the X-Trail (Rogue) ST manual and finishes at AUD$48,490 (US$31,000) for the top-specification X-Trail (Rogue) TL diesel. Is it good value for money?

Nice review I got 2017 X-Trail Tekna Diesel 1.6 4cyl 165HP/370NM. Drives smooth. I came out of a 80K BMW so was spoiled. But I feel very homy/comfy and yes the Entertainment/Nav/Audio could be better but somehow I forgive the car it's flaws and enjoy it much. It is actually quit fast, Great range up to 1.000KM. I love the looks of the car it's not outdated at all even in 2022 (okay on the inside it is). Great steering wheel and easy to manouvre, seats are good. On the back seats it's spacious and moving the seats and angle makes it a nice place to sit on longer trips (I heard :) ). I always see complains about missing USB ports in the back, well Nissan dealer or e-bay etc. can help you it's easy to build in!! Overall; I'm happy with the X-Trail here in the Netherlands...

Great work, Paul. The good ol' X-Trail - quite the trailblazer! I'm not sure why, but for some reason I have soft spot for this thing (despite being massively outclassed by the competition). It'll be interesting to see the next generation - Nissan have some work to do!

The Rogue very much like X-Trail. Neighbor bought new 2019 Rogue SV. On lot was Certified Monarch Orange SL AWD I liked. I enhanced look with X-Trail accessories not sold for Rogue. Their both like twins except Trail is 4WD & Rogue AWD. I like how they ride and happy with my Rogue. I did buy the X-Trail 2-tone orange armrest cover.

it's not that it's fallen out of favor it's that nissan completely scraped what the xtrail used to be a boxy 4x4 that was designed for a fair amount of offroad and was practical and designed for people with adventurous lifestyle I personally love the xtrail I still own a 2009 t31 xtrail from brand new and never had any issues I would if upgraded I'm nissan kept atleast half the thing we live about the xtrail

No Apple Carplay in this 2020 Australian model series 3. Well. Sad, as it is in all the overseas models in the form of an updated head unit. The US Rogue had it last year ,Asia and Europe have it in their xtrail. Please explain Nissan.
Strange thing is the Australian Qashqai, 2020, made in England has the new head unit, in Australia.
The Rouge is built in the U.S. The European xtrail in England for Europe .While the Asian, includes Australian, Xtrails are built in Japan.
Australia is the only country that did not receive the updated head unit, even in the current series 3.
    What gives Nissan?

nissan xtrail lemon by ex owner.... i bought a 2012 2.4 xtrail and took
it to the beach which is the most common off road environment.. it could
not drive the wheels out of the sand.. just revd a little and
nothing... stuck.. i checked the gear ratio of 1st gear which has an
overall ratio of 10 to 1... way to high... other suv are 15 to 1 overall
in 1st and can pull out of the sand...i sold this lemon within a month
and bought a mitsi outlander... no problem...spins all wheels in the
sand.. ....the 2l version xtrail has 15.8 to 1 overall ratio
in 1st... same as the 2.4 outlander..overall includes the diff ratio

Australia .. must be good not to bother about gasprices. Europe has double the price and a lot of penalties on gas or diesel engines. Driving a 2.5 L engine is considered a minor luxury. Therefor also a lot of cars in this size is not very popular.

You are forgetting that it has a center diff with low gear, which makes this and Forester one of your best cheap options for off roading, with an SUV. No BMW, Merc, Audi have that and not everyone has money for a Land Cruiser. Sorry I thought you were from Australia.

I’m hoping to find out too... I used to always wonder about reliability and economy and now the first thing is DPF problems. Some car makers just let their owners suffer ongoing DPF issues and others get the design, warranty and service correct. I grant it’s probably not easy but it would be nice to know before purchase

BASICALY, BETTER for LONG travel. NOT for SHORT trips/school runs/to the shops/etc.

FIL has one. CVT shat itself at 75,000 km. Steering is too light and has no feel. Ride is jittery to the point of being annoying. It’s not that practical, my Kia Cerato hatch can carry more (a trip to ikea proved that).
